Super Street Fighter IV Has A “Special Set Of Things” For Street Fighter IV Purchasers

In a Gamasutra interview, Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, discussed Super Street Fighter IV’s pricing. At $40, it’s less than the original price of Street Fighter IV, but more than the Platinum Hits reprint in stores now. Capcom couldn’t release all of the added content as able content. Putting the extra characters and features on a Platinum/Greatest Hits disc wasn’t an option either.

“The problem is that it gets a new title ID, which means no cross-play with the original consumers,” Svensson said to Gamasutra. “And the other part is deg the game around, figuring out who has which package, even if you could do that.”

Basically, Capcom had to make another game, but there is a special bonus for fans that purchased both versions of Street Fighter IV.

“And we haven’t announced it, but for those who have purchased and played Street Fighter IV on the system that they play this on, there will be a nifty little special set of things that those people will have the option of enjoying that others won’t,” Svensson teased.

Super Street Fighter IV, packed with 3D models of Cody, Adon, and Ibuki, is scheduled to come out on April 27 in North America.
