Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers Don’t Work With Switch 2 Games 

Nintendo announced both on its get a discount on games by purchasing these special tickets.

On the English site, the description for the product now reads, “Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system.” On the Japanese storefront, there’s a note that brings up how the new titles aren’t eligible for the promotion. Typically, you would pay 9,980円 or $99.98 for a pair of vouchers that could be put toward two digital copies in the eShop. 

Here are some of the most notable current and titles that are a part of the Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers promotion:

  • Another Code: Recollection
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
  • Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club
  • Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer
  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
  • Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership
  • Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
  • Super Mario Bros Wonder
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition

This isn’t the only Nintendo program that is coming to an end. The company also announced the My Nintendo Gold Points initiative is shuttering. If you purchased digital or physical games, you’d get points that could be put towards games or DLC. Each Gold Point was worth a penny, so you could use that to get a discount or outright buy items. You can’t earn them starting on March 25, 2025, and the last points you earn are good for a year. 

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct will air on April 2, 2025, with the system launching later this year. There’s no exact release date for the console or its titles yet.
