Sony and Lego are teaming up to release the first playset based on Lego Horizon Adventures. The playset, which is called Aloy & Varl vs Shell-Walker & Sawtooth, is set to release on March 1, 2025. The playset is currently available to pre-order from the official Lego site. It will cost $44.99.

The new Lego Horizon Adventures playset features two machines, which are the Shell-Walker and Sawtooth. The Shell-Walker is a crab-like machine that is used to transport materials around. It’s recognizable for its prominent shell container and shield. The Sawtooth is a machine similar to a big cat that is one of Horizon’s more aggressive machines. It was first seen in Horizon Zero Dawn when the player is taught how to use a Tripcaster. The playset also comes with minifigs of Horizon protagonist Aloy and Varl, a fellow Nora tribesman who assists Aloy on her adventures.

The PlayStation Blog features a video discussing the process of deg the Lego Horizon Adventures playset, as designers from both Lego and Guerrilla collaborated to make the machines work in Lego form. They explain that the machines were chosen as they were favorites of the designers.

The set is primarily based on the Lego Horizon Adventures game, which released in 2024 and featured a more family-friendly take on Horizon Zero Dawn. However, this was not the first time Sony and Lego collaborated on a project. A Tallneck was previously released as an adult set. That is still available now.

A Horizon Forbidden West sequel seems to be on its way in the future, as confirmed by developer Guerrilla Games. The information was teased as part of a retrospective of Guerrilla’s work celebrating their 20th anniversary on the PlayStation Blog. Studio Director Jan-Bart van Beek said that he looks forward to fans seeing where Aloy goes next in her story.

Guerilla also confirmed that the Horizon franchise has sold 32.7 million units combined. Horizon Forbidden West makes up 8.4 million units of this total. However, there is a higher number of players due to subscriptions such as PlayStation Plus.

Elsewhere in the post, Van Beek looks back at the history of the studio, starting out in 2003 on Shellshock: Nam ’67. He then goes through the history of making the Killzone series for Sony and how it led to them becoming a first-party studio.

Naturally, a big chunk of the blog is dedicated to the development of Horizon Zero Dawn. Van Beek talks about the challenges of making the shift from a sci-fi FPS franchise to an open world action adventure. He also discusses the nervousness he and the other staff experienced showing off the reveal trailer for the first time.

Horizon Forbidden West is out now for PS5 and PS4. A major expansion, Burning Shores, released on April 19, 2023 for PS5 exclusively.

Sony isn't quite done with giving some of its recent releases a spruce-up for the PlayStation 5 era. Rumors reported in MP1st and corroborated by VGC and Gematsu suggest that Guerrilla Games is working on a remaster or remake of 2017's Horizon: Zero Dawn. Originally a PS4 exclusive, the game launched on PC in August 2020.

Targeted for the PS5, the Horizon: Zero Dawn remaster (or remake) would upgrade the graphics yet further, to match Horizon: Forbidden West, which released in February 2022 for PS4 and PS5. Additionally, accessibility options and other improvements put in place for the sequel, as well as graphical and performance settings, would be part of the project.

A second rumor in MP1st's report also claims that Guerrilla Games is working on a multiplayer game based on Horizon, with customization or gameplay based on the various tribes of Horizon's world. Gematsu, meanwhile, verified that the Horizon: Zero Dawn remaster and multiplayer projects are on a leaked list purporting to reveal various Sony Interactive Entertainment projects.

If this sounds familiar, it lines up with what Sony and Naughty Dog did for The Last of Us, wherein it remade 2013's The Last of Us as The Last of Us Part 1, bringing its graphics, features, and accessibility options up to par with (and beyond) its sequel, The Last of Us Part 2. Sony also remastered Marvel's Spider-Man, rereleasing it as a PS5-native game just ahead of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales in November 2020.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is available on the PS4 and PC. Horizon: Forbidden West is available on PS4 and PS5.

After an initial delay, the new release date for Horizon Forbidden West was announced during the gamescom Opening Night Live 2021 presentation. Potential players should mark their calendars, because the game is now set to release on February 18, 2022 on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders will begin on September 2, 2021.

Along with this news of the long-awaited sequel, it was also announced that the Enhanced Performance Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn is now live on the PlayStation 5. This enables 60fps as an option.

Horizon Zero Dawn originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. The sequel, Forbidden West, was initially given a 2021 release date, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During Sony's State of Play presentation in May 2021, a 14-minute gameplay demo was shown.

The Horizon Forbidden West PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 release date is February 18, 2022.

Aloy, the lead character from the Horizon Zero Dawn games, will show up in Genshin Impact. MiHoYo shared details about her in both a tweet and post on the official website. The images accompanying her announcement also only share images of the PS4 and PS5 logo, as she will initially only be available for those platforms in Genshin Impact when 2.1 releases. She will come to all versions when 2.2 debuts.

