Koei Tecmo and Gust have announced that they will shut down the global English and Chinese versions of the mobile game Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator on March 28, 2025. Only the original Japanese release will remain intact after this date.

This end-of-service announcement could not have come at a more coincidental time, as Koei Tecmo and Gust broke the news just as they were in the middle of celebrations for the global server's first anniversary, since it launched on January 25, 2024. On the contrary, the official X for the original Japanese release is still actively announcing new gacha banners without any signs of server closure in the immediate future.

Even though Gust has already specified the global server's shutdown date, the studio confirmed that it will still add more content until that day. To add even more to the abrupt closure, the last main story chapter slated to appear in March 2025 will be Chapter 21 (Part 1).

As a comparison, Gust just added Chapter 22 (Part 2) to the original Japanese release on January 27, 2025—the exact same day it announced the global server's closure. It will also celebrate 1.5th anniversary for the Japanese server—which launched on September 23, 2023—in March 2025. That will be the same month it closes the global server, which will only last for a year and two months in total.

The global version of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator is available in English and Chinese on iOS and Android mobile devices, as well as on PC via Steam, until March 28, 2025. The original Japanese version is still actively ongoing for the foreseeable future.

Koei Tecmo has revealed that it will set up a merchandise booth at Comic Market 105. The company will particularly sell merchandise themed after Fate/Samurai Remnant and Gust's Atelier series. Prices for the item will range from 800 yen (~$5.35) for individual domino-shaped keychains featuring Atelier Resleriana characters to 12,600 yen (~$84.50) for a full set of 14 acrylic magnets with Fate/Samurai Remnant characters.

The Atelier lineup will feature multiple titles from the long-running series. There will be specific focuses on Atelier Yumia, Atelier Sophie 2, the Atelier Ryza trilogy, and Atelier Resleriana. The latter will comprise both the ongoing mobile game Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator and the console game The Red Alchemist and the White Guardian.

Meanwhile, the Fate/Samurai Remnant segment will primarily focus on the seven primary Masters and Servants who appeared in the game's storyline. However, Koei Tecmo will also include acrylic stands showing Fate/Grand Order ascension stage forms of Servants who debuted in the console game, such as Yamato Takeru, Yui Shousetsu, and Minamoto-no-Raikou a.k.a. Ushi Gozen.

Comic Market 105 will take place at Tokyo Big Sight on December 29-30, 2024, and Koei Tecmo will set up its merchandise booth at No.1322 in the corporate booth area in the Western 3-4 Hall.

Koei Tecmo has updated its TGS 2024 webpage with details on its live streams at the event. The company will hold two separate streams to showcase its games.

The first stream will be part of the Tokyo Game Show 2024 Official Program lineup. Koei Tecmo will get its own slot on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 9 PM JST / 8 AM ET. The company will dedicate this stream to reveal details about Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

Koei Tecmo will then hold its own stream on the following day at 5 PM JST / 4 AM ET. The company will showcase its other games in this stream. The list will include Fairy Tail 2, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8, and the recently revealed Atelier Yumia. The ongoing live service titles Atelier Resleriana and Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation will complete the stream's roster.

Koei Tecmo announced the Atelier Resleriana English release date, and it will appear this week. It will launch on mobile devices and PCs via Steam on January 25, 2024, following the September 2023 Japanese debut.

While only a mobile and PC game, Atelier Resleriana is considered the next mainline entry in the series. It follows the aspiring alchemist Resna and adventurer Valeria. The two are investigating the disappearance of a comet that brought alchemy to the world and attempting to reach World’s End, all while also dealing with the Polar Night Alchemists. In addition to again focusing on synthesizing items and timeline-centered, turn-based battles, it also brings in various characters from past games like Ryza. In fact, the most recent video for Atelier Resleriana shows Ryza, Lent, and Tao in the game.

In addition, Koei Tecmo updated the official website for the game. It features six comics introducing Resna and showing her interactions with her friends Izana, Saskia, and Roman. None of them feature Valeria, however.

The Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator English release date is January 25, 2024. It will appear on the PC via Steam and mobile devices. It is already available in Japan.

In a Famitsu interview about the Atelier Resleriana, Gust Head and Producer Junzo Hosoi said that the team has fully planned out the end of the story. He also said that they will be able to show it to players when the time comes. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

In the Famitsu interview shared by leaker ryokutya2089, Hosoi explained that while development of the story is still in its early stages, the developers have a tight plan for it.

Since Atelier Resleriana is both a live-service mobile game and a main entry in the Atelier series, these words are intended to reassure players that they will be able to witness a proper ending to the story, regardless of when service ends.

In regards to the pacing of events, Akatsuki Games Producer Shuhei Yamaguchi shared that starting in January 2024, the development team will update the game three times per month to allow for more breathing room between events. In addition, the developers are also considering a way to allow players to obtain limited-time characters and Memoria more than once.

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator is available in Japan on mobile devices. The Japanese Steam version of the game will appear on January 2024. The game is expected to release globally sometime in 2024. Pre-registrations for the global release of the game are now available, and there will be pre-registration bonuses.

Koei Tecmo, Gust, and Akatsuki Games announced that the pre-registration period for the global release of Atelier Resleriana is now open. The game is set to release overseas sometime in 2024, and the full release date will appear at a later date.

