Cygames showed off some gameplay from Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising featuring Anila, the game's first new character. Anila was teased in a brief trailer aired during the Cygames Cup last week.

The latest reveal is a full gameplay trailer featuring the Divine General of the South-Southwest mixing it up.

In Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Anila uses her long polearm in combat, with generous involvement from her tame flock of sheep. She can send sheep running across the screen as ranged projectiles, or ride them forward to close a gap. She can also juggle foes on her polearm, and has a crashing pound attack that spawns a massive Japanese kadomatsu decoration that spawns a wave of sheep. Her ultimate move summons a stampede of white and black sheep to trample her enemies.

Anila was introduced to Granblue Fantasy in 2015 as a "Zodiac" character. The Zodiac characters are based on the Chinese Zodiac and are introduced each new year. She's voiced by Aoi Yuuki (Lucy in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Clementine in Overlord) in Japanese. In English she'll be voiced by Leona Renee, who in addition to voice acting has also done professional localization work on series like The Legend of Heroes, Ys, and Senran Kagura.

Besides the Anila gameplay trailer, Cygames also revealed that the next Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising reveal will be timed for Evo Japan. The event takes place between March 31, 2023 and April 2, 2023.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is in development for release on the PS4, PS5, and PC in 2023. The original game is available on the PC and PS4.

Cygames used the Granblue Fantasy festival event to announce a big news item, a new fighting game called Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising. It will be a separate game from Granblue Fantasy Versus, which will receive its final update on January 24, 2023. Rising will launch sometime in 2023 on the PS4, PS5, and PC.

The reveal trailer shows off gameplay from Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, starting with a fight between Katalina and Gran. Rising is not quite a "full sequel" to the original Granblue Fantasy Versus. Rising will include the current 24-character roster of the original Versus at launch. It will also be able to import Versus save data, meaning players who own the game won't lose their progress switching over. Unlike the original Versus, though, Rising will have rollback netcode implemented by design, as well as cross-platform play across PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam. According to comments by Creative Director Tetsuya Fukuhara, Cygames and Arc System Works' goals improve Granblue Versus effectively meant that they had to practically rebuild the game. This is why Rising is being treated (and sold) as a separate product.

However, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising will also have new content. These include more playable characters, as well as several new mechanics. One the announced mechanics is "Ultimate Skills", which are upgraded versions of Plus Skills. The graphics of the game have also been improved, with the goal of the overhaul being to get closer to the signature Granblue Fantasy art style. The story-based "RPG Mode" will have a new narrative to follow, as well as an abridged version of the original Versus RPG mode, to allow players to catch up with the story. The improvements also include an updated lobby system. The new lobby will be larger and have more activities.

One activity in the Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising lobby is Grand Bruise Legends, a minigame-based mode that uses players and their lobby avatars. The gameplay of Grand Bruise Legends looks similar to a Granblue-themed version of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

Developer Cygames announced that a new trailer for the action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink will release on the first day of the Granblue Fantasy FES 2022-2023 event. New information about the fighting game spin-off Granblue Fantasy Versus will also appear. Additionally, there will be other unspecified announcements. They are scheduled to appear during their live stream presentation, at 10:45 pm (PT) on January 20, 2023.

The announcement was made through the official Japanese Granblue Fantasy: Relink twitter . The new trailer for Granblue Fantasy: Relink and new information on Granblue Fantasy Versus will appear in a segment that will last an hour. This will be the first time that Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be available to the public in a playable state. Previously, Cygames announced that a PS5 demo would be available during the event. In June 2022, they announced the delay of the game into 2023 in order to bring a more polished experience to players.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. It will come out sometime in 2023. Granblue Fantasy FES 2022-2023 will run from January 20-22, 2023.

Cygames shared its schedule for Granblue Fantasy FES 2022-2023, which will include the latest information about Granblue Fantasy: Relink and a playable demo at the event. The event will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center in Tokyo, Japan. It will be held from January 20-22, 2022. Alongside information about Granblue Fantasy: Relink, new information about Granblue Fantasy Versus will also appear.

