The latest FFVII Ever Crisis banner for the Ever Crisis Academy event that turns characters into high school students and teachers is live, and it involves Aerith getting a Bamboo Sword weapon and Seventh High Team Cetra Uniform gear costume. Both are five-star pieces of equipment. It is now live in-game until May 28, 2025, and once again the Glenn Ogrekiller Ultimate Weapon remains the other focus option on it.

The Seventh High Team Cetra Uniform costume for Aerith not only gives her a customized school uniform with long skirt, but involves her dying the ends of her brown hair pink, getting a flower tattoo on her chest, and wearing a black mask with white fang pattern design for her face. Its R Abilities are Boost HP, which boosts her health, and Team Leader’s Mask that increases Water Ability Damage by 30% and boosts her Magic Ability Damage by 20% if her Attack Stance Command Gauge is maxed out.

With the Team Leader’s Bamboo Sword, it gives Aerith the Water Orb Blast C Ability in FFVII Ever Crisis. That deals 330% Mag Water Damage to all enemies and, if her health is over 50%, increases Water Damage dealt.

As a reminder, Aerith is also a boss in the FFVII Ever Crisis Academy Seven event. We fight both her and Barret “Mr. B” Wallace during that storyline. 

While the Aerith, Barret, and Tifa weapons are locked behind banners, some from this event can be earned. These are ones for Glenn and Sephiroth.

The next part of the Final Fantasy VII high school AU scenario for FFVII Ever Crisis kicked off, and this time it involves the PE teacher Barret Wallace Ever Crisis Academy Seven weapon and gear. We can get the five-star Teacher’s Paper Fan and Seventh High Athletic Gear outfit for him from it. It also features the five-star Ogrekiller Ultimate Weapon for Glenn, just like the Tifa banner.

The Barret Teacher’s Paper Fan weapon in FFVII Ever Crisis features the C Ability Winds of Discipline. It hits all enemies and deals wind damage, and their resistance to that element will be decreased and he gets a Veil shield if his health is below 50%. The R Abilities on it are Boost PATK and Boost Wind Potency. 

As for the gear, Barret can wear Seventh High Athletic Gear. This looks like a blue tracksuit. It features the R Abilities Physical and Magic Ward and Gym Teacher’s Whistle. The former increases phys and mag defense by 15%, while the latter increases wind ability damage by 30% and increases phys ability damage if his Attack Stance Command Gauge is at max when he’s wearing this.

In addition to the banner, another weapon we can earn in the FFVII Ever Crisis event Ever Crisis Academy Seven is now available. We can trade in items to get a five-star Set Square for Glenn. This looks like the type of ruler, though he’ll wield it like an axe.

The other weapon we can earn is the Folding Ruler, which behaves like a sword, for Sephiroth.

The Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis high school alternate universe Ever Crisis Academy Seven event kicked off on April 30, 2025, and the free weapon we can earn for young Sephiroth from FFVII The First Soldier is the Folding Ruler. This ties in with the other confirmed weapons, which include a harisen paper fan for Barret (Mr B) and a Class President’s Bracelet for Tifa. In addition to the event being live, there is also a first FFVII Ever Crisis Academy banner with weapons for Tifa and Glenn and an Escalation Challenge boss fight with Mr B and Big Bad Aerith.  

The storyline for the AU is called Ever Crisis Academy Seven: Episode - Brawler is how someone gets the new Sephiroth Folding Ruler weapon in FFVII Ever Crisis. While it is a folding item, it is fully extended so he can use it as a sword during a fight. It and another wallpaper of characters dressed in school uniforms will be rewards for going through this storyline and its missions. The Escalation Challenge fight will include Role Stream Noble Memories for upgrading characters. The Healer role is specifically mentioned, so it’s uncertain if Attacker, er, and Tank items will also appear as rewards.

