Persona 5 Tactica, the tactical strategy spin-off of Persona 5, is currently at its lowest price yet at the Best Buy US webstore. The Canadian webstore also has a discount active, but only for the Nintendo Switch version.

Currently, the US Best Buy webstore lists the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 versions at $19.99, while the Xbox One and Series X/S version is out of stock. For reference, the original price is listed as $59.99 on the page, marking a saving of $40. The Canadian webstore's offer isn't quite as good at $34.99 CAD down from $73.99, and is only available for the Switch version of the game. It is also sold outline on that store, but you may be able to reserve yourself a copy for pickup if you have a Best Buy locally. The US store does not list when the sale will end, but the Canadian one lists the end date as August 15, 2024.

Early last month, Bushiroad announced the development of several Persona-themed PalVerse figures, including the Tactica versions of Joker and Erina (Elle). Meanwhile, back in March the game had a collaboration with Marion Crepes, which included merchandise and dishes themed around the characters.

Persona 5 Tactica is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Best Buy is altering its My Best Buy program to remove the ability for all to earn reward points. The company announced that, starting on February 14, 2023, it will not allow standard to earn points. Rather, this will be reserved as a bonus for people who hold the My Best Buy Credit Card. It also announced free shipping for people who are , but don’t have the credit card. [Thanks, Wario64!]

The announcement did explain what Best Buy will do for existing My Best Buy who still have reward points or earn them before the cut-off date. By April 15, 2023, people will get a reward certificate that can be used to pay for items with points. As a reminder, this program allowed people to use earned points to get things like $5 rewards with points.

The rewards program involved various benefits. In addition to the soon-to-be-ended reward points and the free shipping, people would be able to get exclusive offers. Things like tracking and “home experts” for troubleshooting or assistance are also a part of it.

This comes after Best Buy eliminated another reward program in recent years. It shut down Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked, which involved discounts on games and My Best Buy points, in 2018. It then removed the program completely for those who stacked hip subscriptions in March 2021.

Regular My Best Buy can continue earning reward points until February 14, 2023.

The Best Buy 12 Days of Gaming sale is back, which means deals on assorted video games over a 12-day period. The official site for the promotion is live. Things started off on November 29, 2022 with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. For 24 hours, it is $29.99. On November 30, 2022, the next game will appear at a discounted rate.

This marks one of the deepest discounts on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2022 sales. Nintendo itself only offered a 30% discount on digital copies. It's $41.99 in the eShop until December 4, 2022 as a result. During its Black Friday sale this year, Best Buy did temporarily drop the price of its siblings Breath of the Wild and Link's Awakening to $29.

This sort of sale isn't uncommon for Best Buy. In the past, it's also offered similar promotions. Back from December 9-23, 2021, it held a 15 Days of Gaming event. It worked similarly, but lasted a few days longer than the current sale. Among the titles that appeared during that sale were Back 4 Blood, Deathloop, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Best Buy 12 Days of Gaming sale will offer deals on video games until December 12, 2022.

Another Black Friday ad is now online. Best Buy revealed its Black Friday 2021 sales via its official website, including the video games it will offer. While the official ad scan isn't available, people can see many of the different titles and hardware options the store will offer.

As far as consoles go, Best Buy will be keeping up with other stores. It will have the Black Friday Nintendo Switch bundle, which includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and costs $299.99. It will also offer the Xbox Series S digital console. The $499.99 PS5 is shown on the Black Friday portion of the site, but isn’t in stock (yet). It will also offer a year of PlayStation Plus for $39.99 instead of $59.99.

Best Buy will give out free codes to battle and catch Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee in Pokemon Sword & Shield later this month. Best Buy will distribute the codes from October 10 to October 24, 2021, with no purchases required.

After redeeming the code, players will receive a Dynamax Crystal in-game via the Mystery Gift system. Similar to past Pokemon Sword & Shield retail promotions, players can then use the Dynamax Crystal at the Watchtower Lair to challenge the Gigantamax Pikachu or Eevee in battle. Other players can also choose to the fight, or you can decide to start the battle with NPC companions. Once defeated, all battle participants will have a chance to capture the Pokemon.

The Gigantamax Pikachu will reportedly come with the Lighting Rod hidden ability, as well as the moves Celebrate, Double Team, Thunder Bolt, and Wish. Gigantamax Eevee, however, will come with the Anticipation hidden ability, and the moves Celebrate, Wish, Double Edge, and Swift.

Originally, the Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee were only available to those who also played Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! The Gigantamax Pikachu was later made available through Max Raid events, with some running only for a limited time. Similarly, Gigantamax Eevee also appeared in a Max Raid alongside Meowth back in May 2020.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are immediately available on the Nintendo Switch. The Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee free code promotion will run at Best Buy from October 10 to October 24, 2021.

An era is absolutely, completely over, as emails are heading out to anyone who might still somehow have a Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked hip. The company announced that it is shutting down the program, which officially ended back in 2018, down for good. March 1, 2021 is the official termination date and the company will mail checks to cover the difference. [Thanks, Wario64!]

Here’s the email, which Wario64 shared on Twitter. When it was still possible to become a member, a Gamers Club Unlocked hip cost $29.99 for a two-year period. Best Buy stopped selling hips in May 2018. However, people could buy cards for it in-store that could be redeemed and stack, as pointed out on the official site. This is how some people could still manage to be years later.

