Back in 2023, Bushiroad announced a Chainsaw Man event for BanG Dream: Girls Band Party based on the anime and manga and its characters. Now, the crossover will finally appear worldwide. There’s no exact date yet, but the December 1, 2024 social media announcement said it is “coming soon.”  

Since the event already appeared in the Japanese version of the game in June 2023, we know what it entails. There are two covers of songs from the anime. One is “Chainsaw Blood,” which is performed by Afterglow. The other is “Fight Song,” which is sung by Roselia.

As you play, you can also get versions of existing characters who are dressed up like cast from the Chainsaw Man anime. The two we’ll be able to earn are Morfonica’s Rui as Aki and Poppin’ Party’s Rimi as Kobeni. If you go through the gacha, you can get Afterglow’s Ran as Denji, Morfonica’s Toko as Power, and Roselia’s Sayo as Makima. 

As for Chainsaw Man, we should get some news about what’s next for the anime adaptations and manga soon. It will be part of Jump Festa 2025. Mappa is currently working on Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc, so an update on that seems likely.

BanG Dream: Girls Band Party is on mobile devices, and the Chainsaw Man event comes to the global version of the game “soon.” The Chainsaw Man anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

Bushiroad announced that the third part of the second Hololive collaboration in BanG Dream! Girls Band Party will launch on January 13, 2024. This crossover will feature the Japanese VTubers Houshou Marine, Yukihana Lamy, and Shishiro Botan.

Here is a general summary of the new content featuring the Hololive VTubers:

1. Houshou Marine - Crossover gacha character illustration with Ran Mitake and performance of "Ahoy!! We Are the Houshou Pirates" with Afterglow
2. Yukihana Lamy - Crossover gacha character illustration with Mashiro Kurata and performance of "Fleur" with Morfonica
3. Shishiro Botan - Crossover gacha character illustration with Tomori Takamatsu and performance of "Lioness' Pride" with MyGO!!!!!

All players who to the game during the collaboration period will obtain 500 stars and special crossover stamps. However, the stamps featuring the original Hololive VTubers are only usable during the period. Only the stamps of BanG Dream characters cosplaying as the VTubers will remain available permanently.

The three Hololive VTubers will also hold a live stream dedicated to BanG Dream! Girls Band Party on their respective YouTube channels. Houshou Marine's stream will appear first on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Yukihana Lamy will be the second one on Sunday, January 14, 2024. The third and final stream by Shishiro Botan will launch on Monday, January 15, 2024. All streams on each day will go live at 7 PM JST / 5 AM ET.

This batch will be the last of the three-part collaboration that Bushiroad revealed in December 2023. The first part, which featured Minato Aqua, Tokino Sora, and Shirakami Fubuki, ran from December 6, 2023, to January 8, 2024. The second part starring Hoshimachi Suisei and Sakamata Chloe launched on December 23, 2023, and is still available until January 22, 2024.

It is yet to be known whether the new crossover content will also be available on the global English server or not. The latest Hololive collaboration featured on the English website appeared in April 2023. That was the month when Hololive English's IRyS made an appearance with her song "See the World."

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party is available worldwide on Android and iOS mobile devices. Bushiroad is now the sole maintainer of the mobile game after the development studio Craft Egg announced its withdrawal. The third part of the second Hololive collaboration event will be available on the Japanese server from January 13, 2024, to February 12, 2024.

Craft Egg, the studio that developed BanG Dream: Girls Band Party, will no longer be involved with the mobile game in 2024. Bushiroad announced that the studio will withdraw from the game's development and management effective from January 4, 2024. Bushiroad will become the sole maintainer of the game afterward.

Craft Egg is the original developer of the BanG Dream: Girls Band Party mobile game, which Bushiroad published first in Japan in March 2017. The studio was not involved in the Nintendo Switch version that came out exclusively in Japan in September 2021, as Rocket Studio was its developer instead.