Information about both titles will appear on January 21, 2022. Information about them will appear during a one hour segment. However, further details have yet to be announced. That said, this will be the very first time Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be playable by the public through this trial. There is no indication that a demo will be made available outside of the event.

In June 2023, Cygames announced Granblue Fantasy: Relink would be delayed into 2023. The reason for the delay being that the developers are looking to create a more polished experience for players. Additionally, the developer stated that new information about the title would appear in December 2022. It is unclear if this has been pushed back, with new developments on the title to strictly appear at Granblue Fantasy FES 2022-2023.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink will release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC sometime in 2023.

The full array of EVO Japan 2023 main games has been revealed on Twitter, with Melty Blood: Type Lumina and Granblue Fantasy Versus among the final three. They’ll be ed by Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown. This brings the final total of main games at the event up to seven.

Meanwhile, in addition to EVO Japan 2023, Melty Blood: Type Lumina and Granblue Fantasy Versus appeared at EVO 2022.

It isn't possible to for EVO Japan 2023 just yet. That will begin at 12pm JST on November 20, 2022 (5am CET/7pm PT/10pm ET on November 19, 2022.) Folks will be able to go to the official site to sign up. This physical event will return following a break due to the pandemic.

EVO Japan will be held from March 31, 2023 until April 2, 2023. People intending to attend can head to Tokyo International Exhibition Center, also known as Tokyo Big Sight, in Tokyo’s Odaiba area.

More games are coming this month for PS Plus subscribers. In a blog post, Sony outlined the PS Plus September 2022 Games coming to the service. Leading the charge at the basic Essential tier of service are Ghost Games' Need for Speed Heat, Cygames and Arc System Works' Granblue Fantasy Versus, and Something We Made's BAFTA Award-winning TOEM.

Meanwhile, the PS Plus September 2022 games for the pricier Extra and tiers include some hits both new and older. These include Deathloop, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Rayman Legends, and Assassin's Creed Origins. tier subscribers will also gain more additions to the Classic Games Catalog. Of particular note is Sucker Punch's Sly Cooper series. The Extra and games arrive on September 20, 2022.

Players have until September 6, 2022 to claim the games from the August 2022 Essential-tier offering, which include Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 & 2, and Little Nightmares.

Back in December 2021, Arc System Works said people would see new gameplay systems in Granblue Fantasy Versus in Summer 2022. Now, there's an exact date for the additions. Granblue Fantasy Versus update 2.80 will appear on June 3, 2022. When it does, it will add Overdrive, Tactical Move: Backshift, and Tactical Move: Rush to the game. All three new actions rely on the Skybound Art (SBA) gauge.

There’s a video going over how each of these new battle actions work in Granblue Fantasy Versus. Folks can see the inputs and how they react with the help of Gran and Djeeta. First, Tactical Move: Rush shows up. It uses 50% of the SBA gauge and requires people to press L2 and the direction they are facing to dash forward. At the 52 second mark, the Tactical Move: Backshift shows up. It is a way to quickly dash backward. Like the Rush, it uses 50% of the SBA gauge. The inputs are similar too. You hold L2 and the direction away from the one you’re facing.

Finally, Overdrive comes up at the 1:25 mark. This is a “mega buff” that is triggered by pressing L2 and R2 when the SBA gauge is full. You can do it once. When you do that, you’ll be able to get increased attack power and your overhead attack will be faster. Your attacks will deal chip damage if blocked, but you won’t take any chip damage. Simple command cooldown will be shortened to match technical commands. You’ll also be able to immediately use your Skybound Art or Super Skybound Art.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is available for the PS4 and PC, and update 2.80 will appear on June 3, 2022.

