Koei Tecmo published a new trailer for Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, also known in Japan and Asia as Shin Sangoku Musou 8: Empires. It also released a previously teased in November 2021.
The new trailer shows more gameplay snippets and cutscenes that place a customized character as the main star. It implies that the player will be able to do many activities in the game, such as forming a mercenary band or establishing their own full-fledged faction.

The demo shows that the PlayStation and Xbox releases of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will let the player choose between a high-framerate Action Mode and a resolution-focused Cinematic Mode. It also contains notes hinting at more features that will be available in the full game.
For example, the player can still access and customize Hideaways in the open-world inherits parameters from both parents.
The full version of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will be available in Japan and Asia on post-release DLC.
