People won’t be playing the new Prince of Persia game in March 2021. There is yet another delay. This time, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake doesn’t even have a release date. Instead, the new Twitter announcement only said it will appear at “a later date.”
As is common with such delays, the reason this time seems to be quality control. When the update appeared, it specifically cited the goal of making something both “fresh” and “faithful.”

Since announcing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in September [2020], we saw an outpouring of from you on this beloved franchise. It is your ion and that is driving our development teams to make the best game possible. With that said, we have made the decision to shift the release for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date. This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.
We understand the update might come as a surprise and we will continue to keep you posted on the progress of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. In the meantime, we want to thank you all for your ongoing .
This new Prince of Persia game first appeared via a delay pushed it to March 18, 2021.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
