Yostar booth in Comic Market Comiket 104 will include Azur Lane and Blue Archive

Yostar has announced that it will set up display booths featuring its mobile games at Comic Market 104. Azur Lane and Blue Archive will specifically be highlighted at the company's Comiket 104 booth.

The booth's staff will give away shopper bags that also feature characters from Arknights, Mahjong Soul, and Aether Gazer. However, the above two titles will take most of the spotlight. The bags will contain Azur Lane and Blue Archive stickers, along with an uchiwa fan of Azur Lane's Mogador. The Azur Lane area will primarily feature Pamiat' Merkuria. Visitors will be able to interact with the character. The booth will also have a massaging mini-game where players can win bonus items depending on their scores upon completion.

Meanwhile, the Blue Archive zone will host a Momo Friends Race. Visitors can participate by guessing the race winner to receive a bonus item. If a character wins the race, those who guessed the character can win another item.

Comic Market 104 will take place at Tokyo Big Sight on August 11-12, 2024. Yostar will have its booths at Corporate Booth No.1111 in West Hall 3.

Comiket 99 December 2021

The official Comiket Twitter has revealed that he Comiket 99 event will be held in late December at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center. Originally, Comiket 99 was set to appear in May 2021. Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, however, the event was postponed and had the tentative schedule of Winter 2021. Comiket 99 will now be held from December 30 to December 31, 2021. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

An official statement detailed the reasoning for the delay and the plans regarding the new dates. Additionally, COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines will be put in place and followed regarding the amount of visitors that can attend the event. While the limitation of attendees was one of the primary reasons Comiket 99 was postponed, the event runners will comply with mandates in order for the event to run in December 2021.

The statement mentions that the event holders plan on accepting as many attendees as possible as long as they do not violate the regulations that are currently in place. The statement also mentions that the progression of the COVID-19 vaccine's availability contributed to the decision to move forward with the event. However, the statement does say that the postponement of Comiket 99 could happen again if the situation surrounding COVID-19 worsens.

Comiket 99 Postponed

The official Comiket Twitter announced that Comiket 99 will be postponed. This is due to situation surrounding COVID-19, which have resulted in an extended state of emergency in Japan. However, there are still plans to hold Comiket 99 within the year. The event is now tentatively planned for Winter 2021. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The official statement goes into detail regarding the reason Comiket 99 has been postponed. The statement explains the current situation and why they have not outright canceled the event. It details that due to the high traffic at Comiket events, it would be the right decision to push the event back. This is due to restrictions placed on how many people can attend an event during the state of emergency. The event usually has roughly 200,000 guests attending daily, and a 10,000 guest limit would not be able to accommodate attendees.

Additionally, the official statement also asks attendees and vendors to refrain from making inquiries regarding other events to avoid confusion. At this time it is unclear how large the event will be in Winter 2021. More information will be released in the future through the official Comiket website and through the official Twitter.

Comiket 98 faced similar troubles in 2020. This was also caused by situations surrounding COVID-19, which led to the physical event being canceled. Instead, participants were able to view venues digitally.

Comic Vket

You may be used to getting comics digitally by now, but how about virtually? Enter Comic Vket 1, a virtual reality-based market event set to take place in August 2020. HIKKY Co., an company specializing in Virtual and Augmented Reality gatherings, is organizing and will hold the event in a "Virtual Akihabara" location.

Comic Vket 1 aims to be the first event of its type, providing fans a way to get together and buy doujinshi fanzines without leaving the comfort of home. While fans have been able to buy doujinshi online for years now, Comic Vket 1 aims to replicate some of the experience of attending an in-person doujinshi event. To that end, booths and exhibits from 382 participating circles and over 60 exhibiting partners will be arranged in a virtual recreation of Akihabara. Attendees can then the fun and navigate the space in real time, exploring booths, chatting, and even making purchases - either electronic versions of a vendor's work or even ordering physical editions for delivery.

And while virtual reality is the main selling point for the event, it's not actually required. The event will be accessible via the programs VRChat, Cluster, and Styly, all of which do not require the use of a VR headset. Even mobile and browser-based s can in, if they want to, though the experience will probably be ideal for those with the hardware to take advantage.

Check out some footage from Comic Vket 0, a test event held in April 2020. Over 25,000 people attended.

The "Vket" in the Comic Vket name is a reference to "Comiket", the largest fan convention in the world and until 2020 a twice-yearly pilgrimage for many fans of indie fanzines, comics, music, video, and cosplay. The real-life Comiket 98 failed to launch in May 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and on July 12, 2020  the planned Comiket 99 was moved from December 2020 to May 2021.

Comic Vket 1 will be held from August 13, 2020 through August 16, 2020. A neighboring event focused on music, called Music Vket, will release its own details at a later time. Check out the official site here.

Even mobile and browser-based s can in, if they want to, though the experience will probably be ideal for those with the hardware to take advantage. Check out some footage from Comic Vket 0, a test event held in April 2020. Over 25,000 people attended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=66&v=ZghcSbBxvHg&feature=emb_logo The "Vket" in the Comic Vket name is a reference to "Comiket", the largest fan convention in the world and until 2020 a twice-yearly pilgrimage for many fans of indie fanzines, comics, music, video, and cosplay. People excited about the next Comic Market might not have to worry about the event. An update has been provided on its official Facebook page noting that, for the moment, things are going as planned even amid concerns about COVID-19. Some doujin circles have already gotten acceptance letters and it seems like Comiket 98 could still be held in May 2020. However, the organizers also cautioned people that it is paying attention to government advisories and may need to cancel or delay the event due to the coronavirus.

Here is the official Comiket 98 COVID-19 statement.

Prospect on Comic Market 98 (as of March 15, 2020)

We have sent out notifications to participating circles (amateur publishing groups) about their acceptance to Comic Market 98. Currently we are preparing to have Comic Market 98 (May 2-5, 2020) as planned.

However, due to the concerns regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, and the government requests for refraining from holding large-scale events issued on February 26 and March 10, and other similar requests or orders that may be issued, there is a possibility that Comic Market 98 may be canceled, postponed or held in a irregular manner.

Comic Market defines itself as a "space" that functions to expand the possibilities of self expression, where the aim is to accept creators of doujinshi and all other types of creative endeavors and maintain continuity. We will continue with our best efforts towards holding Comic Market 98. Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated.

The situation surrounding COVID-19 is unstable and fluid. Any developments will be addressed here. Please check back here for any updates.

Comiket is a large doujin event, with people showing off magazines and games, and it will be held May 2-5, 2020 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan. About 200,000 attendees are expected to show up each day, according to the official site.
