A 1/7 scale figure of Yuki Nagato from the Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series is now available for pre-order. Good Smile Company is carrying this figure for Japan and North America.

Pre-orders will end on March 5, 2025. If you order from the Japanese store, it’ll cost 21,780 JPY and ship out in December 2025. Meanwhile, the North American version of Good Smile Company offers this figure for $141.99 and it’ll ship out in Q2 2026.

The figure is based on an illustration that Noizi Ito, the illustrator for the series, drew. It features Yuki reading a book while walking outdoors. Both her cardigan and her skirt look like they’re fluttering in the wind, and there’s a sparrow resting on top of Yuki’s head. The default version of the figure looks like she’s reading her book, but you can actually change out the face plate to make her look up at the viewer instead.

Yuki Nagato is one of the main characters of the long-running light novel and anime series Haruhi Suzumiya. She usually spends her time reading, and doesn’t tend to speak a lot to the more talkative of the SOS Brigade. As a humanoid interface, her mission on Earth is to monitor Haruhi, as well as investigate an explosion of data that occurred in the past. She is popular enough to become the main character of spin-off series The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan.

The Yuki Nagato scale figure from Haruhi Suzumiya is readily available for pre-order via Good Smile Company. The newest volume of the series, The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya, came out in November 2024.

C-Labo Gamers announced that it will set up a new temporary store to help celebrate the release of the new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel in late 2024. The store will be available both physically at Akihabara Gamers and online via the chain's website.

The novel volume in question is The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya. The 13th light novel volume in the series will appear simultaneously worldwide in Japanese and English on November 29, 2024. The newly-announced temporary store will also launch on the same day.

Both the physical and online storefronts will have the same bonus items. People who purchase at least ¥3,000 from the merchandise lineup can enter a raffle to win a bromide featuring one of the thirteen novel volume covers or a large acrylic board featuring the franchise's five main characters—Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru, Kyon, and Itsuki.

Here is the list of merchandise in the store, with the prices in Japanese yen:

The temporary store celebrating the release of The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya will appear at Gamers' physical Akihabara outlet and online shop from November 29, 2024, and it will remain open until December 15, 2024. People who purchase the items online can expect their orders to be delivered in early February 2025. The Gamers website recommends buyers outside Japan use a proxy address and from Tenso.

A new song and music video for the Haruhi Suzumiya series is in production. The announcement tweet from the official X (formerly known as Twitter) teased a new Haruhi dance for the Reiwa era.

The Haruhi dance in question refers to the dance that the characters perform in the ending of the The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime adaptation, “Hare Hare Yukai.” Many fans performed covers on sites like YouTube and Nico Nico Douga. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Aya Hirano, who voices Haruhi, made a tutorial video for how to perform the dance at home.

Like “Hare Hare Yukai,” the new song will be performed by Aya Hirano, Yuko Goto, and Minori Chihara. They’re the voice actresses for Haruhi, Mikuru, and Yuki, respectively. The announcement picture includes Kyon and Koizumi, but they will likely only appear as dancers in the music video.

Though the height of Haruhi’s popularity was in the mid-2000s, there has been a revival as of late due to the new The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya novel. It will come out on November 29, 2024, and it’ll come out simultaneously in Japanese and English. This is the direct sequel to the previous volume, The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya, which came out on November 25, 2020.

More information on the new Haruhi Suzumiya song and music video will come out in the near future; most likely, we’ll hear more about it later this month to coincide with the new light novel.

Yen Press announced that those waiting to read the new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel will be able to alongside Japanese readers. We already knew The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya will be a simulpub title, which means it will be released simultaneously in both English and Japanese, but now this pins down the publisher. It came up among other New York Comic Con 2024 reveals. 

The announcement went on to offer additional clarification about the process. This will only affect the English digital release of The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya, and not the physical copy of the light novel. The new story is set to debut in Japan on November 29, 2024. So someone will be able to go directly to Yen Press and look up the digital copy at launch to it from the storefront that works best for them.

Here’s the official announcement Yen Press shared during NYCC 2024. It confirmed this installment will feature three stories starring the series’ characters. 

