Compulsion Games revealed a release date of April 8, 2025 for South of Midnight, the action-adventure game set in a fantasy version of the American Deep South. The reveal came at the January 23, 2025 Xbox Developer Direct, alongside a new story trailer and an extended look at some of the game’s mechanics.
The presentation began by showing off some of the inspirations behind the game, and also gave a look at some of the various of spells, enemies, and weapons protagonist Hazel will encounter. We also got a look at some of the other locales featured in the game, like New Orleans-inspired streets and urban areas as well as caves and the previously seen bayou. Each of the areas is themed around the boss Hazel must defeat, and each has a unique musical theme that builds as the boss progresses through its phases. Finally, the developers announced the April 2025 South of Midnight release date.

The game was originally announced with at the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase.
South of Midnight has a release date of April 8, 2025. It will be available for PCs and the Xbox Series X/S. It will also be available on Xbox Game on launch.