As a reminder, those who did have active hips would get discounts on both new and used games and guides at Best Buy, double My Best Buy points for buying and trading in games, extra trade-in credit for used games, and special offers. To be specific, if you pre-ordered a physical copy or bought a new one in store, you’d get a 20% discount, while a used game would be 10% off.

Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked will be permanently gone on March 1, 2021.

On November 5, 2020, Sony announced it would only have PlayStation 5s available at online retailers on launch day as part of COVID-19 pandemic precautions. Now, Best Buy updated its own policies for the season. Not only did the announcement confirm Best Buy PS5s will be available, but that this will be the only way to get the Xbox Series X at launch. In addition, Best Buy’s protocols will extend past launch day.

If someone wants to get one of the next-gen consoles through Best Buy starting with their launches in November 2020, they will have to go through the store's website. If either system is in stock, a person will be able to purchase it and then either have the system sent to their home or made available at a local store. If you go with a local option, you will be able to pick it up either by stopping in store or by going with curbside delivery. (Face masks will be required for customers, and employees will also wear masks.) If you have a pre-order, you will have an appointment time that says exactly when you can come in to collect your system.

Best Buy’s announcement noted this protocol will be in effect throughout 2020. There are no exact dates offered. However, Best Buy PS5 and Xbox Series X sales will be conducted through its site and delivered either via shipping or pickup at a store “throughout the holiday season.”

The Xbox Series X will launch on November 10, 2020. The PlayStation 5 will debut in Australia, Japan, North America, and South Korea on November 12, 2020 and in the rest of the world on November 19, 2020.

There will be a Best Buy Black Friday 2020 sales event in October. Between October 13-14, 2020, people will be able to take advantage of a few of the deals that will available during the weekend of November 27, 2020. People will be able to shop in-store or online. The Best Buy return policy will also allow people to take back items purchased between October 13, 2020 and January 2, 2021 anytime until January 16, 2021.

This coincides with two other sale events happening next week. Amazon Prime Day will be held October 13-14, 2020. Target will hold its Deal Days during that same two-day period.

Three of the sale items were discussed in the press release. The two specific will be a 70” Samsung 4K Smart TV for 529.99 and a pair of $69.99 JBL Free True Wireless headphones. The store’s announcement also said there will be “laptops starting at $119.99.” The company did not announce if there will be any gaming-related deals on specific titles, systems, or peripherals.

Best Buy’s announcement also involved pandemic precaution details. The company will require people who visit stores to wear masks and will enforce limits on how many people can be inside at a time. Employees will also wear masks and PPE. For people who don’t want to stop in, there will be same and next-day delivery options, store pickup options like “less curbside,” and the ability to pick up your Best Buy order at an alternate location like a CVS.

The early Best Buy Black Friday 2020 event will be held October 13-14, 2020, the same time Amazon will hold Prime Days and Target will have Deal Days.

It is looking like those interested in the Best Buy Gamers Club or Gamers Club Unlocked program may be out of luck. What is said to be an official Best Buy memo has appeared online stating the two programs will no longer accept new and current will only enjoy the benefits of the service until their current subscriptions expire. The Best Buy memo, which was dated May 20, 2018, states that all enrollment prompts have stopped, employees should not offer hip and people should be directed to the My Best Buy hip instead. The official website no longer allows people to purchase a two-year hip for $30.

The free Gamers Club hip offered people double points on game trade-ins, special reward certificates, gaming offers and points on gaming consoles. The paid Gamers Club Unlocked hip included all of those features and special welcome coupons, double points on games, digital content and accessories, 20% off e-guides for games, 10% off pre-owned games, 10% bonus trade-in credit and 20% off of all new games.

Best Buy’s pre-order incentive for Fallout 4 is a pair of Vault Boy socks, but the retailer is going in a different direction for Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Nintendo Wii U. People who pre-order the game will be able to get money to put toward pizza.

The  promotion applies to pre-orders of the standard version of Xenoblade Chronicles X. Customers must commit to buying the game by December 3 and must pick it up from Best Buy by December 10. Each qualifying order will have an e-Pizza cash code on the receipt that can be entered at XCXPizzaCash.com. A $10 virtual, prepaid MasterCard will be provided to put toward a pizza order at a qualifying restaurant where MasterCard is accepted. The virtual, prepaid MasterCards received through the promotion will expire on January 31, 2016.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will come to the Nintendo Wii U on December 4. The standard edition is $59.99.

If you’re reading this now and not camping out your chances are slim, but Best Buy is going to have a shipment of 12 or more Nintendo Wiis per store today. Don’t sweat it if you don’t get a Wii this round, Nintendo has been releasing steady shipments to stores since the Wii’s launch last week. More consoles are bound to come in December before Santa swings by your place.

No one really has a concrete list of which games are making the North American PS3 launch, but we can be pretty sure that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is not arriving between 11.16.06 and 11.22.06. Nearly every PS3 game on Best Buy's site is shipping by the end of 2006. The exceptions are Indiana Jones (a working title) and Sonic the Hedgehog, which Sega announced as a Q1 2007 title. This is probably a honest lazy mistake from Best Buy and most gamers don’t get their release date information from stores. But what if a grandparent pre-ordered stuff years ahead believing Best Buy’s schedule? Shouldn’t Best Buy at least say TBA or have a release date in 2007 like Gamestop?
