The physical copies of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collections for the Switch and PS4 are now both on sale on Amazon. The ones sold through the official Square Enix store on the site are 33% off. This means it is $49.99 for for each one, rather than $74.99. This is on par with some of the lowest prices for the six-game compilation so far.

These retail copies of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster initially ended up being pretty rare, as at first Square Enix only sold the Switch and PS4 copies outside Japan through its official site. That first run was limited and sold out. In Japan, physical copies were available with an English language option, and other retailers would ship them worldwide. However, Square Enix started selling another run in October 2024 that ended up being more widely available. 

When you get this collection, you’re getting the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster versions of FFI, FFII, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, and FFVI. As a bonus, the physical copy includes a sheet of stickers as well. This features 12 stickers of character sprites of heroes and, in the case of FFVI’s Kefka, villains from the included entries. All copies have that sheet, and it isn’t a first-run bonus.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster sale on physical Switch and PS4 copies on Amazon is live now for a limited time, and the games are available digitally on the Switch, PS4, PC, and mobile devices.

Square Enix shared updates for each of the six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games, with each of the PC versions on Steam patched on March 5, 2025. In many cases, it involves some minor bug fixes or known issues addressed. However, FFIII and FFVI both feature some bigger changes too. [Thanks, Wario64!]

One of the issues is a universal one that is applied to every game. The mini-map on/off setting was broken in every game. Now it will work as intended. There are also general “improvements” to the UI and control schemes across the board. Apparently every game also had a possible progression issue due to certain inputs or circumstances or with regards to achievements, and those are fixed. The original game and FFII experienced the fewest changes. 

The other Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster PC games experienced more notable additions or alterations after Square Enix patched them on Steam. So in FFIII, you can now boost your Job Level for the first time. The companion characters dialogue ended up being fixed too. You won’t lose Float in dungeons when moving from one room or area to another, so it will last as long as it is supposed to, in FFIV. When you play FFV, you’ll now see when weapons can be either enchanted or two-handed ones. 

FFVI featured some of the most changes. However, while there is an addition involving EXP to ensure characters who re the party after story-based absences stay on-par with current allies. The event between Celes and Cid ended up being addressed too. There was also a major fix regarding equipment effects that weren’t showing up if a character was knocked out. 

The six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices. The Switch and PS4 versions also appeared physically.

Square Enix Announced it is part of the Microsoft Black Friday sale for Xbox consoles, and all of the Xbox Series X Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are part of it. The company also confirmed the latest Mana series game, Visions of Mana, and past entries are also reduced as part of the event.

This is basically a 25% off discount across the board on the applicable Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster and Visions of Mana games available during the Xbox Black Friday Sale. All of the discounts are available now, and they will remain in effect until December 2, 2024. None of the titles are on sale digitally on other platforms.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are a relatively new addition to the Xbox Series X library. They only ed the roster back in September 2024. They were among Square Enix’s TGS 2024 announcements. 

There will also be other ways to play games in those collections. The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster+ is heading to Apple Arcade. Square Enix also started selling physical copies of them outside Japan again.

Square Enix’s discounts on digital Xbox games during the Microsoft Store Black Friday sale runs until December 2, 2024.

Apple and Square Enix announced that multiple Final Fantasy games will be ing Apple Arcade over the next two months, with the FFIV 3D remake that first appeared on the 3DS, FFIV: The After Years, and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster all confirmed. There’s one other RPG from the company also showing up alongside them. Trials of Mana will appear there as well.

All of these are considered “+” versions of the titles. This is a label applied to full games that may have already been available on the App Store, but with a paid version, before. It signifies that they are now Apple Arcade free versions with everything included.

Here’s the full list of when the FFIV entries, Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, and Trials of Mana game will launch on the service. The App Store product pages are already live for each one, so you can see space requirements, screenshots, and descriptions for each title.

Square Enix ed and released games on Apple Arcade basically since the subscription service started. One of the first contributions to the catalog was Various Daylife, which later went on to become a multiplatform game. This is the first time Final Fantasy and Mana games appeared on Apple Arcade, however.

