PNY Will Sell 2 microSD Express Suitable for Switch 2

PNY announced it will sell two types of microSD Express memory cards capable of working with the Switch 2, with the new cards available through Amazon and the company’s official site. 128GB and 256GB options will be available at $44.99 and $55.99, respectively. These will work with both Express and UHS-I and UHS-II devices.

PNY shared the packaging for the devices and details about their capabilities, as well as showed how both will look. The microSD Express cards will be sold in packaging that specifically mentions they are compatible with the Switch 2 on the front, to ensure it is clear about compatibility. Each card will be white and mention their size on the front. Regardless of storage size, each one will write up to 750MB/s, while they can read at 890MB/s. Both are speed class 10 and video speed class V30. They feature thermal monitoring as well.

PNY isn’t the only company to reveal compatible memory cards for the new console. SanDisk also confirmed it will sell microSD Express cards compatible with the Switch 2. Like PNY, they will be available in two sizes to start. However, the SanDisk ones are more expensive at launch. The 128GB model is $53.99 at Amazon, while the 256GB option is $71.99.

The PNY MicroSD Express memory card is available through the official store and Amazon, and the Switch 2 release date is June 5, 2025.