This tracks, as Yen Press handled both the manga and light novels in the past. The most recently published light novel was The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya, which released in 2021. It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen manga based on it, as one of the last ones was The Celebration of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Digital copies of The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya will appear in English via Yen Press on November 29, 2024.

Kadokawa has confirmed the release date of The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya. The company will publish the new light novel on November 29, 2024. The announcement also mentioned that the release will be simultaneous worldwide. That means the light novel will be available in at least Japanese and English at launch.

The announcement also came with new illustrations of Mikuru Asahina and Yuki Nagato by Noizi Ito. This title will appear as the 13th volume of Nagaru Tanigawa's Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series, which first launched in 2003.

The story will continue straight off from the 12th volume—The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya—which came out simultaneously in Japanese and English on November 25, 2020. The four-year gap will be shorter than the one between The Intuition and the two-part The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya novels, which took nine years since the latter's releases in 2011.

Kadokawa initially revealed The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya in late September 2023. While the company confirmed that the new light novel has been in the works, it did not provide a release window back then. The release date was finally announced in almost a year after the first reveal.

The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya will be available worldwide on November 29, 2024.

FuRyu announced its next Haruhi Suzumiya figure, and it is a part of the BiCute Bunnies line that will take a famous character and put her in a bunny girl suit. It will be a prize figure found in Japanese arcades, and it will debut in January 2025. 

This figure of Haruhi features her shorter hairstyle with the familiar yellow ribbons. She has a black rabbit ear headband on and matching swimsuit. Like other figures in the line, it is expected to be about 10 inches tall (265mm). It is identical to the outfit she wore in the anime.

While there’s no word about a worldwide release of the Haruhi bunny suit figure, we’ve seen other versions of the character appear worldwide. For example, there are figmas and Nendoroids of her, and Good Smile Company recently released a scale figure of her based on her light novel appearances.

A few new Haruhi Suzumiya light novels have appeared over the years. One is The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya. That was released by Yen Press outside Japan in 2021. The next one is The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya, though there’s no release date for it just yet.

Kadokawa announced during the Sneaker Bunko 35th Anniversary Festa! that a new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel is currently in production, titled The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya. Currently, Kadokawa has no set release date for the light novel. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The light novel will include the short stories "Haruhi Suzumiya Theater" published in the Sneaker in 2004, and its sequel "Return of Haruhi Suzumiya Theater" published in the Sneaker in 2006. These two shot stories remained uncollected and with no continuation to their storylines for 17 years.

Illustrator Noizi Ito shared new artwork that highlights the theme of the light novel, featuring Haruhi in a white dress, Kyon in his school uniform, Yuki dressed as a rogue, Itsuki as a cowboy, and Mikuru as a space force officer.

Written by Nagaru Tanigawa, the light novel series focuses on a high schooler named Kyon as he interacts with Haruhi, a bored and erratic classmate who is unaware that she possesses the ability to alter the universe. Kyon is dragged into ing her club, the SOS Brigade, which also includes an alien, a time traveler, and an esper who are all tasked resolve any strange incidents caused by Haruhi and to make sure she never discovers her secret abilities.

Yen Press currently publishes the light novels in English under their Yen On imprint. The 12th light novel, The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya, released on November 25, 2020 after a 9-year hiatus. The series previously ran in the Sneaker, Kadokawa Shoten's light novel magazine that ran from 1998 to 2011. Kadokawa Shoten publishes the light novels in Japan under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint.

The anime adaption of the light novel series, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, was animated by Kyoto Animation and premiered in 2006 in Japan. Crunchyroll currently has the series available to stream on their service.

The Theater of Haruhi Suzumiya currently has no set release date, but is currently in production.

A new Haruhi Suzumiya figure is on the way, and this one is based on the art used for the light novels. In particular, Kadokawa based the KDcolle design on her look from The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya. It will appear in May 2022 in Japan and July 2022 in North America. It will cost ¥17,380 /$173.99.

