Cover announced the 1.0 launch of Holoearth, the Hololive and Holostars metaverse project that includes social and a sandbox element, and confirmed the Marketplace with -created items will debut alongside it. That happens on April 24, 2025. Following that, the company will begin work on other additions such as a hololive production official shop, for the company’s Vtubers’ models in-game, concerts and special events, and mobile . 

In the case of the Holoearth Marketplace, it will let people use the Creator Tools to apply original art and designs created by people to apply them to in-game avatar t-shirts and hoodies. These items can also become chat stickers. After creating the art and adding them to an item, these will be submitted to Cover. Once approved, someone can go to their My Shop to decorate a storefront and begin selling any valid items they created at an AL-Tech Terminal. All purchases will use the HoloCoin currency. Once items sell, the people who made them can then get paid for them. 

Here’s the official trailer for the Holoearth Marketplace. If you turn on closed captions, English subtitles are available. At the one minute mark, the new official Pastel Spring avatar items made by Cover appear.

There’s a Holoearth anime-style trailer to celebrate the 1.0 launch as well.

As for the future, that involves more customization options and things to do in Holoearth. The only one with a set date is the hololive production official shop. That “opens” in-game on May 14, 2025. When it does, Hololive Expo 2024 and general Vtuber t-shirts will appear in it. Another goal will be for the project to the Hololive and Holostars’ Vtuber avatars. So performers can use that in-app, with the custom clothing there, when taking part in meet-and-greet moments, special activities, and concerts. More concerts are also planned, with Cover suggesting they’ll be like Protolive and Yamato Phantasia. Finally, some elements of the metaverse will show up on mobile devices.

Holoearth is available for PCs, and the 1.0 version debuts on April 24, 2025.

A new web comic for hololive Alternative will appear on Manga Up from October 19, 2024. It’ll feature Akai Haato, Tsunomaki Watame, Shiranui Flare, and Shirogane Noel cooking food in another world.

The full title of the manga is Holoearth Days! A Tale Side:W Westa de Cooking - Recipe of Happiness. On the cover art, we can see the four main hololive girls who’ll star in it as they have a picnic. While the food generally looks like stuff we would eat in real life, there are worms or something popping out of the hamburger Haato’s holding, and the juice is a light purple color.

As for the plot, it follows Akai Haato, who gets isekai-ed from the shock of eating her own cooking. When she wakes up in the new world, she meets shepherd Tsunomaki Watame, cafe poster girl Shiranui Flare, and leader of the knights Shirogane Noel. This will be a comedic series focusing on the four girls cooking and spreading smiles.

This will be on a monthly release schedule from October 19, 2024. You’ll be able to read it on the third Saturday of every month after that. As well, the prologue of the hololive Alternative manga will appear on the official X (formerly known as Twitter) some time in the near future.

The Holoearth Version 0.8.0 update will add combat and survival features. In addition, the simulation room will be larger and there will be a day-night cycle. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Version 0.8.0 of Holoearth go live on June 17, 2024. Cover already announced this back in April 2024, though that reveal didn't involve a concrete release date. You can watch the trailer here:

In the trailer, we can watch the sky turn from night to day. We also get the first example of combat in Holoearth, as we get to see a battle. You can also throw items at enemies and attack them with your swords. Defeating them can also let you level up. The trailer doesn’t show too much of what you can do to survive in the wild, but we can see the avatar player sitting next to a fire outside. There will also be 36 new items to customize your avatar and over 200 new items for your house.

At night, you’ll need to use a torch or campfire to see things around you. Defeating monsters will let you gain materials and ingredients. You can then use those items to craft various items or cook different meals. You’ll need to do so to prevent hunger and dehydration, which can affect your stamina.

Holoearth is available on the Windows PC and Version 0.8.0 will come out on June 17, 2024. To commemorate this, you’ll be able to collect 300 Holocoins. However, this offer will only be available until August 14, 2024.

Back in April 2024, Cover promised the 0.7.0 Hololive Holoearth update in May 2024 would add lifestyle updates like avatar customization, and Hololive CEO Motoaki “Yagoo” Tanigo took to social media to show these elements off. He highlighted his avatar, other players’ characters, and the customization feature.

The first photo from Tanigo’s visit to Alternative City involved a picture of him posing with four other players.

In the second picture, the Cover CEO showed what happens after a Hololive Holoearth player heads to the Altermode shop to buy and change the clothing and accessories their avatar wears. While he was wearing a black shirt with the experience’s logo and green cargo pants in the first screenshot, he’s wearing glasses and a new top, pants, and shoes in the second.