Here’s the tweet announcing her. It notes that The Nora Huntress and Savior from Another World will be a Cryo-type character. The art also shows her wielding her trademark bow, suggesting she will be an archer. There’s no footage of her in action yet, but there is official art showing how she will look in Genshin Impact. MiHoYo also separately announced that she will be a five-star character.

The website’s details offered a synopsis of the adventures Aloy experienced in Horizon Zero Dawn before heading to Genshin Impact. There are spoilers there, for people who haven’t played the original game. However, at the end the description noted, “[Aloy] has now come to Teyvat in search of a new challenges.”

As for how to get Aloy, she will be free for everyone. People playing on a PS4 or PS5 will get her for free after the 2.1 update. People playing on other devices who are over AR 20 will get her in 2.2.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and Aloy is eventually headed to the game. Horizon Zero Dawn is available for the PS4 and PC.

The Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy Fortnite bundle is on the way. Epic announced people with a PS4 or PS5 will be able to try and earn her in the Aloy Cup on April 14, 2021. However, the Horizon Zero Dawn bundle will be available to purchase in the Item Shop on April 15, 2021. There will also be a Team Up! Aloy & Lara Limited Time Mode available April 16-18, 2021.

When it comes to the Aloy Cup, only the top teams in each region will earn the Aloy outfit and accessories early. Also, as she’s known for her archery skills, people who use a bow get more points. If you’re on a PS4 or PS5, at Epic Level 30, and have 2FA enabled, you can take part.

As for the Fortnite Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy bundle, it comes with the sort of extras people would expect. Her Aloy outfit has a standard variant, though people who get it and play the game on a PS5 also get Ice Hunter Aloy from the Frozen Wilds DLC. Her look includes an Aloy’s Spear Pickaxe, Blaze Canister Back Blong, Glinthawk Glider, and a Shield-Weaver Wrap. Her emote is the Heart-rizon one, which appeared in photo mode promotional screenshots. If you buy the bundle, you also get the Aloy the Skywatcher Loading Screen too.

This is the second recent crossover for Fortnite. Back in February 2021, Street Fighter characters appeared in the game. People could get Chun-Li and Ryu bundles.

Fortnite is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices. The Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy Fortnite bundle will be available in the Item Shop starting on April 15, 2021.

The next phase of Sony’s free Play at Home PS4 game initiative is about to kick off on March 25, 2021. The company announced that 10 more games will be given away in the near future, with Horizon Zero Dawn as the biggest name in the bunch. Three of them are also PlayStation VR exclusives, for those who might have the headset. In addition, it confirmed the free extended Funimation/Wakanim trial will be available to claim between March 25 and April 22, 2021.

There will be nine free games people can claim after March 25, 2021. Six are playable on the PS4. Two of those six have optional PSVR . Three of the games require a PSVR headset.

If there’s a constant that Horizon Zero Dawn PC players can count on, it’s crashes. Ever since the game launched in August 2020, they’ve been an issue. So much so that two patches last month attempted to ward them off. Now 1.04 has arrived and, again, the bulk of the work attempts to keep the Horizon Zero Dawn crashes away.

Here are the official 1.04 patch notes from Steam. While the bulk of them are devoted to stopping Horizon Zero Dawn crashes, it also helps make things like aiming, cutscenes, and mouse controls better.

Known Issues

• Some players are experiencing an out of memory error during the game optimization process.
• Some players are experiencing graphical settings issues, such as Anisotropic Filtering or HDR not working correctly.
• Some players are experiencing performance issues on specific GPUs or hardware combinations.
• Some players are experiencing issues with Aloy’s hair when the game is running above 30 FPS.

While there have definitely been issues, it seems Sony isn’t about to let them down. Following the Horizon Zero Dawn PC port and its sales, Sony said it is looking into porting more exclusives to the platform.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a critically acclaimed and fan favorite game, but its PC launch hasn’t exactly been smooth. People have been reporting issues like crashes, and Guerrilla Games already released one patch to try and make things better. Now a second Horizon Zero Dawn PC patch has arrived, and 1.02’s primary focus seems to be on preventing even more crashes.

There are four separate instances being addressed with 1.02. One keeps the game from crashing when you’re trying to start it for the first time. The other keeps it from happening if you updated video drivers, which is a thing people might regularly do to make sure things are running right. Finally, the last two instances address crashes that might have come up while someone would be playing.

The Horizon Zero Dawn PC port is available, but it didn’t exactly have a smooth landing. When it appeared on the new platform, players reported various issues with the game. For example, crashes were a big deal, as were problems with lag, frame rate inconsistencies, and graphical issues. Well, the first Horizon Zero Dawn PC patch has arrived, and it starts to fix things a bit.