The Granblue Fantasy Versus Vira and Avatar Belial DLC is on the way. Cygames announced that the add-ons will appear on December 14, 2021. People will be able to get them together as the Vira & Avatar Belial Additional Character Set. That same day, Lunalu will Granblue Fantasy Versus as part of the 2.70 update. Cygames also confirmed both basic and legendary editions of the game will be available.

Vira is a midrange character. She’ll use her sword attacks, both standard or transformed, to deal damage. There will also be a special scene between her and Katalina if she beats the former Erste Empire knight. Meanwhile, Avatar Belial is a new version of the existing DLC character that has lower cooldowns, but loses health if you use his skills.

Meanwhile, Lunalu is the random select character in Granblue Fantasy Versus. If you pick her, then she will "draw" a different playable character for you to use each round.

The current roap for the game suggests information showing your connection quality will appear in Spring 2022, followed by new gameplay systems in Summer 2022.

Finally, there will be two versions of the game to get starting December 14, 2021. The standard edition is $19.99 and includes the base game. However, for $49.99 you can get a version that includes every season 1 and 2 DLC character and Vira and Avatar Belial.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is available for the PS4 and PC, and Vira and Avatar Belial will appear as DLC on December 14, 2021. Lunalu will be a part of a free update and act as a random character. There's also an official playable character survey to take to discuss your favorite characters.

Cygames confirmed that the next DLC character for the fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus will be Vira. The announcement was made during the Granblue Fantasy special summer livestream event held on August 7, 2021. XSEED then revealed she would appear in December 2021.

The announcement consisted of little more than a character reveal during the stream. Those interested can check out the stream. The reveal appears at roughly the 3-hour-10-minute mark.

The reveal also included a bit of art for Vira as she appears in Granblue Fantasy Versus. Her clothing and outfit match her appearance in the core Granblue Fantasy game, though the key art suggests that she can transform herself in some way. This may be a reference to her special power Luminiera Merge, wherein Vira merges with the primal beast Luminiera (known as "Chevalier" in Japan) to enhance her abilities.

Vira is the Lord Commander of the fortress city of Albion and an old friend of Katalina, who is part of the core roster of Granblue Fantasy Versus. Vira considers Katalina to be an older sister of sorts and regards her with an obsessive reverence. She's voiced by Asami Imai, who also played Kurisu Makise in Steins;Gate and Chihaya Kisaragi in The Idolm@ster.

As a character who's been in the game since shortly after its 2014 launch, Vira is one of the oldest and more popular characters in Granblue Fantasy. She also is someone with many variants in the game, with seven playable versions available for players to acquire. The recent Anniversary survey conducted by Famitsu earlier in 2021 placed Vira in a running tie for seventh most popular female character.

Vira will come to Granblue Fantasy Versus in December 2021. The game itself is immediately available on the PC and PS4. The most recently debuted DLC character was the Eternal Seox, who closed out the Season 2 slate of additions.

Cygames has announced the broadcast date for its yearly Granblue Fantasy Summer Stream live event. The stream will take place on August 7, 2021, at 18:00 Japan time. The news comes from an announcement posted to the official website.

Granblue Fantasy summer streams are typically important, as they are where Cygames developers like to pack in their biggest announcements. Though the content of the event hasn't been announced, viewers can expect news about Granblue Fantasy and Granblue Versus content, and possibly an update about the status of Granblue Fantasy Re: Link, the long-in-development action spinoff.

Other parts of the program also involve a number of guest stars, usually actors that voice characters from the game. Cygames confirmed the guest list for the 2021 summer stream.

Seox of the Six-Ruin Fist is now in Granblue Fantasy Versus, cutting into the game as its last Character 2 DLC character. The masked man is available alone for $6.99 or in the $34.99 second . The platform you’re on determines how much extra DLC you will get. Also, to celebrate his debut, there’s a new trailer looking at him too.