The third picture involved another close-up of his character in Holoearth. It allows someone to see the hairstyle, glasses, and shirt option more closely. Following sharing this screenshot, Motoaki Tanigo changed his official social media avatar to it.

Tanigo is often active in promoting Hololive and Holostars events and activities. In addition to typical activities such as sharing social media announcements and attending events, in the past he also served as a model for products.

There’s no exact release date for Holoearth yet, however the latest roap suggested the full version could end up appearing in May 2025. We do know some combat elements will arrive in 0.8.0, which is expected in June 2024. Then a 0.9.0 update will follow that later in 2024.

Yuuki Oooka, the producer of Hololive's Holoearth, has posted an update on what the team has been working on, as well as what beta players can expect in 2024. The full update includes an expected roap, as well as a tentative May 2025 release window.

To start with, Oooka said tests for the video streaming feature, avatar creation system, and simulation room went very well. The team learned a lot about what worked and what people wanted, and are using to continue working on everything. Oooka also apologized for the delay of Version 0.7.0. This delay was to improve stability and quality.

Version 0.7.0 will come out in May 2024 and will focus on the lifestyle experience. Version 0.8.0 will come out in June 2024, focusing on the sandbox environment. This will include more survival and combat mechanics, as well as enemies. The final update for the year should be Version 0.9.0, which will come out in the summer.

The development team should finish most of its work on the avatar creation system, lobby, sandbox game, and Alternative City within 2024. These are the basic elements and core systems for Hololive's Holoearth. Oooka also announced that the team will release game content other than the sandbox game, as well as a private area for the player. However, it’s unknown when they’ll be in the game. There will also be two more features, though it’s a secret for now.

Finally, Holoearth will not have an official 2024 release. Part of this is due to deliberation as to what counts as the end of the beta test and what counts as the official release. Because the team wants the game to be a game that is constantly being developed, it decided to maintain the beta version instead of switching over to an official release version.

Holoearth Version 1.0.0 (which is pretty much an official release) should come out some time in May 2025.

Cover will add temporary content related to Hololive Super Expo 2024 into Holoearth. The items will appear after the maintenance on March 13, 2024. However, they will only be available until the Spring 2024 update.

One of the main highlights of this update will be the addition of the blue Hololive Expo 2024 shirt. All players will be able to have their avatars wear the same aloha shirt used by Hololive and Holostars Vtubers in the expo's key visuals.

Cover will set up the theater area so that people can watch most of the expo's streams, which will also be broadcast on the Hololive YouTube channel on March 16-17, 2024. It will also add an acrylic featuring Holoearth's key visual and a floor mat with the metaverse game's logo as free temporary furniture.

Holoearth has been available since its public beta version launched in November 2022. Since then, the development team has gradually added more features to the PC metaverse game. A major update in 2023 added microtransactions that let people convert real money to Holocoins to purchase stickers and live event items.

Holoearth is available to access via a beta release on Windows PCs. The new content related to Hololive Super Expo 2024 will be available in Holoearth from March 13, 2024, until the next update patch in Spring 2024.

The developers of Holoearth shared some news on its progress and road map on the official website for the Hololive game. There will be microtransactions in the game, along with an avatar customization option. A beta version in which you can mess around with the Avatar Customization will come out around Fall 2023. There does not seem to be a gacha function in the game. Rather, the microtransactions will be for items like stickers (for the chat), firecrackers, and other items for live events. Speaking of live events, the Proto-Live, which had been the first miniature live event that launched in December 2022, will re-run in mid-May 2023. Because Cover had to limit the number of attendees during the first Proto-Live due to server issues, it will strengthen the servers this time so that more people can show up. A second and new Proto-Live will take place in Summer 2023.

Finally, there is an update on the Hololive game's open-world aspect’s development. The team has improved the 3D graphics of the explorable area, as well as polished up the battle mechanics. It is also testing the gameplay loop.

Holoearth is in development. Hololive VTubers will continue to stream their playtests in the open-world portion in the future.

Cover announced that the Hololive metaverse project Holoearth will open up a beta version of its lobby from November 24, 2022. People will be able to chat and emote with other players through the usage of avatars. This beta is for the communication lobby, which will serve as a sort of foyer for Holoearth. [Thanks, Denfami!]

Holoearth will be a mix of different worlds and a variety of content. It will allow people to experience the metaverse with VTubers from Hololive. Unlike the beta that took place in March 2022, this lobby beta will not have a time limit. Players will be able to access it indefinitely. You will be able to get the program for free from the Holoearth official website.