This is a 1/7th scale Haruhi Suzumiya figure will be about nine inches tall. She will also offer the opportunity to choose which pose you use when you display her. You can have her smiling with her mouth open or closed. You can also position her with her arms folded across her chest or with her pointing her left arm with her right on her hip. Her hair is short, with yellow ribbons, and she has the yellow SOS Brigade armband around her left arm. She is wearing her normal school uniform.

The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya is going to appear worldwide in November 2020. But that’s not the only light novel entry coming back. Yen Press committed to a reprint of the whole series. Now, we have a timeframe. Things will all kick off in January 2021, when The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya returns to stores.

Yen Press’ Twitter announcement offered a general timeline for the paperback releases of the older novels and confirmed they will all use the Japanese original cover art for the first time.

Based on the tweets, here is the timeline for the first few volumes. Yen Press noted that more books in the series will be available between April and May 2021, followed by The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya in June 2021.

• January 2021: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
• February 2021: The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya
• March 2021: The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya

Details about The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya’s retail release came up during the announcement too. A hardcover version will be available, according to one tweet. Also, Yen Press said it will have a version of the latest novel with a cover that matches its original run of Haruhi Suzumiya books.

The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya will launch on November 25, 2020 worldwide, though Yen Press’ version will originally only be available digitally. The reprint of the previous novels will appear starting in January 2021 with the return of the first book, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

It is quite fitting that Tsuruya is on the cover this time. That’s because this book will have a new story in it called “Tsuruya’s Challenge.”

This isn’t the first time Tsuruya has graced the cover of a Haruhi Suzumiya light novel. She was on the front of The Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya with Kyon’s sister in the original run and the 2010 reprint.

Major characters often appear on the covers of Haruhi Suzumiya light novels. SOS Brigade Mikuru Asahina and Yuki Nagato show up quite often. While Kyon and Itsuki aren’t as commonly seen, Ryoko Asakura also showed up on a cover.

The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya will be here rather swiftly. It will get a simultaneous worldwide release on November 25, 2020, However, YenPress only committed to having the digital version of the light novel available on that day. A physical release is planned, though it doesn’t have a date for its debut yet. (Or if it will have the same Haruhi and Tsuruya cover art.) When it does appear, the other 10 novels in the series will also be reprinted.

Yen Press took to Facebook and Twitter to confirm that not only is a localization in the works, but the digital version will be available in English on the same day the latest one of the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels will launch in Japan: November 25, 2020.

This doesn’t mean there will be no physical release. Yen Press addressed that as well. A print version will also appear. It just doesn’t have a launch window for that version.

However, when it appears, it won’t be alone. The company announced it will bring back the other 10 Haruhi Suzumiya light novels. These will be new Yen On printings, to go along with the immediately available twelve volumes of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan.

As mentioned before, there will be three stories in this new installment. The two that were already available via other means are “Random Numbers” and “Seven Wonders Overtime.” The third story, which is entirely new, will be called “Tsuruya’s Challenge.”

Digital The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya English copies will be available on November 25, 2020, the same day the light novel will be released in Japan. Yen Press will release physical copies sometime after.

A new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel has been announced. This time, it’s a collection of stories about the heroine and SOS Brigade. The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya, known officially as Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokkan, will appear in Japan on November 25, 2020. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

We also know what will be in The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya. First, it will include “Random Numbers,” (“Atezuppo Numbers”), which appeared in Noizi Itou’s Haruhi Hyakka art book back in 2013. It also have the 2018 The Sneaker Legend issue’s “Seven Wonders Overtime” (“Nana Fushigi Overtime”) will be in there.

There will be one new story there. It is called “Tsuruya's Challenge” ("Tsuruya-san no Chosen"). As a reminder, Tsuruya is considered an honorary member of the SOS Brigade and is Mikuru’s best friend. She debuted in the third volume of the series, The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya, in the short story about the SOS Brigade playing baseball.

This will be the twelfth Haruhi Suzumiya light novel. The second half of The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya appeared in Japan in 2011. The English versions were handled by Yen Press.

The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya will launch in Japan on November 25, 2020. A new Twitter has also opened for the series. An English release for the final volume hasn’t been announced yet.