The next round of Square Enix Apple Arcade additions will kick off with FFIV (3D Remake) and its sequel FFIV: The After Years on December 9, 2024. Apple Arcade is available for Macs and Apple iOS devices.

The standout announcement happened just before the start of Tokyo Game Show 2024. During the latest PlayStation State of Play, the grand finale announcement was a Ghost of Tsushima sequel known as Ghost of Yotei. The new location, set in northern Japan, and female protagonist are all thrilling.

Better yet, the open-world sequel looks to continue the stunning, colorful aesthetic of the original, but with the power of PS5 and PS5 Pro. And if that isn’t enough, the game is coming out sooner than you might expect. Ghost of Yotei releases next year sometime in 2025.

Level-5 hosted its own event in celebration of Tokyo Game Show 2024. The event included new details on previously announced games like Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, DecaPolice, and Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. But the real surprise was Holy Horror Mansion, which appears to be the next evolution of the Yokai Watch series.

The same colorful style from Yokai Watch returns alongside a slightly spookier style. That said, Holy Horror Mansion looks to still be an all-ages RPG, but the story seems to have a significant focus. We will find out more info about this RPG in Spring 2025.

Even Xbox fans had something to look forward to during TGS 2024 with one of the best announcements happening during the Xbox presentation. There were quite a few notable announcements here, including a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and both Starcraft games coming to Game . However, our favorite has to be the arrival of all six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games immediately on Xbox alongside other missing Square Enix titles.

FFXIV Dawntrail Patch 7.1 Details 5f5u5h

Still no exact release date just yet for the first major post-launch patch for FFXIV Dawntrail, but we now know 7.1 is coming sometime mid-November 2024 courtesy of the TGS 2024 Letter from the Producer 83. In addition, we now know it will be called “Crossroads” and include a bunch of new content for players to enjoy like the first Final Fantasy XI Alliance Raid, a new dungeon to complete, Pelupelu Allied Society quests, and so much more.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Release Window 245n21

One of the more surprising announcements is Hideo Kojima’s reveal during TGS 2024 that Death Stranding 2 is only about 30-40% complete. Despite this alarming fact, the game is still scheduled to come out in 2025. The sequel will also feature a brand new photo mode that will allow players to dance and pose various characters throughout the world for pictures.

You can now find all six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games on the Xbox Series X and S, as they were one of Square Enix’s shadowdrops during the Xbox Tokyo. The first Final Fantasy game, as well as FFII, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, and FFVI are all available alone or in a bundle together on the platform worldwide.

The pricing for the Xbox Series X versions of the games is essentially identical to the ones on other platforms. So the first two games, which are FFI and FFII, each cost $11.99 normally. As part of a temporary launch sale, these are now $9.59 each. FFIII, FFIV, FFV, and FFVI are typically $17.99 each. You can get them for $14.39 each on the Xbox for a limited time. Finally, the bundle is $59.99 in honor of the TGS 2024 debut, though that price will go back up to $74.99 once the sale is done.

Square Enix has revealed new wappen badges modeled after characters from the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series. The company will release the items in September 2024. It has opened pre-orders for these badges on its Japanese e-Store.

The back side of these badges has an adhesive part, so the owner will be able to simply place them like stickers or attach them via ironing. However, Square Enix recommends sewing the items if one wants to put them on clothes that require regular laundry.

The character badges will be available in two separate volumes. Volume 1 will feature characters from the first three series entries, while Volume 2 will cover Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI. Each volume will be available in an 8-in-1 pack with the same price tag of 7,480 yen (~$51.60). However, the packs' contents will be completely randomized, so there will be no guarantee that the buyer can get all eight unique badges in a single purchase.

Square Enix has been extensively promoting the Pixel Remasters of the first six Final Fantasy mainline entries. In mid-August 2024, the company launched ment videos showing the games at the JR-East Shinjuku train station. It will also restock the PS4 and Switch physical copies of the collection in October 2024.

Square Enix announced that people in Japan who visit the JR-East Shinjuku Station can see videos promoting Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on display. It also shared a trailer for the ments online, so those of us unable to head to Japan can also see the PVs. 

