Hololive Vtuber Nanashi Mumei announced she will be graduating from Cover's company on April 28, 2025. She cited issues with her health, as well as "internal misalignment in the company" as reasons for her departure.

Known for her singing, drawing, and live performances, Mumei suffered from chronic health problems including a persistent cough that have affected her ability to stream and perform. She also was attending college while performing as a Vtuber. She stated that she intends to take part in multiple collaborations with other in the time before her graduation.

Mumei debuted back in August 2021 as part of Hololive English's Council generation. After the graduation of member Tsukumo Sana in 2022, the unit merged into a new unit called Hololive Promise alongside Vsinger IRyS. As of the time of Mumei's graduation, Hakos Baelz and Ouro Kronii are the only original of Council still remaining.

Hololive Vtubers Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard, known together as Fuwamoco, announced they will be taking a brief hiatus to deal with personal obligations. The twins didn't announce a firm date for their return, but they do have a return stream scheduled for March 30, 2025. That date could change in the future.

The announcement came via social media, but the pair also discussed it briefly during the final portion of a recent Phasmophobia stream. The trip is expected to last "a bit more than one week," during which time they will be meeting with their parents, but they also clarified that this hiatus is not a vacation. The twin Vtubers will be performing some important obligations during that time as well. Their next expected stream is scheduled on their Youtube channel, along with a stream meant to serve as an open chatroom for their fans to use while they are away.

Motoaki Tanigo, CEO of COVER Corp , the company that oversees Hololive and Holostars VTuber productions, made a statement on the possibility of AI VTubers. In a post on his LinkedIn profile, Tanigo outlined his thoughts on the matter stating that, he doesn't think AI will ever completely replace VTubers.

In the post, Tanigo, commonly referred to as Yagoo, asserts several points. The first point he hits is that the appeal of VTubers goes beyond the technology that animates them. He states that, "the true essence of VTubing is rooted in the human element, the personality, talent, and authenticity of the individual behind the avatar." In his statement, he emphasizes that the reason people are drawn to VTubers is the fact that there is someone real behind the avatar and that they can genuinely connect with and empathize with the person. He reiterated that "..it will never replace the ion, creativity, and humanity of the individuals behind the avatars... It’s about bringing people together, and that is something only humans can truly achieve."

In the post, Tanigo states that VTubing is all about the breaking of boundaries and the ability for people to connect over their personalities and dreams. He also goes on to say that AI can only really be used as a tool. Tanigo believes it should not be used to replace the core human element at the heart of the Vtubing experience. He mentions using AI for doing things like assisting with ensuring that the shows are translated for audiences world wide.

COVER has been branching out recently in bringing the Hololive stars to bigger audiences. On February 21, 2025, COVER announced that the official Hololive card game would be getting an English release. In addition, Hololive stars Ninomae Ina’nis, Koseki Bijou, Gigi Murin, and Raora Panthera will be taking part in a special Monster Hunter Wilds stream to celebrate the game's launch on February 28, 2025 at 4:30pm PT/7:30pm ET.

COVER Corporation, owner of VTuber agency Hololive, announced HoloCharge, an energy drink based on some of it's most prolific VTuber talents, is in production. To accompany this announcement, COVER shared an illustration featuring talents like Korone Inugami. HoloCharge is set to release sometime in April 2025 with more information to come via the Cyber Goods Storefront.

As mentioned previously, the energy drink will release in April 2025. There is no information as to if this product will be available outside of Japan. However, more details will release sometime in the future, possibly closer to the release of the energy drink.

In January 2025, Hololive English Advent VTubers Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard, or Fuwamoco, announced that they will have their first ever 3D concert. Viewers will not need to pay to watch or access the concert. It will be held on February 1, 2025. Those interested in watching can already set reminders for the concert via YouTube alerts.

COVER has consistently continued to produce merchandise featuring their talents. In January 2025, Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for a Shiranui Flare figure. Additionally, a plush of Harusaki Nodoka was released in the same month.

Hololive is set to launch a special event featuring its VTubers in a custom Grand Theft Auto Online server, called "Hololive GTA." Hosted by Sakura Miko and Hoshimachi Suisei, the event will run from September 17 to September 23, 2024.

In this server, known as "Holos Santos," Hololive will roleplay various occupations, including emergency services, police, gang , restaurant owners, and mechanics. Unlike other GTA Online servers, the rules and laws in the Hololive GTA server are more relaxed, allowing the VTubers to explore different in-game activities without the usual chaotic gameplay elements.

