Square Enix’s latest “Inside Final Fantasy” video series focuses on Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, featuring interviews with original creators who share some secrets and anecdotes from its development.
The video starts out with an introduction of some of its original key creators, by asking them about the first thoughts that come to mind when they look back at the games. Producer Yoshinori Kitase, says Blitzball is the first thing that comes to mind when he thinks of Final Fantasy X, as it was a part that he oversaw during its development. When main programmer Takashi Katano looks back at it, he recalls it being his first time being a main programmer in an RPG and how much work was involved.
For Final Fantasy X event director and Final Fantasy X-2 director Motomu Toriyama it is the Asian-style setting of Final Fantasy X which he felt led to a very unique world that featured characters with all kinds of traditional Japanese-style designs.
Lastly, art director Yusuke Naora says his most memorable part is the opening scene from Final Fantasy X, which was the first entry to have voices that made it possible to depict more aspects of the characters.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
