Activision and Blizzard announced that the Kentaro Miura manga and anime Berserk will come to Diablo IV in a new crossover. A teaser trailer showed up on the social media that showed a character with Guts’ equipment. However, there’s no launch date or details yet about what this event will entail.

Here’s the reveal video. Things begin with an Eclipse starting, a reference to a major event in Berserk. As it does, we see a character facing hordes of enemies. However, he’s wearing Guts’ trademark Berserker armor and wielding the Dragon Slayer sword to defeat them. It only confirms references to Guts, however. So it is unknown if we will also see nods to folks like Griffith, Casca, and Puck.

https://twitter.com/Diablo/status/1912914071638233531

While this Berserk event will be the first anime and manga crossover for Diablo IV, we’ve seen series come to other Blizzard games. Overwatch hosted a number of them. One involved My Hero Academia. One Punch Man showed up in that game too. A more recent one brought Cowboy Bebop cosmetics to the game.

Diablo IV is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Berserk crossover event is on the way. The Berserk anime is found on Crunchyroll, and Dark Horse handled the manga.

pharah overwatch recast

Following comments from Jen Cohn, the voice actress for Pharah from Overwatch, about freeing Palestine from Hamas, Overwatch fans have been calling for Blizzard to recast her. She made these comments in a livestream. [Thanks, PC Gamer!]

A Change.org petition started on February 14, 2024 in response to Cohn’s remarks. As a note, Cohn’s livestream where she made the comments about the conflict in Palestine occurred on February 10, 2024. As of the time of writing, the petition has garnered 4359 signatures, with a goal of 5000. The comment in question was, “Yes, free Palestine from Hamas” after someone in her chat commented “Free Palestine.” She followed this up with comments about how she hopes Palestinians be healthy and happy, and that they live with autonomy and in safety. However, viewers were angry when she called the conflict a “war” and that it would be wonderful “when both sides are able to stop fighting.”

Online, s have been calling for Blizzard to recast Pharah. Their reasoning is that Cohn is a Zionist and is spreading Zionist propaganda using the platform she got from her role in Overwatch. Some have even pointed out that Pharah is a mixed Egyptian character, which makes Cohn’s role as her even more inappropriate.

Though the Gaza-Israel conflict has been ongoing since the late 1940s, the recent Israel-Hamas war started in October 2023 after militant Palestinian groups attacked southern Israel. Many groups and activists have called for a ceasefire, citing that Israel is committing a genocide of the Palestinian people. As of February 19, 2024, Israel has killed over 29,000 Palestinians since October 7, 2023. About two-thirds of this number are women and children.

Overwatch 2 is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. Blizzard has not made any statements about Cohn, or whether it plans to recast her as Pharah in Overwatch, yet.

While Diablo IV players started Tuesday eager to begin the Season of Blood, they instead found themselves facing an enemy very different than demons: Error Code 300010. This pesky error seems to have a preference for console players. In order to get you back to demon hunting as quickly as possible, let's go over how to deal with the Diablo IV code 300010.

While the actual cause of error code 300010 isn't completely clear, it seems to happen when the game interprets your Diablo IV license as invalid. Tuesday's widespread issue could be from the new update no longer matching the game version console players are running. Since it seems like an issue on the server side, Blizzard is likely looking to address and prevent this issue in the future.

There are a few things you can try to fix the issue if you're getting slowed down by code 300010. First and foremost you should make sure your internet connection is stable and that the servers themselves aren't having issues. Once you've ruled all that out, here are some things you can try:

  1. First things first, check for updates and make sure you're running the most recent version of the game (1.2.0 as of this writing). This is likely most players issue as their game version is out of sync with the server.
  2. If that fails- reboot your console. Then, relaunch Diablo IV and see if you still get the error.
  3. If that still doesn't fix the issue, uninstall the game and reinstall it.
  4. If all else fails, you may need to reach out to Diablo IV at Blizzard.

Thankfully, Blizzard is aware of the issue and seems to be working with the community, even delaying the new season to accommodate players unable to . Hopefully, you were able to fix code 300010 in Diablo IV using this guide, but if you didn't maybe Blizzard will put that monster in the grave permanently soon.

Diablo IV Season 2: Season of Blood Starts in October

At gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live, Blizzard announced the start date for Diablo IV season 2 and shared a trailer. On October 17, 2023, the Season of Blood will begin. This season will focus on a vampire-theme.