While other companies published the game separately across East Asia, Bushiroad eventually launched a global English version that covers the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the rest of Asia in April 2018. Special collaborations with other franchises like Hololive Production and Atlus' Persona series have also appeared on the global server.

Despite the managerial change, Bushiroad assures the game's players that there will be no major changes to the player data and event schedules. The original Japanese version will have its seventh anniversary in March 2024. Meanwhile, the global English version will receive a major update to version 7.0.0 during the maintenance on December 19, 2023. The latter will also get more new songs around the 2024 New Year's Day.

The Japanese version of the mobile rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party will start its second collaboration event with the VTuber production company Hololive on December 6, 2023. The BanG Dream Hololive crossover announcement was made on their official Bandori social media .

The Hololive talent that will be featured in the BanG Dream! Girls Band Party event includes Tokino Sora, Minato Aqua, Shirakami Fubuki, Hoshimachi Suisei, Sakamata Chloe, Houshou Marine, Yukihana Lamy, and Shishiro Botan.

This second BanG Dream Hololive crossover collaboration will be distributed in three parts. For the first part, three collaboration cards featuring one Hololive talent and one Bandori character will be available to collect via gacha in the game. Minato Aqua will be paired with Aya Maruyama, Tokino Sora with Kasumi Toyama, and Shirakami Fubuki with Kokoro Tsurumaki.

The second part of the collaboration will feature the band Roselia with Sakamata Chloe and Raise A Suilen with Hoshimachi Suisei. Finally, the third part will feature the band Afterglow with Houshou Marine, Morfonica with Yukihana Lamy, and MyGO!!!!! With Shishiro Botan.

Additionally, La+ Darkness’s original song ‘Aien-Jihen’ will be playable in the game for a limited time starting in mid-December. She replied to the announcement on social media, expressing her delight in her inclusion.

Bang Dream will get a crossover with Chainsaw Man starting on June 30, 2023. Like other Bang Dream events in the past, the actual characters from the show will not appear as cards or in the event story. Instead, the girls will get new outfits and cards that are based on the Chainsaw Man characters.

There will be five characters with Chainsaw Man cards in Bang Dream. Three of them will be 5-stars that you have to gacha for. Two of them will be 4-stars that the game will award you as you complete event missions. The characters are:

• Ran Mitake (5-star)
• Rimi Ushigome (4-star)
• Rui Yashio (4-star)
• Sayo Hikawa (5-star)
• Toko Kirigaya (5-star)

The Bang Dream Twitter has also revealed the 5-star girls will look like. Ran’s hair and outfit will look like Denji’s and she also has his signature chainsaw in her card art. Sayo’s art makes her look like Makima, and Toko will look like Power. Rui’s hair style and outfit looks like Aki’s. Finally, Rimi's event design will take cues from Kobeni.

Bushiroad revealed more details about the BanG Dream: Girls Band Party collaboration event with the VTuber group Hololive. The occasion will feature the song “See the World” by IRyS, which will go live in-game on April 15, 2023. The collaboration itself will run from April 15, 2023 until May 5, 2023. It is unknown if there will be other customization elements in-game yet.

IRyS is a VTuber and singer who debuted in 2021 for Hololive. Her fictional backstory describes her as a half-angel, half-demon who spreads the word of hope through her songs. "See the World" itself is her twelfth original song. You can hear it below.

Hololive is coming back to BanG Dream: Girls Band Party, as the VTuber IRyS will appear in the rhythm game starting on April 15, 2023. There aren’t exact details about what sort of elements will appear just yet. However, the initial announcement did also confirm there will be an IRyS stream on April 29, 2023 involving the game.

Given IRyS’ song catalog, it is possible there could be some songs “performed” with in-game groups. The announcement image seems to show the Roselia singer Yukina Minato alongside her, so she could “sing” with them on a track.

It isn’t uncommon for Hololive events to show up in BanG Dream: Girls Band Party, as other VTubers appeared in past crossovers there. For example, in 2022 there was an event that added costumes, cookies, missions, and songs. That August 2022 event focused on performers like Tokino Sora, Minato Aqua, and Shirakami Fubuki.

