Castlevania Will Soon Be Getting Its Own Show On Netflix

Sometime this year, Netflix will be getting a brand-new show based off of the Castlevania series. [Thanks, io9.]

 

During an event yesterday, Netflix announced the majority of its programming. Included in a press release was the following:

 

Castlevania Season 1, Part 1 Coming to Netflix in 2017

 

Here’s more about the show:

 

“Inspired by the classic video game series, “Castlevania” is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar.”

 

As it says, the show will be coming to Netflix sometime this year, though not many details are known at this point. We’ll be sure to post more information on the show as it becomes available.
