Kojima Productions clarified its relationship with both Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment in response to its recent announcement of a new game in partnership with Xbox Game Studios. The company took to Twitter to explain some of its business plans going forward, as well as shed light on future games within the PlayStation ecosystem.
During the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Hideo Kojima announced that his company would be “new and challenging.”

Though rumors of a possible partnership have existed for some time, many fans have reportedly asked Kojima Productions about its ongoing partnership with Microsoft’s competitor, Sony Interactive Entertainment. To this, Kojima Productions first clarified that it would continue pursuing work “as an independent creative studio.” As such, Kojima Productions will continue to maintain “a very good partnership with PlayStation as well.”
Kojima Productions’ first game was Death Stranding, a PlayStation 4 exclusive title on launch. The game later received a Death Stranding sequel was currently in production.