The Diablo IV season 2 announcement began by noting that people who wouldn’t be noticed gradually started disappearing in Diablo IV’s world. It’s only when people realized that things were too late. People will face five new endgame bosses as they go through a new questline involving vampires. They’ll gain new vampiric powers as a daywalker who uses the monsters’ own abilities against them. They’ll also get to venture alongside a new NPC, as Gemma Chan will show up as Eris the vampire hunter during the season. This is Chan’s first appearance in a game.

Here's the official trailer for the new season.

Diablo IV is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the season 2 start date is October 17, 2023. The current season is the Season of the Malignant. People can go through its story and experience its enemies and rewards until October 16, 2023.

Halsey and BTS’ Suga’s Diablo IV “Lilith” Song Released Music Video

People can now see the Halsey and Suga Diablo IV "Lilith" music video. The official video for the song released on the official launch day for the game. (Early access started last week.) It’s also available to listen to via services like Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, and Spotify.

Here's the full "Lilith (Diablo IV Anthem)" music video from Halsey and Suga. There's no gameplay footage used. Instead, it focuses on the two performers as the song plays. It does seem to depict Halsey as a sort of character from the game facing various challenges.

Halsey actually performed “Lilith” from Diablo IV at The Game Awards 2022. That performance only included them, however. Suga wasn’t present for that version of the song. In case you missed that, here’s how that looked:

BTS music ended up tied to games before. People may have heard its tracks tied to games like Fortnite, Beat Saber, and various rhythm games. It also ended up with a Maple Story collaboration.

Diablo IV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The game entered early access last week, so a number of people have already been playing the game all weekend.

It does seem to depict Halsey as a sort of character from the game facing various challenges. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PdH-zavwO4&ab_channel=HalseyVEVO Halsey actually performed “Lilith” from Diablo IV at The Game Awards 2022. Diablo IV Hit By 315306 ‘Unable to Find a Valid License’ Error

Once Diablo IV early access launched, people might have noticed issue with various console networks. It also meant an array of error codes appeared. Most notably, people with valid early access saw a “Warning! Unable to find a valid license for Diablo IV (code 315306)” message. Blizzard is aware of the issue, in the event it appears again, but it was referencing an issue with server status, rather than the player’s authorization.

Blizzard specifically noted PS4 and PS5 Diablo IV players were getting the 315306 “unable to find a valid license” issue after early access began on June 1, 2023. At the same time, we noticed the PlayStation Network itself experienced some issues.

Given this had to do with demand and server availability, the “Warning! Unable to find a valid license for Diablo IV (code 315306)” message could return on June 6, 2023. That's when the full game launches worldwide and early access ends.

Meanwhile, Blizzard also released a hotfix on the servers on June 2, 2023. It addressed issues with the Rogue’s Inner Sight, Sorcerer’s Flame Shield Enchantment, and items that showed “Shout Skill Cooldown Reduction.”

Diablo IV is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via early access, with the full launch on June 6, 2023.

Change FPS Diablo IV

Like most modern games, Diablo IV will allow you change the framerate (FPS) the game runs at through it's settings menu. This includes both foreground and background FPS. So if you are noticing that when you tab out of the game, it runs at a significantly lower framerate, this guide will break down how to change both FPS settings in Diablo IV.

Access your options menu and go to the "Graphics" section. Under the "Performance" tab, you will find both the "Max Foreground" and "Max Background" FPS options. Here you can manually adjust what FPS the game is running out when you are tabbed in or tabbed out of the game. This is especially good for streamers to mess with if they will be playing the game in Windowed Mode.

Additionally, if Diablo IV is taxing your PC (especially while fighting World Bosses), you can manually assign a framerate ideal for your rig through this option. However, you cannot input a number and instead will need to play around with the sliders to set your preferred frame rate.

Change FPS Diablo IV

If you want audio to play in the background while you are tabbed out of the game head to the "Sounds" tab and under "Game Sound Output" check the "Play in Background" option. This will allow for audio from the game to play even if it is isn't the main window you currently have open.

Diablo IV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.

Diablo IV Extract Aspect

Extracting Aspects is an extremely valuable feature in Diablo IV. This allows for players to effectively obtain ive effects from Legendary items, to then reapply them to an item of their choice. In order to Extract Aspects in Diablo IV, players will need to speak to an Occultist and have a Legendary item that they would like to break down. The first Occultist can be found in Kyovashad, which is the first city you will access once you have beaten the Prologue. Unlocking the Occultist is relatively easy, and can be done extremely early on, which will give you access to extracting Aspects.

