People in Japan now have a chance to test out a Disgaea 6 demo. The trial, which includes an opportunity to create a save file that can be used in the full game, is immediately available on both the eShop and PlayStation Store. It is a 1.6GB on the Switch. While Disgaea 6 will eventually be released worldwide on the Nintendo Switch, this sample only offers a Japanese language option. [Thanks, Gematsu!]
The Disgaea 6 demo picks up immediately at the beginning of the game. Though, it seems this is a situation similar to the one in Persona 5, in which players are coming in after major events have already happened. After a brief introduction, which involves a tutorial stage where Cerberus can help an overpowered Zed and the player get used to fighting, Zed comes face-to-face with Overlord Ivar and explains how things got to that point. It’s then that the first chapter begins.
As a reminder, Disgaea 6 will introduce a number of new gameplay elements to the series. For example, as a zombie, Zed can tap into the power of different counter abilities.
Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 28, 2021 and to the Nintendo Switch worldwide in Summer 2021. The Japanese Disgaea 6 demo is now available.