There is also a new main visual for Holoearth. It features the unnamed girl who likely serves as the “player avatar” and Tokino Sora. Tokino Sora is the founding member of Hololive and debuted in 2017. As of the time of writing, her YouTube channel has over 1.04 million subscribers.

According to past announcements, the Holoearth metaverse project will be an open-world sandbox game. Players can adventure and live a “daily life” in a way that is similar to Minecraft. Players will also be able to customize their avatar in the final version of the project. However, it is unclear if the communication lobby beta will allow any sort of customization.

The Holoearth beta will only be available for Windows PC. It will be available from the official website from November 24, 2022.

Cover released teaser trailers on two Hololive projects: Hololive Alternative and Holoearth. As a reminder, Holoearth is a metaverse sandbox project, while Hololive Alternative will feature the VTubers in a fantasy story. While Holoearth’s trailer only shows the of JP, VTubers from other regions appear in Hololive Alternative’s.

Both trailers feature a nameless female avatar, who will likely serve as an audience surrogate. The Holoearth concept movie shows the girls roughing it out in the wilderness. Activities include defeating wildlife, making a house, and dancing around a bonfire. During the gameplay trailer that Cover released in 2021, it released screenshots that showed how you can control Hololive characters to perform these tasks.

The song for Hololive Alternative’s trailer is “story time,” which is sung by Star Flower. Star Flower consists of Hoshimachi Suisei, AZKi, Moona Hoshinova, and IRyS. There are already various stories set in the Hololive Alternative world. For example, Manga-Up and Holonometria have the Holoearth Chronicles Side:E Yamato Phantasia comic online. This story features Fubuki and Mio.

Both Holoearth and Hololive Alternative are part of the same project. The concept behind it is that the Hololive VTubers (not the people portraying them, but the actual characters) are working together to create homes in another world. Due to the magical origins and powers of many of the characters, there are some fantasy and action elements involved.

Cover Corp published a new press release for Holoearth, showing off new screenshots of the game. From the screenshots, players can see how they will be able to control a Hololive character and explore the sandbox world.

Players can gather materials by doing things like chopping trees and defeating wild monsters. They can then use the materials to create various items, from a simple campfire to a detailed house. The latter will require a dedicated Architect Mode where players can place foundations and furnishings as they like. Once completed, players can show their creations with the Photo Mode.

Cover also published am early look at Holoearth gameplay footage on Hololive's YouTube channel. It showed a multiplayer session where Shirakami Fubuki, Ookami Mio, and A-chan try out the sandbox game.

In October 2021, Producer U explained that the Holoearth metaverse project will consist of three subprojects as the title's major features. Other than the sandbox game, it will also have an avatar creation system with various outfits and accessories. Cover will also add a communication lobby where players can form a party before entering the game.

Holoearth is currently under development for PC and mobile devices. Cover will release the mobile version later than the PC version. The company is also planning early access and public tests to let Hololive fans try out the sandbox game ahead of release.

Cover, the parent company of Vtuber group Hololive, officially detailed its plans for "the future" of its in-development Hololive Alternative transmedia project. In news posts written in English and Japanese on the Hololive Alternative website, "Producer U" laid out a brief look at Holoearth. It is a planned "metaverse" that will serve as the main project of Hololive Alternative.

According to Producer U, Holoearth is both the name of the metaverse project and the name of the fictional world of Hololive Alternative. As such, Holoearth will use "a variety of media" to bring that world to life. People will be able to experience the world alongside Hololive's performers.

An in-house development team at Cover is working on several projects. These include:

• An open-world sandbox game where players can adventure and live a "daily life."
• A communication lobby that serves as a "gateway" of sorts for Holoearth, where fans can meet and party up to play in the sandbox game. It'll also be an events space.
• An avatar creation system that fans can use to create their Holoearth avatars.

These will eventually be integrated into a single unified service. Development for Holoearth is currently targeting PCs, but mobile is planned. Cover expects development to take one or two years, with possible alpha and beta test periods for the subprojects.

Aside from the Holoearth metaverse, Hololive Alternative will also have other releases across various formats and channels. One includes the Holoearth Chronicles: Yamato Phantasia manga, and a new manga called Underworld Academy Overload. The previously debuted Holonometria "world lore archive" is scheduled to receive more content. Animated trailers and further announcements are scheduled for 2021 and 2022, in addition to a disc release of Mori Calliope's song "Dawn Blue", which was the theme of the first Hololive Alternative trailer.

Hololive Alternative and its Holoearth metaverse are in development. Individual Hololive Vtubers maintain their official YouTube channels and social media presences.
