Koei Tecmo and Omega Force confirmed that Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires is delayed and will not be released within early 2021. In a tweet made on the Japanese Dynasty Warriors Twitter , which is also available in English on the Koei Tecmo America , Producer Akihiro Suzuki apologized on behalf of the development team. The group shared the above screenshot taken from the opening movie as it continues to work on polishing the game.

Koei Tecmo had not revealed more details on Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires since the initial reveal at mobile game in Japan by the end of this fiscal year.
We learned so far that Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will mostly retain the DualSense features on the PlayStation 5 version.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires is currently in development for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Koei Tecmo will announce its new release window in due time.