Every version of the Seox DLC gives you five things in Granblue Fantasy Versus. You’ll always get him as a playable character, as well as a Lobby Avatar and Star Character Icon based on him. There will also be two more RPG mode quests where he comes up. The PS4 version gives people two extras with the add-on. They’ll get a sticker of Seox. They also will have an SSR Character Weapon Draw Ticket to use in the game.

With Seox’s debut, there are now 11 extra characters. Granblue Fantasy Versus Character 1 added Beelzebub, Djeeta, Narmaya, Soriz, and Zooey. Then, when Character 2 rolled out, it brought along Anre, Belial, Cagliostro, Eustace, Seox, and Yuel.

Cygames announced Seox will claw his way into Granblue Fantasy Versus. The Eternal will release as the final fighter in the game's Character 2 DLC. The master of the claw will launch in North America on July 12, 2021.

Aptly releasing as the sixth fighter in the second DLC bundle, Seox will round out the Granblue Fantasy Versus Character 2. Along with the new fighter, buyers will receive an accompanying Lobby Avatar, one Star Character Icon, and two extra RPG Mode Quests. Additionally, players on PS4 will also get one SSR Character Weapon Draw Ticket and Seox's Sticker.

Cygames also announced that Granblue Fantasy Versus reached a milestone sales figure. The title has sold 500,000 units worldwide when combining sales on PS4 and PC via Steam. To commemorate, Granblue Fantasy Versus will receive an update alongside Seox which will include two new stages for free. Cygames also teased fans at the end of the new trailer; there will be a new character reveal in August 2021.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Players can purchase Seox as an individual fighter for $6.99 or as part of the Character 2 bundle for $34.99. Previous fighters in the second wave of DLC include Anre, Yuel, Cagliostro, Belial, and Eustace.

As promised in the initial reveal of Eustace as a Granblue Fantasy Versus DLC character in March 2021, Cygames published a new trailer that showed the character in more detail on April 15, 2021. [Thanks, Gamer!]

Cygames also added Eustace's page on the game's Japanese official website. Voiced by Kazuya Nakai, the character will fight with a combination of arsenals from an Assault Knife to his trademark Flamek Thunder rifle. His Super Skybound Art, Dead-End Fall, will have him charge the rifle and shoot it upwards.

Eustace is the tenth overall DLC character and the fifth to be included in Character 2. The four previous characters in the same — Belial, Cagliostro, Yuel, and Anre — are available immediately. There is one more DLC character in this that has still yet to be revealed. Cygames will publish a new trailer at the Rage GBVS 2021 Summer tournament, which has its semifinals scheduled for June 2021.

Just like other DLC characters, Eustace will come with his own lobby avatar, star character icon, and a couple of new quests. The DLC buyers will also get a serial code to obtain a sticker and an SSR character weapon draw ticket on the Granblue Fantasy mobile game.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC. Eustace will the game's roster through DLC on April 20, 2021.

The Eternals founder Anre will  Granblue Fantasy Versus as its next DLC character. Cygames and Arc System Works revealed a trailer for the Anre DLC, which will release on January 26, 2021.

We previously got a glimpse of Anre in the Yuel DLC trailer at Granblue Fantasy Fes 2020. The developers described him as a "keep-away character with long-reaching normals," and we see that displayed in his introduction trailer. He also has several parries based on moves from Granblue Fantasy.

Anre, who is voiced by Ryusei Nakao, is a Defense character in Granblue Fantasy. His Granblue Fantasy Versus playstyle mostly revolves around his defensive move set from the original game. "Fleeting Spark" and "Arm the Bastion" are two of Anre's skills used to reduce damage taken in Granblue Fantasy. In Granblue Fantasy Versus, he can use both skills to nullify attacks and follow up with heavy hits of his own.

The Anre DLC includes a lobby avatar, star character icon, and two additional quests. It also comes with a serial code to get a bonus SSR Character Weapon Draw Ticket and an Anre sticker in Granblue Fantasy.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