As for the new Tifa FFVII Ever Crisis Ever Crisis Academy Seven banner, it features the Glenn Ogrekiller Ultimate weapon, her Class President’s Bracelet, and her Seventh High School Uniform gear. Her new weapon features the Student Council Windstrike C Ability, which deals wind damage to a single enemy and increases all allies physical attack as long as her health is over 50%. The Seventh High School Uniform has a  Physical and Magic Ward R Ability that increases her phys and mag defense by 15%, and it references her costume’s Chocobo heart earrings with a Class President’s Earring R Ability that increases wind damage by 30% and gives a 20% boost to phys ability damage when her Attack Stance Command Gauge is maxed out.

Ever since Square Enix announced the FFVII Ever Crisis alternate universe (AU) high school Ever Crisis Academy event based on the April Fools’ Day 2025 joke, its been teasing new elements for it, and one will be a boss fight with Aerith and Mr. B. We’ll need to take down the PE teacher and Team Centra leader to complete the event.

In this event storyline, Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, and Zack are students at Midgard Seventh High School, and Cloud’s goal is sur Zack as Midgard’s Brawler: First Class in FFVII Ever Crisis. However, Mr. B wants more students for his baseball team in hopes of defeating Shinra Private Academy’s crew. It looks like we’ll need to help “Cloud” achieve his goals by taking down Aerith and Mr. B. The teaser video doesn’t show any of the moves the duo will use in the fight. However, we do see what it looks like before the bout begins.

Prior to this reveal, a few others came up. Square Enix shared a Shinra Private Academy wallpaper with student versions of Sephiroth and Angeal. There was also a Countdown Campaign with six Ever Crisis Academy Countdown Custom Boxes. The Treasure Hunt Season 21 also features a Beneath the Famed Seventh High Tree wallpaper that shows Tifa and Aerith both waiting under a cherry blossom tree in their school uniforms.

As a reminder, not every FFVII Ever Crisis is confirmed for this event. When Square Enix first revealed it on April 1, 2025, it didn’t include Cait Sith, Cid, Red XIII, Vincent, or Yuffie, so it is unknown if they’ll show up in this storyline.

For April Fools’ Day 2025, Square Enix made up a Final Fantasy VI high school AU (alternate universe) for FFVII Ever Crisis called Rival Fantasy Ever Crisis Academy Seven, and now it will turn it into an actual in-game event. There will be an original story, equipment and costumes for characters that dress them like their school days counterparts. The event is set to debut in May 2025, ahead of a June 2025 rerun of the FFVI crossover and a August 2025 debut of a Dragon Quest Tact crossover.

At the moment, only the Japanese social media shared the reveal of the FFVII Ever Crisis high school AU event and characters, but the Japanese and global events happen pretty much simultaneously. Square Enix kicked things off with a trailer showing the concept of Midgard Seventh High School gym teacher Barret Wallace attempting to put together a baseball team capable of beating Shinra Private Academy. Cloud Strife doesn’t care about baseball and wants to become Midgard’s Brawler: First Class at school, even though his childhood friend Tifa Lockhart is concerned about him. Meanwhile, Zack Fair is the actual Brawler: First Class at the moment, and Aerith Gainsborough is the delinquent leader of Team Cetra. Barret’s influence is potentially going to result in them all working together.

The first teaser trailer and images confirmed some of the FFVII Ever Crisis high school AU featured characters with themed equipment and weapons and also showed them in action. Tifa and Aerith will get school uniform gear and weapons, while Barret will get his PE teacher jumpsuit and a harisen paper fan weapon instead of a more traditional gun arm. There will also be special home screen wallpapers, with one confirmed one showing Shinra Private Academy music teacher Glenn Lodbrok with students Sephiroth and Angeal Hewley.

Square Enix announced that we’ll finally get to see how Sephiroth got the sword Masamune in a Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis update to the FFVII The First Soldier storyline. Everything comes up in Episode 2, Chapter 3, which will launch in-game on April 16, 2025. However, given that it appears at 7pm PT/10pm ET, it’s possible most of us won’t actually play and see it until April 17, 2025. 

To go along with the update, there’s a new teaser trailer on social media. It only consists of clips from the chapter’s story scenes. In it, Sephiroth is heading into ruins with Alissa, Angeal, and Bachman. Both Alissa and Angeal seem cautious about the endeavor, hinting at the danger. Meanwhile, a fight we’ll face is hinted at by Bachman, as he notes the group needs to defeat monsters sealed in statues to access the sword. Things close out with a cinematic of Sephiroth approaching his trademark sword in FFVII The First Soldier.

