At the Honkai: Star Rail concert, we learned that the characters that will appear as part of the Fate/Stay Night crossover will be Saber and Archer. The event will start on July 11, 2025. Both will be five-star units, and Archer will be given away as a free reward. The event also teased a new Honkai game, which could be the teased Honkai: Nexus Anima.

The Archer and Saber crossover characters will show up in Honkai: Star Rail alongside “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail,” the Fate/Stay Night event. This is confimred to actually bring the Holy Grail War to the game, with the Trailblazer and Astral Express taking part. Kinoko Nasu worked on the story, and Takashi Takeuchi drew the new character designs and art. 

As for the units, both will be focused on dealing damage to enemies, albeit in different ways. Archer, the free units we’ll all be guaranteed to get in addition to being on a banner, is going to be a Hunt character who deals Quantum-type damage. This means he’ll be focused on dealing as much pain to one enemy as possible. Meanwhile, Saber will be a Wind Destruction character. This means she’ll likely deal damage in the same way that Blade, Firefly, and Jingliu do. She will have options of hitting one foe, but there will also be opportunities for AOE hits depending on the ability used. We’ll only be able to get Saber from the banner, though she will appear as an NPC in the event story.

Yostar has revealed the Fate/stay night Servant Archer as a new guest character in Mahjong Soul. He will be the fourth character in the mahjong game's crossover event with the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel movies. The Servant will his master, Rin Tohsaka, along with the other two title heroines, Saber and Sakura Matou.

In addition, the company has opened sweepstakes on social media, where a lucky winner can get an autograph board with Archer's illustration and a signature from the character's Japanese voice actor, Junichi Suwabe. The sweepstakes for all four characters revealed to date will close on the same day on April 21, 2025.

Yostar has also published a preview trailer showing how Archer will appear in Mahjong Soul once players have gained access to him:

With four characters confirmed in this batch so far, it is going in line with most of Mahjong Soul's prior crossovers, which added four guest characters in total. The Akagi crossover event in late 2021 is the only one to date that added just two guest characters.

Mahjong Soul is available on Android, iOS, and PC. The Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel crossover event will run worldwide for a limited time, starting on April 22 or 23, 2025, depending on the time zones.

Yostar has revealed Rin Tohsaka is the third guest character from Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel coming to Mahjong Soul in a new event. Her inclusion will also complete the Fate/stay night main heroine roster in the free-to-play mahjong game after the company revealed Sakura Matou and Saber earlier.

Just like the first two characters, Yostar holds a separate sweepstake on social media where one person can win an autograph featuring an illustration of Rin signed by her Japanese voice actress, Kana Ueda. The company will close the sweepstake's application window on April 21, 2025.

Yostar has also published a preview trailer showing how the gameplay will look like when one plays as Rin Tohsaka in Mahjong Soul:

As of Rin's reveal, it is yet to be known whether there will be any more characters ing the fray. However, most of the prior crossovers for Mahjong Soul featured four characters in total, and some of them also included male characters. When Yostar held a crossover event featuring Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Licht in late 2023, it added Gil besides Illya, Chloe, and Miyu. Likewise, an earlier crossover event with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion in Spring 2023 had a mixed roster featuring Lelouch, Suzaku, Kallen, and C.C.

Mahjong Soul is readily available on iOS, Android, and PC. The Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel crossover event in the free-to-play game will launch worldwide on April 22 or 23, 2025, depending on the regional time zones.

Yostar is revealed Sakura Matou and Saber as guest characters from Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel who will appear in Mahjong Soul. Players of the game will be able to recruit them via a crossover event that launches for a limited time from April 23, 2025, then use them as playable characters in the game.

The company had previously teased the crossover event in early February 2025. However, it only recently started publishing details about the event after it confirmed April 23, 2025, as the launch date.

Yostar is also publishing new trailers featuring the guest characters on the game's official social media s. The gameplay segments notably show how the company produces accurate 3D models of the guests' hands. Here is the first trailer featuring Sakura Matou:

The second trailer shows the Fate/stay night Servant Saber in Mahjong Soul. Players can also notice how she will play Mahjong with her full armor gear:

In addition, Yostar is holding sweepstakes on Facebook and X, where people can win autograph boards of Saber and Sakura signed by their respective Japanese voice actresses, Ayako Kawasumi and Noriko Shitaya. Both sweepstakes will close on April 21, 2025, at 9 PM PT or midnight ET.

Aniplex and Type-Moon have published the official key visual for the Fate/stay night 20th Anniversary Concert Finale. It features Saber as a maestro conductor, with the fireworks in the background signifying the festive mood for the major anniversary milestone.