What makes this feature so valuable is the ability to apply any Extracted Aspect to any item of their choice, as mentioned above. This means that the item does not need to be a Legendary in order for you to apply said aspect. In fact, applying an Aspect to a Legendary item will overwrite the one currently applied to it. So it is best to save your Legendary items for their Aspects to be extracted and then applied to other pieces of equipment. Additionally, applying a Legendary Aspect extracted from an item can only be applied once. However, if you are applying an Aspect from a Codex of Power, you can imprint that Aspect onto any item indefinitely.

Diablo IV Extract Aspect

You can apply these aspects to Rare items to then make them Legendary items, for example. So don't be afraid to Extract Aspects through your local Occultist, as this gives players a more accessible way to create builds of their choosing. However, making a Rare item a Legendary item will not increase it's power. So ideally, finding a Rare item with a significantly higher power than your Legendary item, and then applying said Aspect is the best way to go.

Diablo IV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.

Diablo IV

Lilith arrived in Sanctuary with her the minions of hell. Diablo IV introduces one of the most integral characters from its expansive catalogue of lore to weave a tapestry about choice, parenthood, while transitioning the series into something more resembling a live service game. With one of the most interesting antagonists to date and a cast of characters that harken back to the much beloved Diablo II, Blizzard attempted to recreate the same lightning in a bottle it did with that seminal entry in the franchise. While Diablo IV is most certainly a beast of its own, it retreads old ground in more ways than one.

Editor's Note: This review was written without access to the battle . A feature about how it works and impacts the game will appear in the future. 5p1x5a

Diablo IV shares more in common with Diablo II, in of how it executes its skill tree, as opposed to Diablo III or other action-RPGs that share similar DNA. Players will allocate a set amount of skill points per branch before they can progress and obtain new skills or ives. However, it isn’t entirely linear in its overall execution, as you can always go back and add more skill points or even invest in new skills or ives you may not have obtained earlier in the game. Generally, players can invest in as many skills as they want, but will only ever be able to use a total of six skills at any given time. You can also obtain additional skill points through ives found in Legendary items, which can be used to try out new skills without investing skill points or even empowering active skills beyond its five point threshold. Investment also is as permanent as Path of Exile, for example, as you can reset your skill tree at any time for a sum of gold that scales based on level. You can also refund individual skills without needing to reset your entire tree if you can what order you invested those points in.

However, builds in Diablo IV are almost entirely dictated by the Legendary items you obtain. This isn’t too dissimilar from Diablo III, but it feels more restrictive. Thankfully, I obtained the Legendary items I needed for my build fairly early on and at integral points of the game, which allowed me to beat the final encounter some ten levels below the suggested level at World Tier l. Without those items, I would have probably needed to dedicate more time to participating in events found throughout the world or picked up more side quests for experience. But even at World Tier II, certain encounters definitely felt considerably easier once I had the appropriate items for my build as a Rogue, which relied on vulnerability and poison. Harder encounters became something of a DPS race, as I was determined to kill whatever would potentially instantly obliterate before it even had the chance to do so. I wouldn’t recommend playing this way, but it is entirely possible and does pose some fun challenges before you unlock the harder end game content.

[caption id="attachment_965430" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]Diablo IV Image via Blizzard Entertainment[/caption]

Once players beat the main campaign, Capstone Dungeons will be unlocked, along with missions on rotations players can complete to receive rewards. These are generally fairly challenging. It is suggested that players are at least level 45, since certain missions will require you to crawl through dungeons and take on a boss as the final bit of the encounter. This is how players will spend a bulk of their time obtaining Paragon points (which are used to allocate ive stats post level 50) and Legendary gear to create their ideal build. What differs about the Paragon system this time around is that they are fairly extensive and aren’t just four paths you can level up like Diablo III. This is the real meat of where your build will be, since you will be picking and asg glyphs to enhance your ives. For example, certain glyphs will increase the amount of poison damage a Rogue can do or can enhance the kinds of elemental damage the Sorcerer is capable of dishing out.

That said, certain classes do feel significantly stronger than others. Sorcerers and Rogues feel like absolutely powerhouses in comparison to the Barbarian and Druid. Necromancer feels like a middle ground at the moment, but with the right Legendary items, they’re capable of dealing incredible amounts of damage. The Barbarian and Druid aren’t nearly as lucky, but can get through most of the more challenging encounters the main scenario presents through sheer force of will.

