Good Smile Company will restock its Pop Up Parade figure of the long-haired Rei Ayanami from Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. The company has opened pre-orders for the figure's new batch on its Japanese international web store. People worldwide can place orders for the figure at ￥4,800 (~$32.40).

As with every other figure in the Pop Up Parade lineup, this figure will be static without any movable parts. This non-scale figure will have a total height of around 17 cm (~6.69 inches).

Good Smile Company originally revealed the figure in March 2022 with a release window in August 2022. The revelation back then was in close proximity to the movie's release in 2021. More companies have since revealed their own versions of the long-haired Rei Ayanami figure, such as Aniplex in April 2023 and Sega's S-Fire brand in July 2024.

The pre-order period for the new batch of the Pop Up Parade figure of the long-haired version of Rei Ayanami from Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time will close on November 6, 2024. Good Smile Company will formally restock and ship the figure in April 2025.

From the popular Chinese science fiction novel The Three-Body Problem, the Earth-side space battleship "Natural Selection" commanded by Zhang Beihai is now available as a plastic model kit.  [Thanks, HobbyWave!]

This model is approximately 230mm in length and features movable parts, including an opening hatch and rotating components. The kit uses five runner molding colors and includes some pre-painted parts, allowing assembly without the need for painting.

The model is equipped with a specially designed LED light-emitting unit. It starts emitting light when the included magnetic switch is brought close and can display multiple light patterns, representing different states like the starting sequence and cruising conditions. The kit includes a dedicated stand, a die-cast nameplate, and a water transfer decal.

The model is made from ABS plastic and does not require adhesive due to its snap-fit type assembly. It began release in May 2024, with a limited quantity of 900 pieces available in Japan. The price is ¥6,050 (approximately $44).

The finished product is assembled, and some parts have been painted. The image is under development. Detailed specifications may differ from the actual product.

This product is planned and manufactured by Orange Cat Industries and imported and sold by Wave Co., Ltd.

The Square Enix café announced on social media that the company will be selling an official shop exclusive, limited edition Sephiroth figure. While no release date was mentioned in the announcement, information regarding the figure has been detailed.

This news came from the official Square Enix café Twitter . According to the description on the post, the café boasts two different types of wings and an additional closed eyes face plate for the figure. These new pieces allow for a wider range of poses.

Three photos of the Sephiroth figure can be seen below. Each one features a different pose. The new wings are also used for them to show how they differ from past parts.

Themed collaboration events at the Square Enix café usually include a limited time menu based on the characters, monsters, and items from their expansive catalog of games and media. As of February 2024, the cafe is hosting a collaboration event with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, featuring special items like Zack Fair’s Seafood Pizza and drinks based on the cast, including Sephiroth himself.

FFVII Rebirth is available on the PS5. The exclusivity arrangement ends on May 29, 2024. The first game in the trilogy is on the PS4, PS5, and PC.

In September 2021, the mecha anime series Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z aired a special crossover episode with Neon Genesis Evangelion. Takara Tomy has now announced an Evangelion-01 Shinkalion Z 500 Type EVA figure. It's scheduled to go on sale in time for the holidays on December 18, 2021. The transforming figure will retail for ¥9,350 (about $82).

The figure transforms into a bullet train. It is inspired by a real-life Evangelion crossover train which ran from 2015 until 2018.

Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z is the second series in the Shinkalion franchise, which was originally created as a marketable collaboration between Japan Railways and toy manufacturer Takara Tomy. The series, marketed towards younger children, follows young pilots using bullet trains-turned-giant robots to defend Japan from giant monsters. The most recent Evangelion crossover episode aired on September 17, 2021 and was the third such collaboration.

Originally, the Evangelion 01-500 Type EVA figure was scheduled to release on December 4, 2021, but had to be postponed for undisclosed reasons. Each figure will come with the Evangelion 3-car transformable model, an additional car that transforms into the robot's weapons, an Evangelion mask, and a decal.

The Evangelion-01 500 Type EVA figure will be released on December 18, 2021. It will retail for ¥9,350 (about $82), but sadly, the official Takara Tomy website does not currently ship overseas.

Artorias’ partner is being immortalized by First 4 Figures. The company announced and opened pre-orders for its Dark Souls The Great Grey Wolf, Sif SD figure. The basic version includes only Sif, while the definitive edition adds Oscar, Knight of Astora for a larger scene. While the full price of the statues will be $109.99 for the standard and $219.99 for the definitive editions, an early bird offer is in effect. That takes the prices down to $99.99 and $199.99 until June 23, 2021. Both will launch in Q4 2021.