There’s no word yet on what sorts of banners we might see accompany this update. However, some Easter and spring-themed equipment like Lucia’s Dealer’s Tailcoat, her Rifle of the Hunt, Cid’s Dark Flyer, and his Dragoon Lance are available on a banner until April 30, 2025. We also saw Loveless-inspired items at the start of 2025.

For April Fools’ Day 2025, Square Enix created a Final Fantasy VII high school AU (alternate universe) scenario for FFVII Ever Crisis called Ever Crisis Academy. It reimagines Midgar as Midgard, with characters like Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Zack, Angeal, and Sephiroth as students at Midgard Seventh Heaven High School and Shinra Private Academy. This comes complete with free wallpapers and a complex relationship chart.

Midgard Seventh Heaven High School is a school for delinquents in this FFVII Ever Crisis AU. Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Zack are all students there. Zack is the current Brawler First Class at the academy, but Cloud wants to steal that spot from him. Meanwhile, Tifa is class president there. However, a teacher who is coach for the baseball team named Barret wants to recruit all four of them to form an ideal team capable of defeating Shinra Private Academy.

As for Shinra Private Academy, Sephiroth and Angeal are both students there. Both are part of the student council. Glenn is an art teacher, Matt teaches both political science and economics, and Lin teaches biology. 

You can see the full relationship chart below. It is divided up into the Midgard Seventh Heaven High School and Shinra Private Academy sides. The only connection between the two is between Barret and Glenn, so we don't know how high schooler Cloud feels about fellow student Sephiroth.

Square Enix confirmed that a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth crossover would come back to FFVII Ever Crisis alongside the PC port’s debut, and now the Loveless Aerith gear and weapon inspired by her costume from the game are here. As a reminder, these items are based on her performance at the Gold Saucer. We can pull for them via the gacha until February 26, 2025.

The new banner features three items. One weapon is the Gambanteinn staff for Aerith based on the play. The other is the Barret Missing Score Ultimate weapon. Finally, you can dress Aerith in the Loveless Songstress dress in FFVII Ever Crisis. 

The Gambanteinn is designed to help Aerith and buff the party better. Its C Ability is Paeon, which heals the whole party and buffs their physical attack. It also will increase the ATB gauge for everyone except her by one when used, provided her health is low enough. Its R Abilities are Boost HEAL, to increase healing potency, and Buff/Debuff Extension to make her Paeon physical attack buff last longer.

As for the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Loveless Songstress gear, this Aerith costume is designed to help with her healing and buffing in FFVII Ever Crisis. The one R Ability is ATB Boost, which increases it by a certain amount when a battle starts depending on the level, so she can use skills faster. Meanwhile, the Soothing Song one increases buff and debuff effect duration while also offering a boost to healing potency. 

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on PCs and mobile devices. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available on the PS5 and PC. The FFVII Loveless crossover between the two is live now, with the Aerith gear and weapon banner in-game until February 26, 2025.

While Final Fantasy VII is already present in FFVII Ever Crisis, Square Enix announced a special crossover celebrating the Rebirth PC release. Starting on January 29, 2025, there will be Gold Saucer inspired gear for Aerith, Barret, and Yuffie, as well as an event tied to the Loveless performance in the game. A trailer is already live, and we have an idea how the costumes will look.

First, here is the official announcement trailer going over the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth event coming to FFVII Ever Crisis and showing the Loveless performance and Aerith, Barret, and Yuffie gear. It starts with Cait Sith acting as the “Fool” narrator for the play and crossover. From there, we see both the gameplay and event segments that show the recreation of the play. 

The other reveal for the event goes over the banner schedule that will involve the Aerith, Barret, and Yuffie Gold Saucer and Loveless gear from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth heading to FFVII Ever Crisis. Aerith’s banner will be first on January 29, 2025. That gives us a chance to get Loveless Songstress. Yuffie will get the Wutai’s Idol outfit she wears when we first get to the Gold Saucer in the remake starting on February 5, 2025. Finally, Barret’s Dragon King Varvados attire comes up in a February 12, 2025 banner.

