Plex has revealed a new figure of the Type-3 Kiryu Mechagodzilla adorned with the Evangelion Unit-01 colors. The company has also opened pre-orders for the figure on the Japanese Bandai web store. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

The figure's official name will be "Toei Great Kaiju Series - Type-3 Kiryu (2002) Heavy Armament Type, EVA Unit-01 Color." It will be available with a price tag of 30,800 yen (~$203). The figure will have an overall height of around 29 cm (11.42 in) and a length of 36 cm (14.17 in).

Plex did not mention whether the figure would have any movable parts. Instead, it confirmed a focus on the lighting gimmicks. The figure's package will come with a power supply unit to light up the yellow eyes. In addition, the owner will be able to use a blacklight/ultraviolet flashlight to make the green parts glow with fluorescent effects in the dark.

Plex has also confirmed that this new figure will be part of the Godzilla VS Evangelion crossover project. Earlier in May 2024, Bandai revealed an Evangelion Unit-01 Burning G Awakening Form figure, which shows Shinji's unit getting fused with the Godzilla.

The Toei Kaiju figure of the 2002 Type-3 Kiryu with Heavy Armaments and Evangelion Unit-01 colors will be available in February 2025.

Bandai revealed a new figure of Evangelion Unit 01 based on its fusion with Godzilla from the Godzilla vs Evangelion crossover, which is officially known as the Burning G Awakening Form. The company has also opened pre-orders for this figure on the Japanese Bandai store. This figure will cost 38,500 yen (~$245.80). [Thanks, Inside Games!]

Even though this figure will be part of the Toei 30cm series, its actual measurements will sur that size. The Evangelion-Godzilla fusion figure will have an overall height of around 40cm (~15.75 in), which is measured to the top of the right shoulder pylon. It will also have an approximate total width of 35cm (~13.78 in) and length of 57 cm (~22.44 in), the latter of which is counted from the Godzilla tail.

This figure takes inspiration from the crossover fusion that originally appeared in 2022. Khara and Toho collaborated with pachinko machine makers Bisty and Fields to release the pachinko game titled P Godzilla vs Evangelion ~G Cell Awakening~.

Bandai will close pre-orders for the Evangelion Unit 01 Burning G Awakening Form figure from Godzilla vs Evangelion on June 24, 2024. The company will start shipping the finished products in September 2024.

The crossover between Evangelion and Godzilla will appear again in Japan's pachinko centers. Khara and Toho revealed that they are working with Bisty and Fields to release a new pachinko machine titled P Godzilla VS Evangelion ~G Cell Awakening~. It will feature a new story that includes an original fusion between Evangelion Unit-01 and Godzilla.

The pachinko title's storyline will have events from Godzilla and Evangelion take place in the same universe, with the former happening earlier. After a mysterious disappearance, the eponymous kaiju will reappear in the middle of the battle between NERV and the Angels. King Ghidorah will also appear as the leader of the Angels. Godzilla will then launch a beam toward Evangelion Unit-01's core that gives the latter a new transformation with the kaiju's features in order to fight King Ghidorah on a more equal footing.

Other than a new story, the pachinko machine will also feature three new songs. Rei Ayanami's voice actress, Megumi Hayashibara, will perform two new songs, "Shuuketsu no Hate ni (At the End of the Gathering)" and "Shuuketsu no Toki ~Territory~ (The Time of Gathering)," while the "Cruel Angel's Thesis" singer, Yoko Takahashi, will bring her newest song, "Teardrops of Hope."

The collaboration between Godzilla and Evangelion has been widely known since 2016, and most of the crossover projects appeared throughout the year. The collaboration also appeared in two Japanese mobile games: Monster Strike and Super Robot Wars X-Omega. While the latter title is no longer available, it featured an Evangelion Unit-01-colored MFS-3 MechaGodzilla in addition to the Godzilla itself.

P Godzilla VS Evangelion ~G Cell Awakening~ will appear in pachinko slot centers in Japan.