This key visual was made by a Type-Moon team led by Takashi Takeuchi, who also drew the picture draft. Hirokazu Koyama and Shima-Udon colored the picture, while Yuuro worked on the background.

Aniplex has also opened applications for the concert's tickets via Lawson Ticket. Prices for the tickets will range from ¥9,500 (~$63.30) for regular A-tier seats to ¥15,000 (~$99.95) for S-tier seats with a bonus book. However, the tickets will be exclusively available via lotteries.

Aniplex and Lawson Ticket will close the application period on April 6, 2025, and announce the lucky winners on April 10, 2025. The winners will then have a whole week to finalize their payments.

This concert will be the last one to mark the 20th anniversary of Fate/stay night, which originally appeared as a PC visual novel in 2004. Prior editions of the concert series have also been recorded in Blu-ray sets, which were just released on March 19, 2025.

The final commemorative concert will also feature guest appearances by Noriaki Sugiyama, Ayako Kawasumi, Kana Ueda, Noriko Shitaya, and Junichi Suwabe. As a refresher, they are the respective Japanese voice actors for the main characters Shirou, Saber, Rin, Sakura, and Archer.

Prime 1 Studio opened global pre-orders for its new 1/4 scale figure based on Saber from Fate/stay night. This figure will be part of both the Prisma Wing and Ultimate Masterline series, and the studio will ship the finished packages in mid-2026.

The figure will be available in two different versions. The Regular Version will cost $999, and the more complete and expensive Ultimate Bonus Version will be available with a higher price tag of $1,299. However, buyers will also have to consider the shipping costs, among other factors, when deciding which one to buy. Those residing in the US can choose between Economy Shipping, which takes around 1-3 months at $131, or Standard Shipping, which costs more at $392. However, picking standard shipping means it will arrive much faster in a few weeks.

The Regular Version will simply feature an armored Saber holding her Excalibur sword on the ground without any alternate parts. The Ultimate Bonus Version will add swappable parts for the head, body, and weapon. The latter will also allow the owner to remove Saber's armor plates and change the Excalibur sword to emulate its Noble Phantasm activation. However, Prime 1 Studio will only produce 500 copies of the Ultimate version.

The new figure will feature the Servant character based on her appearance in Fate/stay night, which originally appeared as a PC visual novel. Type-Moon has since remastered the title and released it for not only PC but also Nintendo Switch, with additional English and Simplified Chinese subtitle besides Japanese.

Prime 1 Studio will ship the 1/4 scale figures of the Fate/stay night Saber between June 2026 and September 2026. The remastered version of the Fate/stay Night game is now available worldwide on the Switch, PS4, and PC.

Visual novels are getting a real treat with the remasters of Ever 17 and Never 7. These beloved games from developer KID and legendary writer Kotaro Uchikoshi are both must-plays, especially in the case of the former. With these now almost here, and possibly so by the time you read this, it is time to look ahead. What visual novel deserves a remaster or remake next?

Give me 12Riven! I have wanted to play this game for so long but never have been able to. It’s time for an official English translation of it. Besides that, 11 feels like a lock in the future. It is one of my favorite visual novels of all time and it is quite spooky, too, at times. There are some surprisingly scary moments at that game and it certainly deserves more attention than it got at the time. While Ever 17 is certainly the more flawlessly written experience, I actually prefer 11 for its atmosphere and characters. The directions this one goes in are incredible and deserve a wider audience’s attention.

Finally, I’d like to give a special shoutout to Time Travelers. This Level-5 cinematic visual novel is remarkable, but it only ever released in Japan on Nintendo 3DS for some odd reason. This feels like an easy win to remaster for modern platforms with an official localization, so hopefully it happens at some point. Thankfully, there is an unofficial English translation for now. -- Cody

Yostar announced that it will hold a new crossover event that adds content from Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel to Mahjong Soul. It will specifically base the crossover on the movie trilogy that originally launched between 2017 and 2020, and has since become available on streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Hulu.

Details about the new crossover are still scarce as of the initial announcement, but Yostar usually adds key characters from other titles as guest players. The latest crossover event as of 2024 was Bandai Namco's The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors, where Yostar added all four of the Noctchill group from the title between November and December 2024.

The crossover event with Sanrio characters in September-October 2024 ended up adding unusual content when compared to other prior franchises. Sanrio's famous mascots like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll did not appear as playable characters. They instead appear in exclusive alternate skins for four of the game's original characters.

The three Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel movies arrived on Hulu, and they are also set to debut on Crunchyroll on December 19, 2024. All three entries in the Ufotable-film series are now available both in Japanese with subtitles and with the English dub on the streaming service.