The Japanese version of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! will re-run the Persona collaboration starting from September 23, 2021. This event originally went live in 2018, and the gacha focused on Afterglow. While the collaboration will feature covers of songs from Persona 3, 4, and 5, the Afterglow girls are all wearing Phantom Thieves outfits from Persona 5. [Thanks, Bandori_Updates!]

As mentioned above, the gacha will feature the Afterglow girls wearing clothing that draws inspiration from Persona 5. Prior to training, they are wearing civilian outfits while the background looks like an All-Out Attack. After training, they are wearing clothes that use motifs from the Thief costumes and their Personas.

The Hololive collaboration will take place in late October. The VTubers involved are Tokino Sora, Minato Aqua, and Shirakami Fubuki.

The Persona collaboration re-run in BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! will run from September 23, 2021 on the Japanese server. BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! is available on mobile devices, and the Nintendo Switch version launched on September 16, 2021.

The latest issue of Famitsu has a special coverage marking the release of the Nintendo Switch port of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party. It also includes an interview with the publisher Bushiroad and the development team from Rocket Studio. Bushiroad stated in this interview that it has no plans to release ports of BanG Dream! Kazuhiko Hirose, one of Bushiroad's board , hoped that the Switch release would make the title accessible to customers in an age range not covered by the original mobile app. He also added that the Switch version will have more content through DLC, post-release. The Season 2 DLC will add the Morfonica and Raise A Suilen bands, along with more stories and songs.

Meanwhile, a staff member from Rocket Studio mentioned that players of the Switch version will be able to obtain without any microtransaction. Instead, they can collect tickets by simply clearing missions and progressing through the story.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party is currently available worldwide on Android and iOS mobile devices. Bushiroad published a demo version of the Switch port on the Japanese Nintendo eShop. However, the company will delist the demo when it officially releases the full game on September 16, 2021. As of this writing, the Switch version only s the Japanese language.

Those who purchase early physical copies of this single-player rhythm and adventure game will be able to get a bonus poster containing an illustration drawn specifically for the title.

Bushiroad first announced the Switch release at the BanG Dream 6th anniversary stream held on February 28, 2021. Girls Band Party originated as a mobile game released in Japan in 2017 and globally in April 2018. As of April 2021, the mobile game has over 14 million s in Japan and 6 million s for the global client. The Japanese client added content from Atlus's Persona series in 2018. Girls Band Party is a rhythm game with visual novel elements that lets players learn more about each member of the bands grouped in the BanG Dream franchise, which also has anime adaptations and live performances by the actual voice actresses. Bushiroad also collaborated with Atlus to bring crossover content from Persona 3, 4, and 5 to this game.

The mobile game first launched in Japan on May 16, 2017. Bushiroad then brought it worldwide with the English version released in April 2018 and East Asian localizations launched in-between. The game sured 13 million s in Japan alone in July 2020 and 20 million worldwide as of September 2020.

Bushiroad regularly adds more content to Girls Band Party with not only costumes and songs but also new characters and bands. Morfonica was the newest band to the franchise in March 2020.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! is immediately available on Android and iOS mobile devices. The Nintendo Switch version is expected to arrive within 2021. Although the mobile releases are available worldwide, it is yet to be known if the Switch version will more languages other than Japanese or not.

Developer Craft Egg announced that its smartphone rhythm game Bang Dream! Girls Band Party is getting a collaboration with Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 this summer in Japan.

Details on the collaboration are light for now, but there will be an in-game event as well as a special gacha for the collaboration. It’s been revealed the the band Afterglow will have a collaboration with Persona 5, where its will play the role of Phantom Thieves.

The collaboration brings a cover songs with one track from each Persona title. The song “Days” written by Keigo Hayashi, Kohshi Asakawa, and composed by Takeshi Asakawa, will make an appearance as an additional cover track.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party is currently available on iOS and Android. the game launched an English version worldwide back in April, but so far the Persona collaboration has only been announced in Japan.