Here’s the official footage of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster videos at JR-East Shinjuku Station. The ments are on columns, at the ticket gate, and on screens throughout the station. In addition to showing footage from each of the titles, there are also animations of the different character sprites and imagery showing the Yoshitaka Amano art.

This comes ahead of worldwide Final Fantasy news. Square Enix confirmed Switch and PS4 physical copies of the Pixel Remaster will appear at retail stores. Previously, these were only available in Japan or as a collector’s edition at the Official Square Enix Store. They sold out when offered outside Japan before. However, this new release won’t be limited to a single retailer. It will include all six games on a cartridge or disc for $74.99.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices, and the physical Anniversary Edition retail released is planned for October 8, 2024.

Square Enix announced it will once again sell Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Switch and PS4 physical copies, this time at more retail stores as the Anniversary Edition on October 8, 2024. These were already available in Japan, and an initial limited run release showed up at the Square Enix Store and sold out in 2023.

The latest physical run of Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Switch and PS4 retail copies is identical to past base releases. It will cost $74.99. The higher price is due to the fact that it includes six games, which are the following:

• Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster
• Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster
• Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster
• Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster
• Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster
• Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster

For reference, places like Play-Asia are selling the physical copies of the game for $79.99, before shipping. 

While the past Square Enix run was a limited edition with vinyl set, acrylic stands, and art book, this one is a more typical release. However, there is one bonus. People get a sheet of 12 stickers that features heroes and mascots from the six Final Fantasy games in the collection.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices, and the physical Anniversary Edition retail released is planned for October 8, 2024.

Square Enix has revealed new acrylic dioramas inspired by all six titles featured in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series. The company has also opened pre-orders for these Cubic Memory dioramas on its Japanese e-Store.

The dioramas will contain acrylic stands of pixel-based characters and creatures, and Square Enix will line them up to reproduce cutscenes and gameplay moments from the Japanese releases of the titles. The Final Fantasy III, IV, and VI dioramas will be based on cutscenes, while the first and fifth game dioramas will feature battle scenes. The Final Fantasy II diorama will feature a unique gameplay scene where the player had to memorize a .

All six dioramas will have the same price tag and release date. Each item will be available for 3,300 yen (~$20.69), and Square Enix will release all of them simultaneously on October 19, 2024.

Square Enix has been occasionally releasing merchandise based on the first six mainline Final Fantasy entries. The company has previously released music boxes featuring a track from each entry in 2022. It is also working with Uniqlo to release T-shirts based on some of the pixel-era entries worldwide throughout Summer 2024.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Cubic Memory dioramas will be available in Japan on October 19, 2024.

While the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, FFXIV, and FFXVI shirts already showed up in Uniqlo stores in Japan, it is now confirmed they’ll launch in North America on June 26, 2024. It debuted in Japanese stores on June 16, 2024 alongside official art of Alisaie Leveilleur and G’raha Tia in the shirts.

The official English site for the crossover isn’t available, but we know from the Japanese release that seven unisex shirts will appear. The two FFXIV ones feature a final fight as well as icons like Alpha the Chocobo, a Moogle, and Fat Cat tumbling into a person’s pocket. The two FFXVI shirts show Torgal and the Eikons. All of the rest feature Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Yoshitaka Amano art. 

Here is the official announcement for the Uniqlo Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, FFXIV, and FFXVI shirts’ US release. The first image in the gallery is the FFXVI shirt with the Eikons. It has Joshua’s Phoenix pinion on the front. The second is one of the FFXIV designs. The third has art of Terra from FFVI. Finally, the fourth one shows Torgal with the words, “Escape this fate that we might one day look upon the moon again together.”

Finally, here is the official art for the promotion of Alisaie and G’raha Tia. The shirt G'raha wears sold out in Japan.

Uniqlo has sold shirts from the series before. There were general Final Fantasy  series shirts in 2022 for the 35th anniversary, for example.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, FFXIV, and FFXVI Uniqlo shirts debut outside Japan on June 26, 2024. They are already available in Japan. FFXIV is on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Final Fantasy fans who also use Apple products, prepare to take your tech to the next level with some official Final Fantasy accessories. The Japanese Square Enix store is offering AirPods Pro case covers and Apple Watch bands with motifs and characters from the series.

