The PlayStation Now March 2020 roundup has arrived, and it is a good month for subscribers that are Koei Tecmo fans. A number of entries in the companies’ established series have all ed the roster. This means all of both the Nights of Azure and Toukiden series are available as a result.

Nights of Azure, the action-RPG series from Gust that stars half-demon heroines who fight against demons and must face the prospect of the women they love possibly being sacrificed for the greater good. Both Nights of Azure and Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon are available to play.

Toukiden is a Monster Hunter-like action-RPG from Omega Force that places a strong emphasis on being able to fight alongside capable NPC allies and collect mitama souls to boost your avatars’ abilities as you fight oni. The enhanced version of the original game, Toukiden: Kiwami, and Toukiden 2 are both available.

The other Koei Tecmo PlayStation Now March 2020 additions come from established series. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round gives people access to the fighter. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII is there for strategic endeavors. People can also hop into the Warriors All-Stars Musou that brings in characters from installments in the company’s major (Dead or Alive and Dynasty Warriors) and minor (Samurai Cats and Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time) series.

The other PlayStation Now March 2020 games being added are:

• Control (available until Monday, August 31)
• Nascar Heat 3
• Shadow of the Tomb Raider
• Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

Control will only be available until August 31, 2020, while Shadow of the Tomb Raider will leave the library on September 7, 2020.

PlayStation Now is $9.99 for a month or $59.99 for one year. It lets people play games on their PlayStation 4s and PCs.

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja announced that its fighting game Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will make its first major appearance at EVO as a side tournament called Dead or Alive EVO Showdown 2018.

Here’s a message from producer Yosuke Hayashi and director Yohei Shimbori of the Dead or Alive 5 series:

“To the Dead or Alive fans and fighting game fans, thanks to you all we are proudly announcing that Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will take part in the world's largest fighting game festival EVO.
5 years have ed since the Dead or Alive 5 series started and it's been played by more than 10 million gamers. Meanwhile, the Dead or Alive community has expanded to become larger than ever before.
To proceed to the next stage, we announced the end of the Dead or Alive 5 series in December, but to my surprise the gods of fighting games have given us another chance to let players enjoy this franchise at an event once more.
Though it's a side tournament, the fact that Dead or Alive is ing EVO itself is key, and something which we have been longing for over 10 years.
So, I hope you will and enjoy the show!”

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round has made it to EVO in the past as a side event, but Koei Tecmo is calling it its first “Major Appearance” so we can expect to see a little more of it this time around.

For those who are interested, registration for the showdown will be available at a later date and more details are expected to follow in the coming weeks.

The Dead or Alive series doesn’t get as much spotlight as other prominent titles like Street Fighter V or Tekken 7, but Team Ninja might be stealing the thunder at an event this weekend.

The “Battle Royal 2017” Grand Finals event of the fighting games tourney NEC18 takes place this weekend, and Team Ninja said on Twitter that fans should be sure to stick around until the Finals are over, as there will be an announcement once the prizes are given to the champions.

Keep in mind that Team Ninja only mentioned that there will be an announcement, so there’s a chance it might not even be related to Dead or Alive, but given that NEC18 is a fighting games event with tourneys for Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

Considering that it’s a major event for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, we’ll likely be getting some sort of Dead or Alive-related announcement by the looks of it, and given its audience it’ll likely be a fighting game rather than something for the Dead or Alive Xtreme series.

It could end up being a new expansion for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, but Team Ninja announced in Tokyo Game Show 2017 back in September that the game’s DLC releases will end this year and that they’re preparing for the future. Team Ninja will provide streaming details for the event soon.

The free-to-play fighter Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters has sured 10,000,000 s worldwide and Koei Tecmo celebrated with a look at new costumes at TGS 2017.

To commemorate the 10 million s, Koei Tecmo revealed an Opoona costume for Marie Rose that will be available for free on October 18, 2017.

A collaboration with Sega’s MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 was also announced. This collaboration brings costumes and accessories from Ryu Hayabusa, Marie Rose, Kasumi, and Ayane to the MMO. We can expect to see it arrive this fall.

Each year Koei Tecmo has a Designer’s Challenge where fans submit their own designs for Halloween costumes.