Thankfully, boss fights in Diablo IV aren’t as active as you may expect, as the game takes a slower, more deliberate approach to these encounters. Coming from Lost Ark to Diablo IV left me surprised at the general pace of the boss fights, which can sometimes be a slog if you’re not able to stun bosses out of attacks or stagger them with the right kind of damage. There isn’t any real mechanical complexity to a lot of them, with the exception of one that transforms the arena. But this feels in line with other entries in the series, as boss fights in Diablo III weren’t exactly engaging, though they were extremely punishing during the game’s first few months.

[caption id="attachment_965431" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]Diablo IV Image via Blizzard Entertainment[/caption]

Certain fights also feel way more challenging than others. They can be overloaded with projectiles players need to dodge in order to avoid taking amplified damage while vulnerable, while others are fairly basic and just require you to dodge and move out of certain windows. Nothing is too challenging, but that’s what the different World Tiers are for. Though, from what I’ve experienced it mostly just affects the overall pool of health and damage done to you. That said, the game can easily be completed solo and despite the more MMO-lite approach Blizzard has taken with Diablo IV, you won’t be reliant on players for anything outside of possible world bosses.

What Blizzard has succeeded in is creating one of its most compelling characters within its catalog of games. Lilith, the central antagonist of Diablo IV and mother of Sanctuary, is without one of the best additions to the Diablo series by far, with this only amplified by Caroline Faber's performance. While she is no doubt driving Sanctuary to the brink of madness, there is something human about Lilith that makes her the most interesting antagonist in the series to date. However, despite Diablo IV introducing a new antagonist and even a new cast of characters, it is a narrative determined to retread old ground. Homages and even references to prior Diablo games, specifically Diablo II, feel as though they are reassuring players this is not Diablo III, for better or worse. This hinders what new ideas Diablo IV presents, as the narrative seems caught up in trying to tell the same story as its predecessors.

[caption id="attachment_965432" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]Diablo IV Image via Blizzard Entertainment[/caption]

Outside of moments when Lilith appears and utterly steals the shows, sidequests help flesh out the world of Sanctuary. While event quests are mostly generic and see you escorting ghosts to the graves of their loved ones or killing servants of Lilith before they spawn greater, more terrible demons, sidequests provide a glimpse into the madness the world faces. These narratives are equally fulfilling if at times equally harrowing as the main scenario, demon possessions and gore aplenty. This helps add texture to the world, and gives even the most minute characters in Diablo IV some substance. Even NPCs you see in ing provide some details as to how the world is faring with Lilith’s return, which is far from ideal in the eyes of most. The environments are also incredibly detailed for a game that you will spend most of your time zoomed out of. The various locals in Diablo IV are utterly gorgeous, if not a bit gray at times, but it truly shines in its more macabre states.

Diablo IV feels like a worthy successor to the franchise. It has all of the hallmarks of a Diablo game, but adopts more modern contrivances that feel almost unnecessary in a series that has thrived off of paid expansion packs accompanied by free updates. Embracing this MMO-lite formula gives Diablo IV a lot of potential for growth in of what can be added to the game over time, and I’m genuinely interested in future story related updates given how the main narrative ended. But its slow pace and limited character builds could be a turn-off to some, especially those looking for more variety. It feels like time will tell with Diablo IV and whether or not it will thrive among other live service games of its kind that have carved out a niche in the series’ absence.

Diablo IV will release on June 6, 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.

Overwatch 2 PvE Hero Mode Canceled in Favor of Story Missions

The new Overwatch 2 roap is here for season 5 through 7, and it confirmed that the PvE Hero Mode option is being scrapped in favor of Story Missions. Upon the announcement coming out, GameSpot also shared an interview with Director Aaron Keller and Executive Producer Jared Neuss that went over the decision to get rid of this mode and why.

In the GameSpot interview by Tamoor Hussain, resources were cited as an issue. Specifically, Director Keller noted that that development of the Overwatch 2 PvE Hero Mode would be like “running two separate games at the same time with a set of Heroes as the piece that is shared between two of them.” He noted the time necessary to do that and resources meant it was “pulling focus away from the live game.”

Neuss also expounded on how much extra work it involved and told GameSpot:

But for games like this, it's tougher because the team was building something that is totally different than anything that they'd built before. These story missions are significantly different than Archives or other ways that [we've] told stories inside the game before. And so developing those, what it takes to do that, the technology required, the people required, the iteration required is all different.

As for the new roap, people will still need to wait a while for any sort of PvE Story Mission in Overwatch 2. The fourth season will end on June 13, 2023, with the fifth season following that with events like Mischief & Magic, Questwatch, and Summer Games. Since seasons are about nine weeks long, it won’t be until sometime in August 2023 that the sixth season will bring with it a new Hero, Flashpoint, Hero Mastery, and Story Missions. (As a reminder, Lifeweaver was the last new Hero added in Season 4.)

