Aiming has announced that it will end its services for Caravan Stories: Magic Academy on June 14, 2024, at noon JST. The company has also immediately ceased all microtransactions for the mobile game's gem currency. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The mobile game, which is also known by its Japanese title KyaraSuto: Mahou Gakuen, is a spin-off of Aiming's online fantasy RPG Caravan Stories. The mobile game's story takes place eight years before the original title. Aiming launched Magic Academy on April 25, 2022, so the title had still yet to reach its second anniversary when the company announced its end of service.

Companies usually provide a reason for pulling the plug on live service games. Aiming also did so when it announced the Nintendo Switch version of Caravan Stories with the common reason of "difficulty in providing services that could satisfy players."

However, Aiming did not provide any reasons when it announced Magic Academy's closure, so it puts the lifespan of the entire series—which had featured collaborations with Hololive and Oshi no Ko—into question.

The Japanese development team published a letter earlier on April 2, 2024, revealing that it had also announced the end of service for the Traditional Chinese version of the original Caravan Stories online RPG. However, the team also assured players in the Japanese version that the game will stay active through the Golden Week holidays.

Caravan Stories: Magic Academy is available on iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan until June 14, 2024.

Aiming has announced that it will shut down the Nintendo Switch version of Caravan Stories on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11 AM JST. The company has also immediately stopped sales of gold and gems on the platform. However, it will continue to hold seasonal events until the end-of-service date.

Aiming first revealed the Switch version of Caravan Stories in late November 2020. The company eventually released that version on March 18, 2021, although it is only available in the Japanese language. That means the Switch version has run for slightly over three years by the time Aiming made this end-of-service announcement.

Caravan Stories first appeared on PC, iOS, and Android mobile devices in Japan in late November 2017. Aiming later worked with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring the online game to PlayStation 4 internationally to East and Southeast Asia in April 2019, and North America in September 2019.

Aiming only s save data linkage between the PC and mobile versions. Players on the Switch version cannot transfer their data to other platforms, so it will be completely lost after the shutdown. In addition, the company will not refunds for unused gold and gems purchased in the Switch version.

Caravan Stories is still available on PC, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 4 for the foreseeable future. The online game will no longer be available on Nintendo Switch after June 13, 2024.

There will be an Oshi no Ko crossover event in Caravan Stories that brings four characters from the series into the game. Starting on May 30, 2023, the event will begin. The four people appearing from the show are Aqua and Ruby Hoshino, Kana Arima, and Pieyon. There will also be character outfits based on their attire and an event story. There's an official event website with wallpapers too.

Of the three, only Pieyon can be earned for free. People who go through the Oshi no Ko event storyline in Caravan Stories will get the one-star character in the game. Aqua, Ruby, and Kana are all five-star units. There’s a six-star outfit for all three as well.

The Oshi no Ko anime is streaming on HIDIVE, while the manga is being localized by Yen Press. Caravan Stories is available on the PS4, PC, and mobile devices worldwide and Switch in Japan. People can see the Oshi no Ko characters in the game Caravan Stories between May 30, 2023 and June 20, 2023.

Cover announced an collaboration between Hololive member Yukihana Lamy and fantasy JRPG Caravan Stories. It will start from November 29, 2022. For those who don’t play Caravan Stories, but enjoy Lamy’s content, she will host a special stream on her YouTube channel for this. There will be two versions of Lamy in Caravan Stories. One will be wearing her usual outfit, and the other one will be in an idol uniform. Marine previously appeared in Caravan Stories as a playable unit.

A screenshot contest will also be available from November 29, 2022 until December 13, 2022. In order to participate, you will need to Tweet a screenshot of Caravan Stories along with one of three hashtags:

The first one is “a screenshot to communicate my love for Lamy.” The second one is “a screenshot that looks like I’m on a date with Lamy.” And the final one is “Christmas screenshot to show the charm of Caravan Stories.” You will also need to include the hashtag 雪花ラミィのキャラスト活. Lamy will go through the submissions and comment on them during her live-stream. Three winners will also get the chance to receive a card with Lamy’s signature on it.

The Yukihana Lamy Hololive collaboration event will start on November 29, 2022 and end on December 13, 2022 in Caravan Stories. Caravan Stories is an MMORPG that is free-to-play on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Aiming announced a Caravan Stories and Hololive collaboration will begin on November 30, 2021. For a limited time, Caravan Stories players can recruit Hololive member Houshou Marine to their roster of characters. Players will have until December 28, 2021 to complete special event quests and obtain Houshou Marine's equipment. Additionally, the Hololive Houshou Marine and Caravan Stories collaboration gacha will be available until December 31, 2021. [Thanks, Gamer!]

A total of three versions of Houshou Marine will be available to obtain. This includes her default pirate costume, swimsuit outfit, and idol costume. The pirate version will be at a 5 star rarity, whereas the idol version will be a 6 star rarity. Aiming also released a special promotional video to celebrate the collaboration campaign. The video features a look at all three versions of Houshou Marine that players will be able to obtain. This includes a look at the full 3D model of Houshou Marine that will appear in Caravan Stories and her unique animations.

Caravan Stories, the free-to-play online RPG that's been operating on PC, mobile, and PS4 for the last few years, is set to make its debut on Nintendo Switch. The decision was announced by developer Aiming on the game's third anniversary livestream, which aired on November 29, 2020 via YouTube. Beyond that, though, no other details such as a planned release window were given.

Caravan Stories launched on Android and iOS in Japan in 2017 and received a PC port in 2018. Though the game ed English-language play for players who opted to go through the Japanese app stores, it didn't have an official English edition until it launched for PS4 in September 2019. Caravan Stories takes place in the fantasy world of Iyarr, home to six races and unending adventure. Players can choose any of the six playable character races and reincarnate their characters as another race, exploring that race's stories in turn. Players can tame monsters on the field to supplement their party, recruit new characters, and upgrade their titular Caravan. The Caravan is a mobile base and quest hub of sorts that travels with the player and can be upgraded extensively.

The game also has extensive auto-play options owing to its mobile roots, as well as cooperative PvE and competitive PvP elements. It's unknown if the Switch edition will be able to carry over progress from s on the PS4 edition of the game, but as of the PS4 English launch at least, players were not allowed to import progress from the PC and mobile versions.

Caravan Stories is immediately available on PS4 globally, and on PS4, PC, iOS, and Android in Japan. The Switch version has not had a launch region or window announced as of yet.
