Bushiroad has confirmed the full release date for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. It will release the new fighting game for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC simultaneously worldwide on July 17, 2025.

The company also announced plans to gradually add more playable characters beyond the 16 fighters available at launch via DLC. Neferpitou will be the first post-launch character set to appear in Fall 2025. The same first season will also gradually feature more new content every following season until Summer 2026.

Bushiroad has also revealed physical and digital bonuses for purchasing the fighting game. The physical limited edition will contain serial codes for the above season and additional in-game skins for Kurapika and Hisoka. It will also have a special booklet and acrylic stands of Gon and Killua.

Meanwhile, digital pre-orders for the game will net a different bonus skin for each platform. Players can get an alternate skin for Gon on the Switch, Killua on the PS5, and Hisoka for the PC version that will appear on Steam.

In addition, Bushiroad has ed a release date announcement trailer for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact in Japanese on its YouTube channel. An English version of the trailer is also available on Arc System Works' American channel:

Bushiroad announced that Kite will the roster of Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact as a playable fighter. Shuichi Ikeda will reprise his role for the game.

Kite is a Hunter and Ging’s student. Those who only watched the 2011 version of the anime would only see him after the Greed Island arc. However, in the manga and original anime, Kite actually made an appearance before Gon even left Whale Island to take the Hunter Exam.

The Nen x Impact version of Kite seems to play like a zoner. Most of his moves use projectiles to keep the opponent at bay. His Aura Arts, Silent Waltz, can break through their defense, giving Kite the opening he needs to get in his combos. In the anime and manga, Kite’s Crazy Slots conjured a roulette that would give him a random weapon to use. Crazy Slots does not have that RNG aspect in Nen x Impact. Instead, Kite only ever uses the carbine, with Silent Waltz reserved for the aforementioned Aura Arts.

Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact is an fighting game for the popular anime and manga series, Hunter x Hunter. A total of sixteen characters will appear at launch. Aside from the main characters like Gon and Killua, you’ll be able to play as people like Feitan, Genthru, Bisky, and Meruem.

Bushiroad has confirmed that it will release Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact in the Summer of 2025. It has started narrowing down the release window for the new fighting game after delaying it from 2024.

The company had previously stated that it would release Nen x Impact in 2024. However, in late September 2024, Bushiroad announced that it delayed the game's release to 2025. The wait will be worth it for fighting game enthusiasts though, as the company noted the implementation of the highly-requested rollback netcode as the primary reason for the delay.

In the same press release, Bushiroad published more details about the fighting game's demo booth at Jump Festa 2025, which will take place in Makuhari Messe on December 21-22, 2025. While the demo will only have ten playable characters, all sixteen launch characters will appear via memorabilia badges that players can get after playing it. The booth's staff will let players choose from between the two boxes to pick one of the badges with ten different designs at random.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact will be available for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC in the Summer of 2025. The game will appear worldwide with Japanese voiceovers and subtitles in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

A new demo for Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact will appear at Jump Festa 2025. People attending the event can try the demo at the Bushiroad booth and will receive a special novelty pin badge for playing.

The demo for the 3v3 team-based 2D fighter will offer 10 characters. Meanwhile, from the opening animation of the game revealed back in July 2024, it seems like the full release of the game will include 16 playable fighters.

The cast of Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is getting larger, as the newest revealed character is Genthru. He’ll be a playable fighter, and a new trailer showed exactly how he’ll work when he enters the arena.

An initial gameplay trailer showing how Genthru will work in Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact appeared. In the introduction shot, he appears alongside Bara and Sub. It seems both of them will Genthru for some of his attacks, as we see them when the fight begins and when he summons both to attack Biscuit at the 11 second mark. His own established Nen abilities start to appear at the 13 second mark immediately after that. He first uses Little Flower against his opponent. At the 25 second mark, he performs his Countdown attack against Gon.

We will need to wait a while before we end up getting to play as Genthru in the game. Bushiroad announced it was being pushed back to 2025 at the end of September 2024. However, the delay seems to be for a good reason. The game will now include rollback netcode to ensure a more ive online environment when it appears.

While the Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact fighting game originally had a 2024 release window, it is now delayed until 2025. However, Bushiroad announced the change is for an important reason. The goal for the extra time is to allow Eighting and Bushiroad to add rollback netcode to the final version of Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact. 

The statement about the delay is rather short. It simply noted that Bushiroad and Eighting felt rollback netcode would be needed for the Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact online matches. The goal is to ensure the online experience is stronger ahead of launch. Prior to this reveal, playable builds of the title did show up at multiple events. 

Here is the full statement regarding the Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact delay:

“The release timing for Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact will be changed from the previously announced 2024 timing to now release within 2025.

We sincerely apologize for the trouble caused by this delay to the players who are looking forward to the game’s release.

This delay is so that we will be able to implement rollback netcode for release.
*Rollback netcode is a system that reduces the feeling of connection delay when playing online matches.

We made this decision out of concern that players would not be able to fully enjoy the game in a state where some players would encounter issues with online play, given the nature of fighting games.

The release date will be announced at a later time. We appreciate your understanding, as we continue to work to provide the best game possible.”

Prior to this reveal, it had been a while since any new updates about the Hunter x Hunter fighting game appeared. The last reveal came in July 2024. That’s when we learned Meruem would be a part of the roster.

Bushiroad announced that Meruem will appear as a playable character in Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact. It also revealed the official opening animation for Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact, which seems to reveal the roster that’ll be available at launch.

