Kazutaka Kodaka Interested in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Anime

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy creator and TooKyo Games Co-founder Kazutaka Kodaka’s discussed the game quite a bit on social media since its debut, and his latest statements involved the possibility of it inspiring an anime adaptation. He noted sales would affect the chances of that happening, and he followed up going over which route could be the inspiration for that version.

Kodaka started discussing the possibility of a The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy anime after someone mentioned wanting a series or some OVAs. He then shared that tweet and said, “If the game sells well, we’ll definitely turn it into an anime! To make that happen, I’m doing everything I can to bring more players to Hundred Line.”

Kazutaka Kodaka’s follow-up messages then got into the possible route that could be used for that adaptation. In one reply, he noted, “I have a lot of ideas!” He also mentioned there being multiple “possibilities.” When answering one person’s question, he said, “I’m going to pick and choose the route that the Hundred Line will take to get animated!”

This wouldn’t be the first anime adaptation of a game Kodaka worked on. It happened with Danganronpa. Danganronpa: The Animation is streaming on Crunchyroll now. He was also involved with Tribe Nine, which is a multimedia project that includes an anime (also on Crunchyroll) and game.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC, and TooKyo Games is open to the possibility of an eventual anime adaptation if sales are high enough.