The standard version of Sif has the wolf at Artorias’ grave. The gravemarker and his sword is there, while Sif is in a howling position. It will be about 8.7 inches tall, and 10,000 of them will be made. With the definitive edition, there’s also Oscar and his Crest Shield and Straight Sword added to the scene.

Good Smile Company will release a new celebratory Hatsune Miku figure in April 2022. However, it might look familiar. It is bringing back Hatsune Miku: Love is War with a Refined version of the figure. The idea is to celebrate Good Smile Company’s 20th anniversary with a rerelease and redesign of the 2012 figure. It will cost $188.99 and come with a book.

Both the new and old versions of the Hatsune Miku: Love is War figure are based on the ryo song of the same name. Both are also 1/8th figures that will be about 11 inches tall. The Hatsune Miku: Love is War Refined Ver. figure is more monochromatic, with the only colors appearing being the shade of green for Miku’s hair, outfit, and megaphone and pink cords.

As for the included book, it is a 100-page Good Smile Company 20th Anniversary Book. It is entirely in Japanese, comes with a charm, and will go over the making of the figure and other Good Smile Company products.

The Hatsune Miku: Love is War Refined Ver. figure and book will be out in March 2022 in Japan and April 2022 in North America. The pre-orders will be open until May 21, 2021. It also recently opened its Snow Miku 2022 design poll.

Bandai, The Pokemon Company, and Nintendo are collaborating to release a series of 1/20 scale figures. Bandai Spirits Nessa and her Drednaw are the first of the Galar Region series, and fans can preorder this Pokemon Scale World figure now. This figure will cost ¥3,600 or roughly $30 and is scheduled to release sometime in November 2020. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The Bandai Spirits Nessa isn't the only Pokemon trainer Pokemon Scale World figure on the way. In another image, the silhouettes of other characters from Pokemon Sword and Shield are clearly visible. By the look of it the two player characters will be available to purchase, however their companion Pokemon have not been revealed. In addition to this other Galar region gym leaders will also be part of the series. Bea, Alistar, Raihan, and Leon are the other silhouettes shown in the image.

The Pokemon Scale World series already has more than a handful of trainers and Pokemon to collect. This includes trainers and Pokemon from Pokemon Red and Blue, and Gold and Silver.

The latest Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion is currently available to purchase and on the Nintendo Switch. This new update has added new Pokemon to capture, a new Wild Area, and the option to have your Pokemon follow you around on the Isle of Armor.

Good Smile Company has announced tentative release windows for two figures and opened preorders for them. People now have a chance to call dibs on a Dragon Quest XI Luminary or Inuyasha Nendoroid. The Luminary will be out in September 2020, with preorders open until April 8, 2020. Inuyasha preorders are also open until April 8, 2020, but he won’t ship until October 2020.

The Luminary comes with multiple accessories inspired by Dragon Quest XI. He has three different swords he can wield or carry. Two are Cobblestone Sword variants, with one sheathed and one ready to strike. He also has, spoiler alert, the Sword of Light and Erdwin’s Shield. An action affect can be attached to either unsheathed sword. He also has a slime, multiple hand parts, and both neutral and happy face plates. He will cost $62.99.

As for this Inuyasha Nendoroid, he’s less expensive and priced at $47.99. He has three face plates, compared to The Luminary’s two, so you can have him smirking, shouting, or looking confused. He comes with Tessaiga and additional hands for wielding his sword or using his claws. Also, there is an additional body so you can pose him as though he is sitting on the ground.

The Dragon Quest XI Luminary Nendoroid (with slime) will be released in September 2020. The Inuyasha Nendoroid will launch in October 2020. In other Nendoroid news, both Boruto’s Dad and the Monster Hunter Female Nargacuga Alpha Set figures are also on the way.

Back at WonFes 30, Good Smile Company revealed a Devil May Cry 5 Dante Nendoroid prototype. Now, the figure has been fully painted and put together, with people able to start preordering him on November 14, 2019. The official Kahotan Blog has pointed out all of its finer details with a series of photos, from his accessories like the Cavaliere motorcycle to his face having his signature stubble.

As usual, this figure comes with a number of extra parts. Dante has a standard smiling and a more aggressive yelling face. He has different hand parts, so he can pose, hold the sword Rebellion, or wield his Ebony and Ivory pistols. Since this Nendroid does include a vehicle, there are also standing and riding leg parts. Though, the riding leg parts could also be used for some of his more active poses.