During the Atelier 20th Anniversary Announcement Event, Koei Tecmo revealed that Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is getting its latest collaboration costumes on June 13 as well as a Phantasy Star Online 2 and Atelier crossover this fall.

The Gust collaboration swimsuit costumes will be available starting June 13, where you’ll get outfits such as Marie Rose’s Ilmeria Von Leinweber swimsuit from Atelier Firis and Honoka’s Liliana swimsuit from Nights of Azure 2. There will be a total of 17 costumes for the collaboration.

Also announced was a collaboration between Sega’s MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 with Atelier, namely the Dusk series with Escha & Logy and the Mysterious series with costumes and accessories from Sophie and Plachta.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Phantasy Star Online 2 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, iPhone, and Android in Japan.

Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have posted an End of Sale notice on the Dead or Alive 5: Last Round website. An array of costumes are going to be delisted from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam. More specifically, outfits inspired by Fairy Tail and Attack on Titan are on the chopping block. The Fairy Tail outfits will be removed on June 20, 2017, while the Attack on Titan ones will disappear on July 18, 2017. People who have already purchased the DLC will be able to use it.

Fighting game fans from around the world are looking forward to EVO Japan in January 2018, but we’ll get a taste of what’s to come in the tournament organizer’s pre-tourney “sài” later this month. Here’s  a trailer for the event.

The tournament’s three headlining titles of the main tournament are Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The event will have a side tournament going on as well with three additional titles in BlazBlue: Central Fiction, The King of Fighters XIV, and Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

Noticeably absent from the tournament is Street Fighter V, which will likely be EVO Japan’s main event if it's anything like the regular EVO. There are other major Street Fighter V tournaments going on this month, so the lack of top talent would certainly diminish its interest, but it’s still odd to not even see it included as one of the side titles in the open-tournament, where plenty of locals will get a chance to shine.

sài takes place on May 20 through 21, 2017, at the Akihabara UDX, where we’ll also see EVO Japan take place in January 2018.

The collaboration launches on March 14 and will bring a total of 16 costumes from BlazBlue and Guilty Gear to Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. They’ll be available for 286 yen each or for the set of all 16 for 3,175 yen on PS4 in Japan. The Xbox One version will go for 300 yen each and 3,200 yen for the set. And the PC version will only have the set of 16 for 3,334 yen.

We’ve seen all kinds of collaboration costumes with Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, but the newly announced Arc System Works collaboration brings Guilty Gear and BlazBlue costumes for the first time.

Koei Tecmo announced that the Arc System Works collaboration will bring costumes of 16 characters from BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Guilty Gear Xrd –SIGN-, and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 sometime this March.

So far we only have the above image for the collaboration, but we’ll likely see more in the near future.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters, the free-to-play version of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, has sured 8 million worldwide s, Koei Tecmo announced. Here’s a trailer in celebration.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters is free-to-play, but the catch is that it starts you out with only features the four of Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi, and Ryu Hayabusa as its “core” characters. Players basically get to try out the rest of the game and its different modes for free, and can purchase the rest of the characters as DLC.

To commemorate the milestone, Koei Tecmo is giving away Mila as a free character on PlayStation 4 for PlayStation Plus subscribers, which you can grab right now with the game in North America and Europe. Mila will be free until February 7, 2017.

Mai Shiranui is available as a DLC character for 800 yen on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Her Debut Costume set goes for 286 yen each on PS4, 300 yen each on Xbox One with the set of 5 for 1,000 yen, or the set of five including the DLC character for 1,600 yen. The King of Fighters collaboration costumes go for 286 yen each on PS4, 300 yen each on Xbox One, and the set of 6 for 1,400 yen, all plu tax. Finally, The King of Fighters collaboration DLC set, featuring everything above, goes for 2,760 yen on PS4 and 2,780 yen on Xbox One.

One of Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters most famous’ faces Dead or Alive: Last Round debut has been set. On September 13, 2016, Mai Shiranui will be released as paid DLC. A price was not announced, but last crossover character, Samurai Warriors Naotora Ii, costs $5.99.

A Creators Casual Match Movie has been released for Mai Shiranui, showing her fighting against herself. The player one Mai Shiranui is wearing her traditional attire, while the player two Mai wears an “I’m a Fighter” cheerleader costume.