Guerrilla Games noted specifically that this first patch will work to help with some of the crashes. One part of it fixes an issue where the SteamUI didn’t work right. It also will collect more data when the game crashes, so the developer can see what is going wrong and hopefully fix it. And, while most of the problems aren’t being fixed yet, the patch begins with an acknowledgement that a lot needs to be done and will be addressed.

The Horizon Zero Dawn PC version has a launch date. Guerrilla confirmed that people will be able to find it on August 7, 2020 on the whole new platform. As a reminder, this will be a Complete Edition of the game that will include the base title and its The Frozen Wilds expansion. It also won’t be exclusive to any one retailer, as both Epic Games Store and Steam will have it on launch day.

The Horizon Zero Dawn PC version is a game that has been teased since January 2020. Following a number of rumors, it was finally confirmed back in March 2020 and assigned a general Summer 2020 launch window.

To celebrate the coming launch, a new trailer has been released going over the features people will find in the PC version of the game. It begins by looking at the ultra-wide . Then, it looks at unlocked frame rates, dynamic foliage, graphical customization, improved reflections, controller options, and the benchmarking tool. All of this happens while you get to watch Aloy fight and explore her way through the world.

The Horizon Zero Dawn PC version will come to the Epic Games Store and Steam on August 7, 2020.

Free Comic Book Day 2020 is working a little differently this year. The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic resulted in shelter-in-place orders in May 2020, which kept it from occurring on May 2, 2020. This time, to help encourage social distancing and give people more chances to get comics, it will be held between July 15 and September 9, 2020. Instead of all free samples being distributed at once, a handful of comics will be doled out over a series of weeks, with 45 total books distributed.

Here are the official descriptions and dates for some of the more notable, video game-related titles that will have samples available during Free Comic Book Day 2020. There are previews for some of the books, like Udon's Street Fighter issue, available at the official site.

Watch out, as the trailer for Horizon: Forbidden West spoils a reveal from 2017's Horizon: Zero Dawn in its opening lines. If you're spoiler-averse, just know that this is the sequel, and it's due for the PS5 from Guerrilla Games. The new game sees protagonist Aloy journeying to new areas, tackling new threats, and exploring new ruins. The trailer also debuted new, more mammalian-looking robotic megafauna, as well as what might be underwater exploration (and a huge robotic alligator).

Aloy is on a journey to save the world from what appears to be a new robotic infestation of sorts in Horizon: Forbidden West, reflected by strange red plants and other forms of corruption. She'll also encounter new human enemies that, like her, seem to have the ability to tame the robotic animals for their own use, as shown when a group of hostiles appears walking alongside a robotic war elephant.

Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is no longer a PlayStation 4-exclusive game. While a rumor appeared suggesting a port was on the horizon back in January 2020, it has been confirmed Herman Hulst, the current Sony PlayStation Worldwide Studios Head and former Guerrilla Games Managing Director. In Summer 2020, the Horizon Zero Dawn PC port will arrive, and the Steam page is now online confirming it will be the Complete Edition with The Frozen Wilds expansion.

The PlayStation Blog announcement, Hulst said the port was happening, but didn’t provide any details about what it will entail. Instead, he said Guerilla Games Studio Directors Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets would be making a subsequent announcement about its contents.

To assuage fears people may have about the Horizon Zero Dawn PC port announcement, Hulst said this doesn’t mean all PlayStation 4-exclusive games will be eventually be multiplatform titles. He also noted, “We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.”

The PlayStation 4 version of Horizon Zero Dawn debuted in 2017, followed by a The Frozen Wilds expansion and a Complete Edition later that year. It follows Aloy, a woman on a version of Earth where gigantic mechanical beasts have taken over. She heads out on a journey to learn the truth about her own origins and deal with threats to everyone’s way of life.

Horizon Zero Dawn is immediately available on the PlayStation 4, and it will come to the PC in Summer 2020.

Rumors about a Horizon Zero Dawn PC version have appeared again. This time, Kotaku said that three anonymous sources have confirmed a port of the game is in development.

This is not the first time rumors about a Horizon Zero Dawn PC port have emerged. Back in December 2019, Anton Logvinov claimed that the PlayStation 4 exclusive would be coming to a new platform. (He previously talked about the Death Stranding PC version before its official announcement.) In his video claiming the Guerilla game would be going multiplatform, he suggested a February 2020 release window could be possible.

In Horizon Zero Dawn, players follow Aloy. She is a hunter in a futuristic world who has always been something of an outcast. When she finally gets what she wanted for years, cultists attack and steal it all away. In the process, she learns she has a far greater destiny and heads out to explore a large world, fighting the machine “animals” roaming around and searching for answers about herself.

Horizon Zero Dawn is also a part of the PlayStation Hits line. The Complete Edition is $19.99 and gives people the PlayStation 4 game, its The Frozen Wilds expansion, a digital art book, a PlayStation 4 theme, and extra outfits and weapons for Aloy.