The films are available individually, with separate listings for the audio track, like many of the other anime streaming on Hulu and Crunchyroll. Heaven's Feel I. presage flower, Heaven's Feel II. lost butterfly, and Heaven's Feel III. spring song are an adaptation of the Heaven's Feel route from the Fate/Stay Night visual novel. These three focus on Shirou Emiya and Sakura Matou as the two of them deal with the breakdown of the Fuyuki Holy Grail War and its effects on their relationship.

The films were originally released in theaters back in 2017, 2019, and 2020. The Crunchyroll and Hulu release marks the first time the films have been available on a streaming service. It follows the release of the remaster of the Fate/Stay Night: Realta Nua visual novel for the PC and Switch, as well as the announcement of the beginning of the anime adaptation of the Ryogo Narita light novel series Fate/Strange Fake, centering on a Grail War taking place in Nevada.

Crunchyroll currently has the license to stream the other Ufotable Fate adaptations: Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. Fate/Strange Fake will also being airing there soon.

CDs for the Fate/stay night 20th anniversary concert will appear from March 19, 2024. Those who purchase the first production version will also receive a limited-edition Blu-Ray. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The reason there are two different discs is because one of them is the Unlimited Blade Works concert and the other is the Heaven’s Feel one. Both of them cost 3850 JPY ($26.75) each if you just want the CD. However, if you purchase one of the first production ones and can get the Blu-Ray bonus, then it’ll cost 7700 JPY ($53.50). The Blu-Ray box will have a ufotable-drawn cover, a booklet, and a recording from the concert in question.

Fate/stay night came out in 2004 and was originally an adult game before Realta Nua replaced the sexual scenes with new ones, as well as voice actors from the 2006 Studio Deen anime adaptation. It follows Shirou Emiya, a young and inexperienced mage who becomes a participant in the Holy Grail War, which uses Servants—magical familiars that are heroes from mythology, history, or fiction—as their weapons.

There have been many spin-offs from the original Fate concept, including Fate/Samurai Remnant and Fate/strange fake. Fate/stay night itself is also a highly influential work, with many creators such as David Jiang of Honkai: Star Rail and Gege Akutami of Jujutsu Kaisen citing elements of it as inspiration. 

Fate/stay night is readily available on the Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

To celebrate the release of Fate/stay night Remastered, a new Fate/Grand Order Craft Essence is available for those who complete a special FGO quest. The trailer for the newly remastered game will also be available to view in the mobile game.

The new craft essence is a four-star rarity one, and it increases the Master EXP earned when clearing a quest by 50 while equipped. You can earn the commemorative essence by completing a new quest available via the Chaldea Gate, as long as you have cleared Node 1 of Section 3 in the first singularity of the game. The quest will be available until August 14, 2024.

This isn't the only reference to Fate/stay Night Remastered in FGO. Additionally, a new three-star command code appeared in the Mana Prism exchange shop. Also, using certain Fate/stay night characters as your will double the amount of Friend Points earned from battles.

Fate/stay night Remastered experienced a rocky launch, but a recently released patch has fixed several persistent start-up issues. Meanwhile, earlier in August 2024, Good Smile Company showed off an unpainted prototype Nendoroid of Vtuber Usada Pekora dressed as FGO character Mash Kyrielight at a Japanese Smile Fest event.

Fate/Grand Order is immediately available on mobile devices, while the Fate/stay night Remastered Craft Essence will be available to earn until August 14, 2024. Fate/stay night Remastered is also available on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Type-Moon and Aniplex announced the Fate/stay Night Remastered English Switch and PC release date, and it’s sooner than people might expect. We’ll see the digital copies appear on storefronts on August 8, 2024. 

To go along with the release date announcement, a Fate/stay Night Remastered trailer appeared that highlighted some of the most important characters and Servants in the game. It begins by introducing the Holy Grail War proper and briefly explaining why the Magi and their Servants are fighting. It’s then that Saber and Shirou Emiya are briefly scene, highlighting him potentially being “a champion of justice” and her assisting him. 

From there, the video focuses more on the specific characters. It starts by showing Saber and her devotion. CGs of her in quieter moments and while fighting Lancer appear. From there, we see fellow Magus Rin Tohsaka. Her Servant Archer also shows up in that segment. Rin’s introduction is followed by Sakura Matou’s. The segment for her highlights some elements that may be a bit more of a spoiler for people. Certain Servants are also teased during those moments. 

The end of the video focuses on some details going over what to expect from the Fate/stay Night Remastered Switch and PC English release. This entry is based on the Fate/stay night Realta Nua version. There is now a 16:9 resolution with HD images. Also, in addition to Japanese and English, Simplified Chinese is available for subtitles. 

Fate/stay Night Remastered will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam worldwide on August 8, 2024. It is also available on the PS2, Vita, and mobile devices in Japan.

Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders for its Nendoroid Doll featuring Altria Pendragon from Type-Moon's Fate series. People can head to the North America-exclusive U.S. store or the international Japanese website to place orders for the new doll.

Although Altria made her series debut as the Saber-class servant in Fate/Stay Night, her Nendoroid Doll outfit will be specifically based on her first ascension stage attire in the iOS and Android mobile game Fate/Grand Order. The set will also come with her signature sword Excalibur.

The full set will cost ￥9,800 / $59.99. The Japanese storefront has also opened another listing that only offers Altria's outfit set with a lower price tag of ￥5,800 (~$37.99).

Altria's Nendoroid Doll is not the only Fate-related news to come from Good Smile Company. The figure publisher has also opened a new pre-order batch for the Nendoroid Doll outfit set of pajamas modeled after Fate/Grand Order's mascot creature Fou-kun. This set originally appeared in November 2019, but it will be available again in October 2024 at ￥3,600 (~$23.50).

Good Smile Company will close pre-orders for the Nendoroid Doll of Altria Pendragon from the Fate series on May 8, 2024. It will ship the finished products in Japan in October 2024 and in North America in Q1 2025.

As good as the Fate/ series is, those of us outside of Japan always ended up a bit left out. We’d get all these spin-offs and other adaptations, but the original story eluded us. Like imagine you started with City Slickers 2 instead of the original City Slickers. (Okay, that’s not such a bad idea, since The Legend of Curly’s Gold is the superior film.) But now Type-Moon and Aniplex announced Fate/Stay Night Remastered, obviously a remaster of the original game, with an English language option. And frankly? We deserve this.

As a refresher for those wondering why we didn’t see Fate/Stay Night in English before now, well, it had adult content! Because it was a “mature” game, it didn’t show up 20 years ago when it debuted on PCs in Japan in 2004. Because the anime and manga removed that content, companies like Crunchyroll, Sentai Filmworks, and Tokyopop picked them up. 

However, we also have to that once the console versions of the game started appearing on the PlayStation 2 and Vita, it happened at a time when visual novels weren’t popular worldwide yet. Now if a visual novel tied to a popular series, such as Konosuba, we’re probably going to see it worldwide! Type-Moon’s Witch on the Holy Night only appeared in 2022 worldwide, and we’re getting the first part of the Tsukihime remake in 2024.

Do you know how many Fate/ series video games appeared in English worldwide before this Fate/Stay Night Remastered reveal? Seven. There was Fate/Extra (PSP), Fate/Extella (PS4, Vita, Switch, PC), Fate/Extella Link (PS4, Switch, PC), Fate/Grand Order (mobile), Fate/Samurai Remnant (PS4, PS5, Switch, PC), and Fate/Unlimited Codes (PSP), and Everyday Today’s Menu for Emiya Family (Switch). Think about that last one. We even got the Cooking Mama-like spin-off. 

Frankly, once Fate/Grand Order launched worldwide and was shown to be a success, we should have seen Fate/Stay Night. To have it take this long boggles my mind.

Because really, this has been building for so long. People already know and love all the main Servants who are a part of this series. The Artoria Pendragon version of Saber is so recognizable, she’s essentially become a household name in anime circles. Fate/Grand Order remains one of the more popular mobile gacha games. The level of familiarity means the demand is there for us to finally get to play the game.

Most importantly is this one critical detail: we know Fate/Stay Night is good. This is a critically acclaimed game. It’s beloved. It’d have to be to inspire so many adaptations, tie-ins, and spin-offs. The Fifth Holy Grail War is a fascinating concept, the story is interesting, and the characters have genuine depth to them. 

Fate/Stay Night Remastered will come to the Switch and PC in Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese worldwide in 2024.

Type Moon announced that Fate/stay night Remastered will be coming to the Switch and PC in 2024, and the remaster will be available in English and Simplified Chinese for the first time ever.

Fate/stay night Remastered is based on the PS Vita release of Fate/stay night Réalta Nua, which originally released in 2007 for the PS2 as a remaster of the original game aimed at for ages 15 and up. In addition to the new language options, this version of the game includes voice acting with the anime voice actors reprising their roles.

Additionally, Type Moon opened a new X (formerly Twitter) official for the title where the company will post new updates in both Japanese and English.

The original Fate/stay night visual novel released for PC in January 2004 exclusively in Japan. The popularity of the game spiked in 2006 with the release of its first anime adaptation, and the franchise continued growing with the 2007 PS2 remaster and 2012 PS Vita port. The port appeared for Android and iOS in 2015 as well. The latest title in the evergrowing series is the action RPG Fate/Samurai Remnant, released in 2023 for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Fate/stay night Remastered is in development and it will appear for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam sometime on 2024.