He is a powerful character who has a wide reach thanks to his long tail. According to his description on the website, he is also a good assist character. The trailer shows Meruem facing off against Netero in what seems like a recreation of their showdown during the Chimera Ant Arc.

Bushiroad confirmed Feitan Portor will be a part of the Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact playable character roster. Players will be able to include him in their team in the 3v3 fighting game.

The company also shared a new trailer showcasing the character, who will primarily fight with the sword he usually hides inside his umbrella. Kappei Yamaguchi, who voiced Feitan in the 2011 anime adaptation, will reprise his role in this game.

A total of twelve playable characters have been known as of Feitan's reveal. Bushiroad has so far revealed Gon, Killua, Leorio, Kurapika, Hisoka, Netero, Bisky, Machi, Uvogin, and Chrollo. The official site has sixteen character slots, with five of them still unfilled. However, an early stream by Justin Wong has indirectly confirmed that Genthru will fill one of them.

Even though Bushiroad has been increasing its pace in revealing characters for its anime-based fighting game, it has still yet to confirm the release date within a broad window in the year 2024. However, publishers of fighting games often make major reveals like release date announcements during the annual Evolution Championship Series tournament, and Evo 2024 will take place on July 19-21, 2024.

During Anime Expo, Bushiroad announced that Chrollo will be a playable character in Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. You can watch a trailer for his character here:

Other of the Spiders appear in his trailer as well. Bushiroad had previously revealed that Uvogin and Machi will also be playable characters in the game. Feitan isn't, but since Bushiroad made a model for him, it's likely that he will be. Chrollo is a very close-ranger fighter, which matches with what we see from him in the anime. He uses his stolen Indoor Fish Nen ability a lot as opposed to the poisoned knife that he uses in his fight with the older of the Zoldyck family. Granted, this is Nen Impact so perhaps the developers placed more emphasis on Chrollo’s Nen powers.

In the Hunter x Hunter anime and manga series, Chrollo is the leader of the Phantom Troupe, or the Spiders. Despite his genial personality, he is a very cold and ruthless murderer and thief. As the leader of the Spiders, he was the one who ordered the attack on Kurapika’s village, serving as Kurapika’s main motivation and nemesis. As a Nen , Chrollo is a Specialist whose Skill Hunter ability can steal other people’s Nen powers so long as they remain alive.

Bushiroad has revealed that it will add Machi and Uvogin into Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. People will be able to include both characters into their teams in the 3v3 team fighting game based on the manga and anime series.

Arc System Works, which is helping Bushiroad to publish the fighting game under development by Eighting westwards, has published the trailers on its American YouTube channel. Nen x Impact is so far only confirmed to feature Japanese voiceovers, but the former has added English subtitles to its trailers.

Here is the first new Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact trailer featuring Machi, who is being voiced in Japanese by Rena Maeda:

The second trailer features Uvogin, and the veteran voice actor Akio Ohtsuka will reprise his role from the 2011 anime version.

With the reveal of Machi and Uvogin, Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact has ten playable fighters known as of the beginning of July 2024. The first six characters shown during the initial reveal were Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, Hisoka, and Netero. The companies had also added Biscuit "Bisky" Krueger to the roster. And even though Genthru has yet to be formally revealed, Justin Wong's video had confirmed his inclusion.

Ahead of any actual marketing for him, Justin Wong’s latest video for Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact showed that Genthru will be one of the playable characters in the game. Like in the original series, Genthru will fight using his bombs.

The focus of the video is in the title. It mostly shows one of the developers of Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact giving Wong the business. However, we can see in some of the matches that both players are using Genthru on top of the roster we already saw in the demo build. Granted, in the video itself, we don’t really see Genthru that often. Both players seem to prefer using characters like Leorio, Hisoka, and Netero.

In Hunter x Hunter, Genthru was one of the major antagonists of the Greed Island arc. Though he starts out as a nice and friendly person, he eventually reveals his more treacherous and murderous side. For years, he was secretly killing players in order to emerge as the victor and win Battera’s prize.

Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact is a 3v3 2D fighting game in which you control various characters from the titular anime and manga series. Bushiroad had already announced that a demo build of the game will be at EVO Japan 2024 and KSG2024. Based on the previous announcement though, the demo will only have six characters available to play. You might not be able to play as Genthru.

First, here’s the trailer for Gon. It begins by showing his introduction. After that, we get to see him fight Hisoka. That’s followed by footage of him attacking Killua. 

Next, here’s the Killua trailer. Again, it starts with an introduction before the match begins. That’s also followed by proper fights. First, he faces Gon. After that, he beats up on Hisoka. 

Finally, the third one of the new trailers showed off Hisoka. After he introduces himself, we watch him face Killua. Then, his trailer ends with him fighting Gon.

Bushiroad has published the first official trailer for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact on its YouTube channel. This trailer gives a quick rundown of the gameplay features and playable characters in the 3v3 Hunter x Hunter fighting game.

The features that Bushiroad introduced in the trailer are as follows:

• Assist: Deal massive damage with simultaneous attacks from partners

The trailer also features the first few characters who will be available in the fighting game. So far it only shows the six characters who have appeared since the initial teaser trailer. In of the genre of fighting game, it’ll be 3v3 in a 2D arena. The preview video shows off how you can use the characters’ signature moves, as well as call in your teammates to aid you. It also shows the gamers enjoying their time playing and figuring out how to use their characters or combos. Though this seems to be the first time they're playing the game, they are able to chain together attacks after only a bit of practice. Time will tell if this is because the game is easy to pick up or if this is because they're professional gamers.