Diablo IV Skip Campaign Feature Revealed

People won't have to go through the Diablo IV campaign more than once unless they want to, as a "Skip Campaign" feature appeared in the latest announcement. Activision Blizzard's "Inside the Game: Your Class Your Way" video for the game offered a quick glimpse at it. Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher followed up with an explanation as to how to unlock it. [Thanks, DatModz on Twitter!]

Here’s how it works. At just about the 2:50 mark in the Diablo IV “Inside the Game: Your Class Your Way” video, it shows how a created character named Nerea has the “Skip Campaign” option alongside the “Change World Tier” and “Delete Character” ones. Fletcher followed up that this is unlocked after a player beats the game. After finishing the campaign with a character, that option appears for someone to pick.

Here’s the full video. It focuses on customizing characters’ appearances, skills, and equipment. It starts by going over character creation and describing the Barbarian, Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, and Necromancer. From there, it looks at the character creator’s face & body, hair, and accessories sections. After that, it goes over the wardrobe and transmog options. Toward the end, it looks at playstyles and talks about the skill tree.

New Overwatch Hero Lifeweaver Kinda Sucks, and That’s Ok

It has been just over a week since Lifeweaver was added to Overwatch 2, and he has managed to accomplish something that very few freshly revealed heroes in Overwatch's history have been able to achieve. He's really bad upon his release.

It's no secret that most Overwatch heroes enter the game completely overtuned. From Rammattra and his never ending ultimate, to the meta-defining, and arguably game-killing shenanigans of Brigitte from the Overwatch days of yore, new heroes are normally overpowered and then subsequently nerfed. The conventional thinking is that you want as many people as possible to play new heroes, so that they can catch up to heroes that have have already been established in the game. Arguably the best way to do so is to go the Rammattra or Brigitte route and make them a must pick. With Lifeweaver, we finally get to see the Overwatch team work their balancing in the other direction. This is especially exciting because, even though Lifeweaver is "omegalul trash" right now, his kit is perhaps the most interesting one in the game.

New Overwatch Hero Lifeweaver Kinda Sucks, and That’s Ok

Starting with his main healing, Lifeweaver has a burst charge called Healing Volley that locks onto one teammate at a time and heals up to 65 health. It works well long range, which makes it great for topping up heroes like Pharah and Echo, and it's quite satisfying to use. Unfortunately, it just doesn't heal enough. On the damage side, he has Thorn Volley, which similarly feels good to use, thanks to its lack of damage fall-off, but doesn't have enough ammo to be viable in-game. The other issue with healing and damage is that you have to toggle to switch between them, which makes them feel clunkier to use. He does have a Rejuvenating Dash, which allows him to dash up to six meters and self heal a tiny 25 HP, but like to the damage and health moves, it feels undertuned.

Lifeweaver's Tree of Life ultimate takes a long time to charge, but is easily one of the coolest ones in Overwatch 2. The massive space that it takes up on the map provides cover for low health teammates and heals 150 health instantly to allies, with each pulse of the tree healing an additional 50. It's a bit goofy, which is par for the course for a character that can put his teammates into a hamster ball and yoink them to safety or into a hole, depending on how much they're currently feeling. Lastly, his Petal Platform provides great utility for long range heroes like Widowmaker and overall team positioning. Being able to sneak a non-flying tank like Reinhardt or Ramattra onto high ground is super useful and adds some more chaos to Overwatch 2.

The fact that each part of his kit is fun to use should go a long way in making Lifeweaver an Overwatch 2 fan favorite in the long run. Thankfully, the dev team has already announced some tweaks that should make him more viable.

In the meantime, Lifeweaver's only available to players who have purchased the most recent battle , so if you're bummed about him being overpowered you can just wait until he's free next season. My guess is by then he'll not only still have a great kit but also be incredibly overtuned. Such is the beauty of Overwatch.

Diablo IV Stress Test

Blizzard will provide another opportunity to play Diablo IV ahead of its release through an open stress test in May 2023. It will be held from May 12-14, 2023 and will give players a chance to obtain any rewards they may have missed from the open beta. Additionally, this will give those who missed out on the initial open beta period a chance to dive into Sanctuary. This was announced during an April 20, 2023 developer livestream.

The stress test will allow for players to try out the currently available classes, which include the Necromancer, Druid, Sorcerer, Barbarian, and Rogue. Leading up to the release of the game, Blizzard shared trailers showcasing the strengths and playstyles for each class.