The North American store does not offer these products. There are watches and AirPods Pro cases you can purchase though. If you want the Final Fantasy Apple accessories from the Japanese Square Enix store, you might have to use a proxy service of some kind to get them, as the site doesn’t offer international shipping.

There are four kinds of AirPods case covers, costing 4950 JPY ($31.45) each. They’re only compatible with the first generation of AirPods Pro. They’re available with the Cloudy Wolf and One-Winged Angel designs from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, as well as in the Rhythm and Music styles from Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. There are five different looks for the Apple Watch bands, with two for Adventure Children and three for Pixel Remaster. They’re also available for 4950 JPY ($31.45). All of these accessories will come out on September 28, 2024.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children came out in 2005 but returned to theaters for a limited time in 2024 to promote Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is available on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Uniqlo and Square Enix announced the release of a new line of Final Fantasy t-shirts based on the Pixel Remasters, Final Fantasy XIV, and Final Fantasy XVI. There are 7 t-shirts in the new collection, each one costs 1,500 yen (or about $9.73,) and they are expected to release in Japan on late June 2024.

There is no information yet on whether the t-shirts will appear overseas, or when. The are 3 FF Pixel Remaster shirts, and their designs include illustrations by Yoshitaka Amano and pixel art sprites, side by side. The first design features a Goblin from the original Final Fantasy, the second one features the original Yoshitaka Amano design for the Moogles, and the last one focuses on Terra and Mog from FFVI.

Meanwhile, there are 2 FFXIV t-shirts. One features an illustration of the Warrior of Light, and the other one has the chocobo Alpha, a Fat Cat, and a Moogle poking out of a chest pocket. The last two t-shirts are inspired by FFXVI. One of them has Torgal howling at the moon with the caption "escape this fate that he might one day look upon the moon again together,” and the second one features all the Eikons in the main game.

The Square Enix cafe will hold a Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series collaboration event. More information will come out in the future.

This news came from the official Square Enix cafe website. While we do not know when the event will take place, it seems that it will be in the summer. According to the description on the website, the cafe predicts that it will be “yet another hot summer.”

Collaboration events at the Square Enix cafe usually includes a limited time menu based on characters, monsters, and such from a particular game. For example, in February 2024, the cafe had a collaboration event with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, featuring items like Zack’s Seafood Pizza and drinks based off main characters like Cloud and Sephiroth.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is a remake series of the first six Final Fantasy games. They’re available on platforms like Windows PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. Aside from updated graphics from the original, these games have new features such as being able to switch between two soundtracks. Square Enix also fixed a lot of existing bugs in these versions.

The Square Enix cafe in Japan will hold a Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series collaboration event some time in the summer.

Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster PC games now each got a patch that includes Font Type and BGM (background music) update. Both options originated in the PS4 and Switch versions of the games and are part of the Steam versions’ 1.1.0 update. 

While the patch notes for each title may have some additional variations and features, the three “major new features” are present in each one. This means that all six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster PC games on Steam now have a patch that lets you switch between the “classic” or “modern” style font types, the original or arranged BGM soundtrack, and choose if you use cheats. The cheats are billed as “assistance features” that let you adjust increase (or eliminate) the amount of things like EXP and gil earned from battles. The company didn’t share screenshots or a trailer showing the changes, however.

However, some of the minor additions also appear throughout the different titles. Some of these new options include the ability to see each game’s bestiary while in the game, rather than via returning to the main menu, and set your movement speed. You can also load a new save from the in-game menu, instead of just saving.

To go along with the changes, there is also a sale on every Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster title on Steam. It is 20% off individual titles and 38% off the bundle of all six. So the bundle is $59.84 until February 13, 2024, the first two games are $9.59 each, and FFIII through FFVI are $14.39 each.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are available on the PC, PS4, Switch, and mobile devices, and the update to patch 1.1.0 is live for all six games on Steam. The Steam sale on the titles will run until February 13, 2024.
