Yacht Club Games wants to make it up to the Wii U and 3DS players in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand who have been patiently waiting for the release of Shovel Knight by offering a cross-platform discount.

People in those three territories that buy the game on either Wii U or 3DS are being offered a 33% discount off the game on the other Nintendo platform until the end of 2014.

It’s not much, really, especially when you consider that on PlayStation platforms the cross-buy system means you only have to pay once to get a game on all three PlayStation platforms. But, hey, it’s something.

Yacht Club also took the opportunity to remind us the different features of Shovel Knight available on both Wii U and 3DS.

The Wii U version comes with Miiverse through the Digger’s Diary, Off-TV Play with the GamePad, and lots of input options. While the 3DS version has stereoscopic 3D, the Street Battle Arena, and Play Coin .

As to when Shovel Knight will be released on these Nintendo platforms in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, Yacht Club could only repeat that it’s “coming soon.”