This is the first crossover of 2025 in the game. The last one appeared in November 2024. It involved Final Fantasy VI.

Square Enix shared more insights into the new features that will accompany the debut of Cid Highwind in the FFVII Ever Crisis storyline for Final Fantasy VII, and the trailers show him using a Rocket Lance and wearing astronaut gear. As a reminder, when the character worked for Shinra, he was a part of the Shinra Space Program and would have flown the No. 26 rocket.

The new Cid Rocket Lance and astronaut gear show up in two FFVII Ever Crisis trailers highlighting how the new Enfeeble debuff and Stop effect are tied to abilities on the weapon. In each case, we get a pretty clear view of the new polearm that will be a part of an weapon banner, as well as his attire that will likely be included on the same one.

First, we can see both items in the video highlighting Cid’s Cosmic Burst attack. This applies the Enfeeble ailment as he deals non-elemental magic damage to one enemy. When Enfeeble is active, other debuffs will be even stronger and weaken a foe further.

This also comes up in the Stop trailer. We get to watch Cid use the Hyper Jump attack that includes the Stop status ailment that forces a single opponent to halt for at least eight seconds after it lands. The clear look at the equipment here comes up at the 21 second mark.

The roster of original Final Fantasy VII characters is growing in FFVII Ever Crisis, as Cid Highwind is about to the cast. He marks the last major character from the party to appear. We’ll see him and chapter 8 of that entry’s storyline in-game on January 15, 2025.

Since the Cid announcement is so new, we don’t know about his initial weapons and gear yet. There is a first trailer for the update, however. It begins by showing a story segment from Chapter 8: An Encounter with the Past. In it, Cloud and the party meets Cid for the first time and gains access to the Tiny Bronco. We also get to see him perform one of his in-battle attacks, highlighting his 3D model for the first time. The appearance seems to be based on his more recent look from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. (While he wasn’t playable in that game, he does show up to assist for some flights.) The end of the trailer teases that the mobile version of the storyline will also include multiple Gold Saucer date experiences, with both Aerith and Tifa ones highlighted.

The last playable character to Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis was Angeal Hewley in FFVII The First Soldier. This was a younger version of him than the one we meet in Crisis Core. The last FFVII character to was Vincent Valentine.

The FFVII Ever Crisis New Year’s event for 2025 kicked off, and it involves a new take on an old boss and weapons and kimono gear for Aerith and Tifa. Both characters’ new equipment appear on the same banner alongside Tifa’s Heart Ultimate weapon, making it easier to possibly get one or the other. That will be available in-game until January 22, 2025. 

Tifa gets the Blue Daffodil Gloves weapon and Blue Daffodil Attire kimono in FFVII Ever Crisis. The weapon has the C Ability Blue Florescent Flurry. That deals non-elemental physical damage to one enemy and is the first weapon in-game to include the Weakness Exploitation buff. Her new gear has the New Year’s Mastery and Reprieve R Abilities. The former increases all elemental ability damage, while Reprieve revives her if she falls in battle.

Aerith, meanwhile, now can equip the Crimson Staff and Festive Crimson Attire kimono in FFVII Ever Crisis. Its C Ability is Crimson Florescence. That deals non-elemental magic damage to all enemies, increases her MATK, and decreases enemies’ MDEF if her health is over 70%. Her gear has the Reprieve R Ability, just like Tifa’s. It also has New Year’s Protection, which increases her HP by 10% and Healing Potency by 20%. 

This is the trailer for the Crimson Staff and Festive Crimson Attire.

There is a Limit Break Step Up Draw promotion in effect for this banner. Steps one, four, and six involve free 10 draws with one or more guaranteed four-star weapons. Steps three and five guarantee at least one five-star. Step seven lets you choose  either Tifa’s Blue Daffodil Gloves or Aerith’s Crimson Staff. There can be two loops of this, to allow you to get both weapons.