The event will be streamed daily on the Hololive YouTube channels from 7 PM to 1 AM JST, with possible extended hours. The project is ed by STGR and includes features such as unique character designs and in-game activities tailored for the VTubers.

In related news, Hololive VTuber Minato Aqua officially graduated from Hololive on August 28, 2024. Aqua's departure was marked by a special graduation live concert, concluding her six-year journey with the agency. Aqua, who debuted in 2018 as part of Hololive’s second-generation Japanese VTubers, was a beloved figure known for her gaming content and involvement in projects such as her visual novel Aquarium.

It was announced via Hololive’s official Twitter that a series of new Children’s Day themed Vtuber voice packs would be released. Beginning on May 1, 2024, special themed voice packs featuring 30 of Hololive’s VTubers appeared on sale on the company’s website.

Hololive is a group of Vtubers, a subsection of streamers who use a virtual avatar to represent themselves. First formed in 2017, Hololive has since added many popular streamers to its roster worldwide, including Gawr Gura, a talent participating in this event. 

Each of the 30 VTubers will play the role of either teacher or preschooler, with some talents recording in multiple languages. The Hololive Mischievous Preschool Voice Pack comes in four separate packs, which are Japanese Set A, Japanese Set B, Indonesian Set, and the English Set. All sets come included with a key visual PC wallpaper.

Laplus (La+) Darkness will go on a streaming hiatus due to health reasons. It might take her about two weeks to recover, though she will post more details on her social media in regards to when she’ll return.

According to the Tweet, she went to the hospital where the doctors diagnosed her with vocal cord nodules. These are benign white masses that form in the vocal folds, which can cause throat pain, vocal hoarseness, and vocal fatigue. They can also restrict airflow levels while talking. Because of this, she cannot stream or sing, thus will take a break in order to recover. The doctors told her that it would take about two weeks for the nodules to go away. However, that’s just an estimate, which is why her return window is unknown.

Over the past few years, Laplus has taken several breaks from streaming in order to focus on her health. In May 2023, she contracted COVID-19, for example. However, issues with her throat have started cropping up from around late 2023. In November 2023, she stated that she might take a small break from streaming since she’d been singing and yelling so much.

Laplus Darkness will take a break from streaming for an unknown period of time.

Cover Corporation, the company that owns VTuber agency Hololive, has announced that it donated 5 million JPY to Japan’s Red Cross Society in order to help victims affected by the 2024 earthquake that occurred near Noto Peninsula. This would equate to around $34,580.

In a statement on Cover’s website, the company states that it hopes this donation will aid “in the restoration and reconstruction of the affected areas.” It also hopes that the money will help with disaster relief. Finally, it expresses sympathy for the victims and prays that the area will recover soon. Japanese fans have replied to Cover's Tweet announcing this, thanking the company for its .

The 2024 Sea of Japan Earthquake struck on January 1, 2024 close to the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture. While Ishikawa Prefecture suffered the most damage, the earthquake was so massive that it caused severe damage in other Prefectures as well. It was the deadliest earthquake in Japan since the ones that occurred in Kumamoto in 2016. Other Japanese companies that have donated money include The Pokemon Company. Square Enix has also responded, halting the auto-housing demolition timer for the time being.

Cover has donated 5 million JPY to aid with disaster relief in areas affected by the 2024 Sea of Japan Earthquake.

The official Sonic the Hedgehog social media posted a comic created by Hololive Vtuber Inugami Korone. Korone was announced as an official Sonic ambassador back in 2022 and has since been involved with several collaborations with Sega.

The comic appears as part of the "Fast Friends Forever" segment, which presents comics drawn by notable Sonic fans followed by short segments where they talk about their relation to the franchise. The segment has previously featured voice actress Yuuki Aoi (Shuten Douji in Fate, Madoka Kaname in Puella Magi Madoka Magica), and VOFAN (Illustrator for the Monogatari light novels).

In her question segment following the comic, Inugami Korone stated that her first experience with Sonic the Hedgehog was in 2021, when she played the original game on Mega Drive/Genesis. She also noted that her favorite character is Knuckles, citing his cool name and gloves as reasons.

Hakos Baelz and Inugami Korone have released a new song, which is titled “Bite! Come! Bite!” There is also a music video for it available via YouTube.