The Devil May Cry 5 Dante Nendoroid will be available to preorder on November 14, 2019. We should see him officially released in 2020. Devil May Cry 5 is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Not one, but two Death Stranding Nendoroids are in the works. Good Smile Company revealed that it will be making smaller, (debatably) cuter versions of Sam Bridges and Cliff home. At the moment, only prototype images have been released and no release windows are available.

Each one of the Death Stranding Nendoroids vaguely captures the likeness of Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen, the two stars playing the lead characters. Sam is wearing the suit we see him in most often in the game. It doesn’t seem like he’s carrying as much equipment as the Figma version of the character, though perhaps his extra bags will be included as accessories. He does have the Bridge Baby present front and center. As for Cliff, he’s wearing his familiar tactical suit, complete with belts with extra pockets and a holstered gun.

While these two will be the first Death Stranding Nendoroids, they aren’t the first ones based on a Kojima Productions character. That honor goes to Ludens, the studio’s mascot. A Nendoroid Jumbo version of it that is 20cm tall and not articulated was released in April 2018.

The Sam and Cliff Death Stranding Nendoroids do not yet have a release window or price. Death Stranding will be coming to the PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019.

Back when Good Smile Company announced the Overwatch Nendoroid line, it made sure to note “Classic Skin” after each figure’s name. Now, we have a better idea why. It has just revealed a new D.Va Nendoroid. This time, she’s ready to head to school in the Academy Skin Edition. Class will be in session in January 2020.

This D.Va Nendoroid has an entirely new outfit, new faceplates, different accessories, and a recolored MEKA. The Academy Skin Edition gives her a recolored light gun and a MEKA with some new gold accents. She has three face plates, which have expressions that look similar to her original ones, that have a slightly different eye color. There are optional glasses. Instead of a headset, it looks more like she is wearing headphones. She also has her hair in braided pigtails, instead of leaving it long.

The D.Va Nendoroid Academy Skin Edition will be ¥4,364 (~$40) when she is released in January 2020. The standard D.Va Nendoroid made her debut back in July 2018.

Good Smile Company’s line of Kirby figures is growing. At Wonder Festival 2018 Summer, it announced a new Nendoroid and new series of Corocoroid Kirby figures. Preliminary artwork was revealed for the former, while the latter received four prototypes.

Beam Kirby will the fourth Kirby Nendoroid. This will be a yellow Kirby with the iconic jester hat and wand. Previous variations are the original Kirby, Ice Kirby, and Nendoroid More: Robobot Armor & Kirby. A Meta Knight Nendoroid is also available.

The second run of Kirby Corocoroid features four variations of Kirby. Each one offers a look based upon one of his past video game appearances. There is a Kirby’s Dreamland design, a Kirby’s Adventure version, a Kirby Super Star model, and finally one inspired by Kirby: Star Allies. These capsule toys each hold the game which inspired their look in their right hand.

Release dates were not announced for the Beam Kirby Nendoroid or second series of Kirby Corocoroid figures.

Funko has announced its first Pokémon toy. In July 2018, Pikachu Funko Pop figures will make their debut. The vinyl collectible will only be available at Target stores. A price was not announced, but the standard price for Funko Pop figures at Target tends to be $8.99.

This comes after a leak earlier this morning that involved a reddit named amiibohunter 1 posting on the Funko subreddit that they were able to purchase a Pikachu Funko Pop from a local store. The person’s post was later removed from Reddit and their deleted, but information and images remained on Resetera.

Funko did not offer an exact release date for the Pikachu Funko Pop figure, beyond July 2018.

Mattel has revealed a new Tomb Raider Barbie inspired by the March 16, 2018 movie based upon the 2013 game. This version of Lara Croft is based upon Alicia Vikander’s version of the character and will be released on March 9, 2018. She is currently available to pre-order via the official website for $29.99.

The Tomb Raider Barbie is a Barbie Signature doll with a fully-articulated body. She arrives wearing Lara’s tank top, cargo pants and boots. She also has a climbing ax, journal, map and stand. She also has a certificate of authenticity.

Tomb Raider is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Fans of Pyra will be able to find a figure of the character to display in their homes next year. Good Smile Company has announced its latest Nintendo character to get a physical manifestation. Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Pyra will receive a 1/7th scale figure rendition in December 2018.

The Pyra figure is being sculpted by Akimofu, painted by Hajime Akimoto, and planned and produced by Max Factory. She will be about 210mm/8.26in tall. She will cost ¥18,333 (~$162) when released.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