There’s also a general trailer for the FFVII Ever Crisis 2025 New Year’s event that shows what to expect from Happy New Year: Massive Mochi Mayhem. That started on December 31, 2024. The themed boss this time is the Mochi Scorpion, which is based on the Scorpion Sentinel from the original Final Fantasy VII storyline. People can earn a Chocobo Paddle sword for Cloud by going through it.

This year, Cloud is getting a Christmas outfit as part of the FFVII Ever Crisis 2024 holiday event. The latest banner features his Holiday Blade sword and Holiday Outfit gear. Both can only be acquired on the season banners until December 31, 2024.

First, the Cloud Holiday Blade banner with Holiday Outfit gear is also features the Yuffie Ultimate Weapon known as Conformer again. This has been the trend for all of the Christmas banners in FFVII Ever Crisis this year, such as the ones for Yuffie and Vincent. 

The Holiday Blade prioritizes Wind-based attacks, rather than the icy ones we’d expect from the season. It has the C Ability Twister Blade tied to it. When used, it deals magic-based Wind damage to one enemy. The amount dealt will be higher if it is debuffed. It also features the Boost MATK and Boost Wind Pot R Abilities, which are both designed to increase that damage further. Some of its S Abilities include MATK and Sigil boosts. 

As for the Holiday Outfit, this Christmas suit for Cloud in FFVII Ever Crisis is designed to also increase damage dealt with his Holiday Blade and Twister Blade. It has the R Abilities Windstrike Arcanum and Boost Wind Pot tied to it, both designed to increase Wind damage and abilities tied to that element.

To go along with Cloud’s new equipment, there’s also a new teaser trailer. This brief FFVII Ever Crisis video shows him in the new costume while using the new sword’s Twister Blade attack.

The FFVII Ever Crisis new Christmas costumes and equipment continues to roll out for the holiday season, and the latest banner adds Vincent gear, a gun for him, and a Volcanic Heat sword for Angeal. It also offers the new Yuffie Ultimate Weapon called Conformer. That banner runs December 11-31, 2024 in-game, alongside the rerun of the Santa Tifa items.

The new costume for Vincent in FFVII Ever Crisis is the Holiday Formal Wear gear, and his weapon is a Holiday Garm gun. The outfit has two R Abilities. One is Boost Fire Pot., which boosts damage dealt by fire attacks by 15 points. Flameblade Arcanum boosts that type of fire damage by 10 points. The Holiday Garm gun has a Hellhound Shot C Ability, which deals fire damage to a single enemy, which could be increased if a debuff is in effect on them. That attack also increases his Limit Gauge. Its R Abilities are Boost PATK and Boost Fire Pot. 

As for the Angeal weapon in FFVII Ever Crisis, Volcanic Heat has a Volcanic Swing C Ability attached to it. That deals fire damage to an enemy. The attack also applies Veil to heal Angeal when used and reduces the enemy’s fire resistance if Angeal’s health is over 50%. Its R Abilities are Boost PATK and Boost Fire Pot. as well.

We already knew that the 2023 holiday weapons and gear would return in FFVII Ever Crisis, and now Santa Tifa is home for Christmas with some updates. People can pick up the Fairy of the Holy Flame gear and Holy Flame Gloves weapon again, as the banner returns on December 11, 2024. 

Now, as a reminder, in the past the Fairy of the Holy Flame Santa outfit for Tifa included two FFVII Ever Crisis R Abilities. One is Boost PATK for 5pt, to increase her physical attacks and abilities. The other was Frostblade Arcanum 10pt, which would increase the amount of damage any of her ice-based attacks would deal. These are designed to pair well with the matching Holy Flame Gloves’ Freezing Blow C Ability, which deals ice and physical damage to a single target. 

The change for 2024 is a relatively minor one. The Boost PATK R Ability is getting a buff. Instead of only offering a 5pt boost, it is going up to 10pt. This puts it on par with the bonus added to ice-based attacks. In general, it makes the Fairy of the Holy Flame Santa gear more viable for a Tifa with an ice or physical-type weapon year round in FFVII Ever Crisis, and not just at Christmas time.
