The new G-Shock x Gundam collaboration watch will only be available for purchase for of the Gundam Fanclub via lottery system. The watch costs 22,000 yen (or approximately $139.60) and will release on March 2025.

The lottery period will end on January 15, 2025, and the results will be announced on January 17. The payment period will be open for winners of the lottery from the moment of its announcement and until the end of the month.

The new G-Shock collaboration watch is a limited edition based on the Principality of Zeon from the original Gundam anime series. Featuring a green finish, the watch also includes motifs from Zeon as well as the name of the name of the nation, with the word “Protection” inscribed above it. Additionally, the emblem of the Principality of Zeon can be seen when the screen is lit, and a smaller version of it is also displayed underneath the screen.

Casio has previously released other G-Shock watch collaborations like a recent Hello Kitty watch and an Earthbound watch among others.

Casio announced its four new Pac-Man watches inspired by the game and arcade cabinet will all release in Japan on December 13, 2024. They range in price from ￥7,700 (~$51) to ￥17,050 (~114), depending on the model. One of the variants is a calculator watch.

The two design options are Pop Neon Color Design and Game Screen Design. There are four possible watches total, with two variants in each. The Pop Neon Color Design is available for the A168WEPC and F-91WPC models. The Game Screen Design inspired by the game and cabinet can be found in the ABL-100WEPC and CA-53WPC styles. Each of the models are unisex styles and waterproof. All except the ABL-100WEPC feature the Casio long-life battery. The A168WEPC and F-91WPC features a light. The CA-53WPC is the calculator watch with the ability to show time in two cities at once. The ABL-100WEPC model can connect to a smartphone, keep track of daily steps, and has a backlight.

Casio’s shared a number of collaboration watches in 2024. One of the first ones to show up this year was an Earthbound G-Shock. In honor of the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary, we also saw another G-Shock with her signature bow. Prior to that, there was even an A100WEPC Casio Vintage Pac-Man watch, though that has since sold out.

Sanrio is working with Casio to release a new Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary G-Shock watch that features motifs from the popular character. The watch costs 18,700 yen (or approximately $122.40), and it will go on sale on October 30, 2024 in Japan at the Casio official online store. It is unknown if it could eventually appear in other regions.

The new Casio G-Shock features the Hello Kitty name above the screen, and the character’s bow appears on the screen when the backlight is on. The Hello Kitty 50th anniversary logo is also depicted on the back of the watch, and the same logo is used in the box for the collaboration watch. The watch not only celebrates Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, but the 50th anniversary of the first Casio watch being released.

With the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty being held throughout 2024 a variety of commemorative merchandise goods have been released, including a limited anniversary coin, a Hello Kitty Build-a-Bear plush, and a variety of CASETiFY phone cases and tech accessories inspired by the Sanrio character.

A new Casio G-Shock watch themed after the original Super Mario Bros. game is set to release in Japan. The Super Mario Bros. G-Shock DW-5600SMB will cost about 17,600 Yen (about $120 USD) and is part of a limited series that debuts in November 2022. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The Super Mario Bros G-Shock watch specifically evokes the original game from the NES and Famicom era. Its strap is decorated with Mario's in-game sprite. The face also features with the Super Mario Bros. game title in Famicom-original screen font, and a Koopa Trooper shell in the centerpiece. The housing and buckle are also done in bright red, to further evoke the bright colors of the era. The backlit watch display also displays Mario's sprite and a 1 Up when lit. The sprite is also engraved on the backplate of the watch. The watch also comes in a special package that evokes the now iconic stage 1-1 from the game on both the box and the metal canister.

Casio's choice of model Super Mario Bros. G-Shock harkens back to the early 1980s. In that era both the game Casio's first line of G-Shock watches, the DW-5000 series were introduced. They've also kept the square design for more than 30 years.

Casio has a history of producing crossover G-Shock watches. Earlier in 2022 Hobonichi revealed a G-Shock watch (a model GW-M5610U) themed after the Mother series. Pricier crossover watches also evoke characters from Fate/Grand Order and other franchises, like Seiko's Jeanne d'Arc Alter wristwatch.

The Super Mario Bros. G-Shock watch goes on sale on November 11, 2022. The original Super Mario Bros. game is accessible on the NES, Super Famicom, and via the Nintendo Switch Online service.