Players will also receive various rewards as a pre-registration bonus. These are 1000 Lodestar Gems, the SSR Memoria "By the Cool Riverside," and the 3-star character "5-Star Pie Meister" Rorona. Atelier Resleriana is the main entry in Gust’s Atelier series. It will be a free-to-play simulation RPG with in-app purchases, and gacha elements. Koei Tecmo also revealed which devices will be compatible with the game.

Atelier Resleriana will run on iPhone XR and iPhone SE (2nd Gen) models and above, using at least iOS 14. For iPad, models including and above iPad RAM 3GB using at least iPadOS 14 will be able to run the game. Meanwhile, Android 7.0 RAM 4GB devices using the Snapdragon 835 U or above will be compatible.

Two new trailers for Gust, Koei Tecmo, and Akatsuki Games’s mobile and PC free-to-play RPG Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Liberator of Polar Night appeared official YouTube channel for the game during the 2023 Tokyo Game Show. This comes after an official livestream for the title appeared at the event.

The cinematic trailer exhibits the variety of characters players can meet in the game. The game’s theme song, "Saihate e (To the Far Reaches of the World)" by Reche, plays the background. Reche was originally a member of the Japanese band Egoist and she worked on the music for the anime series Guilty Crown in 2011. She also has worked on music for Atelier Ryza 3.

Koei Tecmo and Gust released a new trailer showcasing Totori in Atelier Resleriana. Totori is the protagonist of the eponymous Atelier Totori. Her full nama is Totooria Helmold, and she is an Alchemist from the fishing village of Alanya. In Atelier Totori, Totori embarks on an adventure to search for her long-lost mother.

Totori will be voiced by her original voice actor, Kaori Nazuka. She has also voiced Eureka in the Eureka Seven anime series, Shino in the .hack//G.U. series, and Charlotta in the Granblue Fantasy franchise.

Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland is the second title in the Arland Series. It initially launched for the PS3 on June 2010 in Japan, and September-October 2011 worldwide. The game would also receive a PS Vita port on November 2012 in Japan, and March 2013 overseas. The game can currently be found on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam where it launched on December 4, 2018 under the title Atelier Totori DX.

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator is currently in development, and will launch on mobile devices and PC via Steam on 2023. Additionally, Koei Tecmo and Gust confirmed the return of various Atelier Ryza characters to the new title.

As was announced before, these characters are from a previous entry in the Atelier series. Ryza was one of the legacy characters previously confirmed to be in the game earlier in August 2023, but we were unsure whether Lent and Tao would be included until now.

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator is expected to release sometime in 2023. The game is currently in development. It will be released on iOS and Android devices, as well as PC via Steam in Japan. A worldwide release has yet to be announced.

Koei Tecmo and Gust released two new Atelier Resleriana character spotlight videos focused on Judie and Viorate “Vio” Platane. They are two returning protagonists from previous Atelier entries. Judie was already confirmed as one of the Atelier protagonists that will appear in the main game in the Atelier series. Meanwhile, Viorate Platane is a new addition to the roster of returning Atelier protagonists.

Each video is approximately 13 seconds long and it showcases the characters in combat. Judith “Judie” Volltone made her first appearance in Atelier Judie: The Alchemist of Gramnad, released for the PS2 in 2002, and PSP in 2010. Viorate Platane is the protagonist of its sequel, Atelier Viorate: The Alchemist of Gramnad 2, which appeared on PS2 in 2003, and PSP in 2011.

Both titles release only in Japan. Judie and Vio made their first appearance overseas in the crossover title Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists, released for PS4, Switch, and PC worldwide in 2019.

New characters have been introduced, including second protagonist Valeria, a mysterious and powerful horned warrior with amnesia. Furthermore, a second trailer and a new key visual were revealed. Valeria will be the secondary protagonist in the new entry of the Atelier series. Valeria awoke without memories three years before the start of the game. Other characters accompanying her are Heidi, Flock, and Lanze.

Koei Tecmo and Gust announced Atelier Resleriana, the new entry in the Atelier video game series. It will appear on iOS and Android devices, as well as on the PC via Steam. There is currently no release date. The title is being co-developed by Akatsuki Games and it will have gacha elements. The Japanese subtitle for the game roughly translates to “The Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberators.”

During the announcement broadcast, a reveal trailer and key visual were shared. The trailer focused on four characters. These are protagonist the Resna and her friends Izana, Zaskia, and Roman. Roman’s name card appears to be covering a different name underneath it.

Furthermore, the Japanese voice actor for Resna was featured in the broadcast as a special guest. Saho Shirasu will voice her in the Atelier Resleriana. She has previously voiced Mio Kofune in the Summer Time Rendering anime series.

Yasunori Sakuda from Team Ninja is acting as development producer for the game. His credits include various Dead or Alive games, as well as being Program Lead for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Meanwhile, Shusei Yamaguchi from Akatsuki Games will be executive producer. Atelier Ryza series producer Junzo Hosoi will fill the role of general producer for this new entry.

Atelier Resleriana is a new game in the Atelier series. It is currently under development, and it will appear on mobile devices and PC via Steam. There is currently no release date for the game.
