Square Enix announced a concrete release date for the offline version of Dragon Quest X, which is available only in Japan. During the same stream, Square Enix also announced Version 6 for the online game. The offline version will come out on February 26, 2022 as both physical and digital versions. The suggested retail price is 8,580 JPY (~$79).
During the promotional video, we get to see the basic premise of the story and some of the main characters who will appear. After Nelgel attacks the protagonist’s village, they are sent to a shrine and their soul is put inside a different body. You can get a look at Maille (Aya Endo), F (Nobunaga Shimazaki), Fuura (Haruka Shiraishi), Dasuton (Kentaro Ito), and Prince Laguas (Tomoyo Kurosawa) in the PV, as well as how the game will look offline.

While people who do not wish to play an MMORPG will finally get the chance to enjoy the story of Dragon Quest X with this offline version, there is no concrete confirmation as of yet on if this game will appear in regions outside of Japan. During the stream, Square Enix confirmed once more that it will not have a localization.

The offline version of Dragon Quest X will appear on February 26, 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
