Bandai Namco and Activision Blizzard announced that Gundam Wing Legendary Mobile Suit skins are now live in Overwatch 2. These can be purchased alone or in a Mega Bundle in the in-game shop. There is also a matching events that lets you earn items like a Gundamari weapon charm, Zero System spray, and other cosmetics live now. Both appear through May 12, 2025, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the anime series.

All single Legendary skin bundle purchases for this crossover cost 2,800 Overwatch Coins each. The Gundam Wing Mega Bundle with all four is 5,900 OC. Note that 2,200 OC is $19.99, and it is $49.99 for 5,700 OC.

Here’s the trailer highlighting the Gundam Wing Overwatch 2 skins in action. It begins by showing Mercy in the Wing Gundam Zero skin. After that, the Epyon Ramattra skin shows up. That’s followed by peek at Deathscythe Reaper. Finally, things close out with Tallgeese Soldier: 76 showing up.

This is one of many anime crossovers in Overwatch 2 so far. Past skins released for the game include ones for One Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop, and My Hero Academia.

Overwatch 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Gundam Wing event and bundles are live now until May 12, 2025. The Gundam Wing anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Gundam Evolution Season 3 is halfway through, and the new mid-season update will bring the Heavyarms Custom [EW] to the playable roster. Going by the name “Ignition," Bandai Namco announced this update will also bring new content additions and balance adjustments.

The particular version of the unit being added to the game will be the MS Unit XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Custom [EW] from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz movie. It is an upgraded version of the original Heavyarms piloted by Trowa Barton in the Gundam Wing TV series.

The preview shows that the Heavyarms Custom [EW] skillset will focus on high attack and mobility. It will have a Double Gatling Gun with infinite ammo and an overheat cap as its main weapon. The iconic Moonsault will also be added as a skill to move swiftly across the map.

Its G-maneuver ultimate attack will be a Hatch Full Open barrage. While active, the Heavyarms will storm the enemies with missiles while hovering in the air for a few seconds.

In February, Gundam Evolution developers announced that three new mobile suits would be released monthly throughout Season 3. The Heavyarms Custom [EW] is the second of the batch, previously followed by Gundam SEED’s Hyperion.

More information on the “Ignition” update will be shared during the Mission Briefing stream on March 3, 2023 at 10pm PT/1am ET.

Bandai collectibles brand Tamashii Nations is celebrating the Tamashii Nation 2022 event. It announced that several Gundam anime productions will be streaming for free for a limited time. The selection includes the Universal Century film Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon, all three episodes of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, and all three episodes of Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer. They are available to watch on the GundamInfo YouTube channel. They'll stay that way for about two more weeks, until November 21, 2022.

Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon is a compilation film of the 13-episode OVA series Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. First released in 1991, Stardust Memory takes place four years after the end of the One Year War in the original Gundam timeline, the Universal Century. In it, the remnants of the defeated Zeonic forces identify a secret project in the works at mobile suit company Anaheim Electronics. It is a Gundam designed to deliver nuclear warheads. Led by a former ace, Zeon carries out Operation Stardust, stealing the Gundam. The Earth Federation carrier Albion and Kou Uraki, a test pilot drawn into the fighting, must stop Zeon's plans before they can visit catastrophe upon the Earth.

Endless Waltz is a three-episode follow-up to Gundam Wing. Earth and the colonies have stopped fighting, uniting in the Earth Sphere Unified Nation. But though the war is over, the fighting isn't. A rebellion on a newly completed colony rises up, led by the daughter of Treize Khushrenada. The rebellion captures Relena, now a government minister. The Gundam pilots, who sent their mobile suits on course to the sun, must retrieve their weapons and go to battle one last time.

Endless Waltz is also notable for featuring significant redesigns to the main Gundam units. Though technically the same suits seen in the series, they all look quite different thanks to designer Hajime Katoki. For example, the Wing Gundam Zero features giant, detailed angelic wings, and so on.

Gundam SEED Stargazer takes place during the events of Gundam SEED Destiny, following the "Break the World" Incident wherein rogue Coordinators drop pieces of the Junius Seven colony on Earth's surface, causing great damage. In the chaos, a unit of Phantom Pain, an Earth Alliance special forces outfit, get involved with the of Project Stargazer, which is constructing a mobile suit intended for space exploration instead of war.

The Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, Gundam 0083, and Gundam SEED Stargazer anime are streaming until November 21, 2022. Previous limited GundamInfo streams include Char's Counterattack and Gundam Unicorn.

The familiy of Kirby Morrow announced the Canadian actor ed away at the age of 47. He was known for both his live action and voice acting performances, most notably for his roles in anime series like Inuyasha and Gundam Wing. The cause of death was not revealed. [Thanks, GateWorld and The Wrap.]

The Mount Royal University alumni got started in the industry as a voice actor. As IMDB pointed out, among his first roles were characters in Mobile Suit Gundam and MS Gundam: Char’s Counterattack. His first major role was Gundam Wing’s Trowa Barton, which would end up being a character he would play in subsequent miniseries and games after. His other notable anime roles include Van Fanel in Escaflowne, Miroku in Inuyasha, Yuki Aiba in Infinite Ryvius, Michelangelo in various Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Cyclops in X-Men Evolution, and Cole in Lego Ninjago. He also played Captain Dave Kleinman in Stargate Atlantis and Benny in Legion.

This means that Yashahime will likely be among Morrow’s final roles. Earlier in November 2020, the official cast announcement confirmed that he would reprise his role as Miroku, as would Richard Ian Cox as Inuyasha, Jill Michaels as Sango, Jillian Michaels as Shippo, and David Kaye as Sesshomaru. Episodes of the English dub are now streaming online.