The single is available to listen to on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music. As for the music video, Hako Baelz has ed it onto her channel. As of the time of writing, she ed it about 21 hours ago and it has accumulated around 133,065 views, with 24,000 Likes.

Hakos Baelz is a member of Hololive Council, which was the second generation of Hololive English. She debuted in 2021 alongside VTubers such as Ouro Kronii and Nanashi Mumei. As for Inugami Korone, she debuted in 2019 as part of Hololive Gamers. Others who debuted with her during this time include Nekomata Okayu and Shirakami Fubuki. As of the time of writing, Korone has accumulated over 2.05 million subscribers.

Cover has listed its guidelines for derivative games revolving around its talents, as well as set up the brand “Holo Indie.” The announced guidelines are aiming to creators in the long run.

Under Holo Indie, independent or solo developers who create their own games based on Hololive’s existing IPs will be able to earn money from them. They will also appear on Steam. This will create a positive loop in which indie Hololive games generate discussion and interest in Hololive, and indie developers feel encouraged to make games because there is a monetary reward.

Holo Parade will be the very first game from Holo Indie, which will serve as an example for future developers. “Roboqlo” developed this project. It’s a simple tower defense game in which you can gather and raise sixty-five characters from the various Hololive branches. It’ll come out on December 1, 2023, via Steam.

If you want to make games under Holo Indie, there are and guidelines to follow. You can read the complete list via Hololive’s general of usage. The main request for games specifically is to not infringe on a third party’s copyrights. For example, if you want to include music in the game, you have to compose it yourself or find non-copyright tracks.

You must also your game via this Google Document to be a part of Holo Indie, especially if you plan on releasing your project for profit.

Holo Parade, the first Holo Indie game, will come out on December 1, 2023, for the Windows PC via Steam. Some other existing fan games based on Hololive include Idol Showdown and Holocure.

Laplus Darkness of Hololive has announced that she might take a small break from streaming. This is to make sure that she doesn’t hurt her throat from all the yelling and screaming she’d been doing lately.

On her Twitter, she made the following Tweet:

“I’m going to a YouTube short at 7:00 PM today and a video at 8:00 PM! Lately, I’ve been singing and yelling for a long time so if my throat starts to feel off, I’m gonna take a short break from streaming. But I’ll do my best (quietly) if I need to practice ՞߹ - ߹՞”

The majority of the replies to her Tweet are ive, telling her to rest up for as long as she needs to. Laplus Darkness has taken several breaks in the past. In December 2022, she took a break for her own mental health, and in May 2023, she went on hiatus because she got sick with COVID-19. In comparison, since Cover Corp never announced Laplus’s hiatus, this break will likely be a relatively short one.

According to Sakamata Chloe’s tweet, she has not been DM-ing fans, nor has anyone hacked into her . She explains that she has two-step verification and she has not received any e-mails about someone trying to to her . As well, her manager has not reported getting any e-mails about Sakamata’s DMs. 

Sakamata and her manager have set up their s so that all of Sakamata’s DM exchanges will also appear in her manager’s inbox. This is likely to make sure that Sakamata isn’t sending anything improper or revealing information protected under an NDA, as well as for Sakamata’s own security. If anyone is receiving or has received DMs from Sakamata Chloe, it’s the work of an impostor on another .

As the Sonic the Hedgehog ambassador, Sega announced Hololive VTuber Korone Inugami will participate in the Sonic Square collaboration event at the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park in Japan. That will be held from September 27, 2023 to October 15, 2023. Her voice will be able to be heard alongside Sonic and his friends over the park announcements. Additionally, she will appear at a talk show event in real-time. You can learn more about what’s in store for Sonic Square on the official website.

First, an AR photo spot will be available beginning on October 2, 2023. At the park plaza, if you scan the QR code with a smartphone, it will be possible to take a commemorative photo with Korone.

In addition, you'll hear her quite a bit. Korone will handle the in-park announcements, working together with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Her voice can also be heard at random while ing through the Sonic ring reproduction photo spot in the plaza. Most of the time, you’ll hear the ring sound effect, but there is a chance you’ll be able to hear the Hololive Vtuber's voice.

Finally, the talk show event will be held at the Event Stage in Central Park. It will be on October 9, 2023 at 2pm JST. Six attendees will win some collaboration art autographed by Korone herself.
